Creak…
Ailin stared in shock at the scene unfolding before her. Sitting on the ground, she had no idea what to do. She could only watch as the girl in front of her bled profusely onto the earth under Xuefei’s relentless bites.
“Are you okay? Do you need help? Let me stop the bleeding for you!”
What shocked Ailin even more was that Leia didn’t spare her a single glance. She silently refused the offer and ignored her completely, keeping Ailin at a distance.
Ailin simply couldn’t make sense of what was happening.
Did she not feel any pain?
And yet, Xuefei was biting into her with ravenous hunger.
The elves around them cried out in alarm at the sight. Some stared wide-eyed before fleeing in panic. Others glanced toward the many wounded nearby, helpless to act, and ducked into the refugee tents, peeking out cautiously to observe the two.
“With me here, Xuefei, don’t worry.”
The dragon girl cradled in her arms gave no verbal reply—or rather, the steady gulping sounds were her response. She drank deeply of Leia’s blood, her bites growing fiercer by the moment, as if eager to grind the flesh between her sharp teeth and swallow it whole.
Her draconic eyes blazed with fury and madness, like those of a frenzied little beast. Her razor fangs sank deep into Leia’s shoulder, while her claws rent the robe aside, scoring bloody trails across the pale skin beneath.
For all that this dragon girl held Xuefei close and murmured her name in gentle tones, Xuefei showed no gratitude. Instead, she unleashed a guttural snarl, a savage warning to any who might draw near. Her jaws clamped down harder, and Ailin could well imagine the agony—yet Leia’s face betrayed no reluctance. She seemed to accept it all without question.
There was no fear in those eyes, no reproach—only indulgence.
As it should be. No—as a family member would.
To her, Xuefei was merely a wayward child. Everyone made mistakes, even the Evil Dragon. And Leia’s response was forgiveness, acceptance, an outpouring of even greater love.
“I’m going to kill you all! You filthy bastards—die!!”
“Mmm, that’s my Evil Dragon. Good girl—don’t give up.”
“…”
Sensing her body pulled into that embrace, Xuefei struggled to break free. Curses laced with hatred spilled from her lips, only for Leia to take them in with gentle patience.
Leia licked Xuefei’s earlobe. Blood loss had left her faintly dizzy, but she pressed on.
“Destroy whatever torments you. Shun whatever brings you sorrow. Those who would hurt you—crush them without mercy. Xuefei, we can’t control others’ fates, but we can choose who we become. Be happier, freer… more yourself.
“If the past chains you down, this journey will be short and meaningless. Why plant a seed of grief, only to unearth it later with the shovel of memory?”
“…”
Miraculously, Xuefei’s strength ebbed.
The savage tearing gave way to ceaseless trembling. She didn’t unclench her jaws entirely but kept them latched to the shoulder, bathing the jagged wound in tears.
Then the injury began to heal, leaving only the imprint of teeth behind. Still, she refused to let go. Suddenly, a deeper surge from the soul spurred her on; her fangs pressed in once more, fresh droplets of blood welling up. But this time, Leia felt no real pain.
It was like any ordinary exchange of magic—nothing out of the ordinary.
“Feels safe with something in your mouth, doesn’t it? Being a dragon for the first time is bound to feel strange. It’s normal.”
Leia’s tender gaze drifted to Xuefei’s flawless back. She reached out and patted the exquisite form like a living work of art.
At last, the beastly growls faded, replaced by soft, coquettish whimpers—barely audible, a gift meant only for Leia.
“Awoo… awoo…”
“That’s my Xuefei. The sound of you acting spoiled in Leia’s arms, seeking my protection. Now, focus on me. That’s right~”
“Wu…”
Leia gently cupped Xuefei’s chin. With care, she eased the sharp teeth from the wound. Her body remained steady as ever. Those vacant eyes betrayed no return of reason, but in Xuefei’s world, only Leia existed now.
Everything else ceased to matter.
Blood mingled with rainwater as the downpour scattered the onlookers back to their tents ten meters away. Crowds had gathered to watch, but far more survivors lay in their beds, awaiting proper care. Tonight, no one would recall these two dragon girls and their intimate exchange amid the storm.
Before erasing their memories, Leia devoted her entire body and mind to the petite Dragon Girl in her arms, whose eyes were vacant and lifeless.
Her body was completely limp, lost in a dazed state, and her noble silver hair remained utterly untouched by the raindrops. Leia knew that if she did anything to Xuefei right now, she would have no choice but to accept it—even turning her into a slave through some means and making her utterly obedient would be effortless.
She really wanted to… ruin Xuefei.
Although this Dragon Girl’s body was already filled with her own essence, the [Obsession] of Dark Filth was far from satisfied with just that.
Leia embraced Xuefei, suppressing all her impulses, and pulled her down to kneel together in the rainy night. Taking advantage of Xuefei’s current state, she softly asked:
“Now, can you tell me what you saw?”
“Souls… [Obsession]… the dead ones, they’re hurting me… those souls, they’re still… hurting me.”
“Yes, controlling the souls of the dead is very difficult. Perhaps your kindness unintentionally marked you as the destination for those souls, turning you into their resting place? But after shedding their [Obsession], they left. Truly unforgivable.”
In truth, this was a terrifying thing.
By exploiting the [Obsession] of the dead to convert it into the power and “base” of Dark Filth to strengthen oneself, it was akin to stealing the power from existences on the verge of becoming Dark Filth.
Leia also sensed a clear increase in Xuefei’s power. Although she had now created a node and used a puppet-like “clone,” if she died here, she would revive in the Palace—that was what Xuefei had asked Leia to do… However, if they truly went to war right now, Leia’s clone, which was only at Super Tier Layer 1, could never defeat Xuefei.
Not to mention…
The “clone” itself was purely Leia’s consciousness, and there was no awake consciousness of Leia in the Palace. She could only return to her “main body” through death or by voluntarily ending the spell.
In other words, she would endure all the pain without any reduction. Such behavior seemed to offer no benefit beyond hiding her strength and preventing accidents.
Leia raised her other hand.
The black souls drifting above the city, crowding endlessly toward Xuefei, were drawn into Leia’s palm under immense gravitational pull. She crushed them, swallowed them into her mouth, and then pressed her lips to Xuefei’s cherry lips in a deep kiss…
“Mmmph~”
“Feels good, right? It’ll be very sweet like this. If Xuefei gets scared, remember to ask for my help, okay?”
“Mmmph mmmph.”
“Xuefei, go to sleep. The souls won’t affect you anymore. Rest easy, and drift off fragrantly with the Dragon Egg~”
“Mmmph…”
Thanks to Leia’s efforts, this little Beast finally closed her eyes completely, falling into a peaceful sleep like a kitten.
