Chapter 302: A Seductive Voice
Meggie Liran rubbed her eyes. No matter how much she tried to deceive herself, Kailun and Chrissy were indeed sitting in front of her.
Her heart skipped a beat, and an overwhelming urge to cry welled up inside her.
She had been caught. Kailun had arrived sooner than she expected.
She finally realized that it was Vanni who had betrayed her.
The minister must have gone to meet Kailun while she was away. Her excuse about having a stomachache was a lie.
This should have been a heartbreaking betrayal, but Meggie Liran didn’t feel as sad as she thought she would.
“Your Holiness, are you not welcoming us? Why haven’t you even greeted us, let alone offered us a meal?”
Kailun’s voice interrupted her thoughts. They had been staring at each other for over ten seconds. If this continued, it would never end.
“If I said I wasn’t welcoming you, would you leave?” Meggie Liran snorted and crossed her arms.
Since she couldn’t escape, she might as well be defiant. At least she would be standing tall when she lost.
Kailun shrugged casually. “Of course. Does Your Holiness think I would shamelessly stay in Alaye?”
His answer made Meggie Liran even more uneasy. She couldn’t figure out what he was planning. “Really?” she asked tentatively.
Kailun nodded. “Really.”
Meggie Liran pursed her lips. “Why don’t you stay then? I don’t believe you came all this way for nothing. That’s not your style.”
“You know me quite well.” Kailun raised an eyebrow. “I came to Alaye mainly because Chrissy missed you. I’m just here to help you solve some problems. Of course, my main goal is to build a good relationship with the esteemed Pope. After all, you’re a crucial link to the Temple of the Celestial God.”
Meggie Liran snorted. “You don’t need me, Mr. Kailun. Haven’t you already infiltrated the Temple? In terms of manipulation, even two of me wouldn’t be your match.”
Kailun waved his hand dismissively. “You flatter me. Many things were unavoidable. Our victory this time was all thanks to Fox and the others’ gamble. By the way, Chrissy said she missed you, so you two can have a good chat. You don’t have to worry about me. Just prepare a delicious lunch for me.”
To avoid dwelling on these troublesome topics, Kailun changed the subject. Discussing them now would only hurt their “feelings.”
“Mother, I missed you.” With Kailun’s cue, Chrissy rushed towards the Pope, her affection genuine.
If there was any flaw in her feelings, it was definitely because of Kailun’s influence. He had been feeding her strange ideas.
She had been led astray by him, even more than he had anticipated.
Seeing Chrissy sitting beside her, Meggie Liran’s face darkened. During her conversation with Kailun, she had deliberately ignored Chrissy, hoping to prevent her from influencing her.
But in the end, her only weakness was still exploited by Kailun.
“Go away! I don’t want to see you! And I’m not your mother! Stop saying that!” Meggie Liran moved her chair away from Chrissy with a look of disgust. This behavior didn’t suit her status as Pope. She looked more like a sulking woman.
“I don’t care, you are.” Chrissy relentlessly moved her chair closer to Meggie Liran. “Mother, look, Kailun and I came all this way and haven’t even eaten yet. Aren’t you going to offer your guests lunch? Let me tell you a secret. Kailun is always either hungry or horny. If you don’t feed him, your daughter might be in danger!”
Chrissy’s words made both Kailun and Meggie Liran’s faces twitch. This girl was truly asking for trouble. After giving her a few days off, she had already forgotten her place.
Meggie Liran hesitated for a moment before instructing the maids to prepare a sumptuous lunch for Kailun and Chrissy. Just in case… what if Kailun really had that kind of “taste”? Would she also be “eaten” as a dessert?
“I understand. I’ll have someone make the arrangements.” Meggie Liran replied with a sigh.
To be safe, she made the most cautious choice.
However, this concession became the beginning of her continuous concessions. Not only did she have to endure their company during lunch, but after the meal, Kailun even asked her to take them on a tour of the Papal Palace.
Everything went smoothly during the tour. Kailun didn’t do anything out of line, much to Meggie Liran’s relief.
In the evening, Kailun suddenly asked to discuss official matters. She was nervous for a while, but to her surprise, he was actually serious about discussing work, without any inappropriate advances.
The things Kailun mentioned were quite helpful to Meggie Liran, essentially cleaning up the mess he had left behind.
So far, everything was fine.
At ten o’clock at night, Meggie Liran finished reading and lay down in bed, preparing to rest. However, seductive moans drifted from the next room, dispelling her sleepiness. She couldn’t fall asleep after hearing those sounds.
Initially, she didn’t understand why Kailun had insisted on staying in the room next to hers. Now she understood. He was subtly trying to influence her mind.
The rooms in the Papal Palace had good soundproofing. She shouldn’t have been able to hear those sounds. Unless… Kailun had used some special magic to make sure only she could hear them.
How outrageous!
How could such a despicable person exist!
Meggie Liran turned over, burying her face in the pillow and covering her ears, but the sounds wouldn’t stop. She heard Chrissy’s voice, Kailun’s voice, their moans filled with pleasure and excitement.
‘Is it really that pleasurable?’ A strange thought crossed her mind.
‘No! How could I have such a thought? I have to leave this place!’
She quickly suppressed the dangerous thought and decided to change rooms. But as she tried to get up and leave, her legs went weak, a tingling sensation coursing through her body, bringing a strange new feeling.
She couldn’t walk anymore. Meggie Liran felt like crying.
As time passed, her body felt increasingly strange. It was as if her instincts had awakened, urging her to reach down and touch herself.
Thankfully, her willpower was strong enough. She only rubbed herself slightly.
…….
“Good morning, Your Holiness.”
The next morning, Kailun greeted Meggie Liran as if nothing had happened. Unlike yesterday, she looked exhausted, as if she had been mentally tortured.
After his abilities were enhanced, his words and actions could influence others, and his voice was no exception.
He had planted the seed. With a few more days of “cultivation,” he could reap the harvest.
He was looking forward to the Pope’s transformation.
