Chapter 54: You’re My Brother Now
On the big bed, Xi Meng and Fu Qi were both asleep.
Fu Qi reached out to Xi Meng.
She said softly, “I’m too tired today.”
“I’ll just rest my hand here.”
Fu Qi chuckled.
Xi Meng, her mind preoccupied with important matters, said with annoyance, “I said I’m tired. You’ll get yourself worked up, and you can’t even finish it. I’ll have to do it myself.”
Fu Qi’s face fell, and he turned away.
No one knew that the husband of this “Investment Queen” was impotent.
The next morning, Tang Ze enjoyed a hearty breakfast.
There was a knock on the door. Alright, game over.
He tidied his clothes and went to open the door. It was a woman. Wasn’t this Feng Mengmeng, the woman he had saved yesterday?
She was wearing a low-cut V-neck top. So provocative?
Feeling Tang Ze’s gaze, Feng Mengmeng lowered her head slightly and offered him a plate.
“Oh, thank you.”
Tang Ze took the plate, deliberately brushing his fingers against hers, making her blush. She quickly pressed the elevator button and left.
Closing the door, Sun Ting said with a smile, “I told you, Master is so charming. He doesn’t even have to do anything, and the girls are lining up to please him.”
Tang Ze smiled wryly and opened the plate. Inside were four fried eggs. Having eggs these days was indeed a luxury, a real splurge.
“I’m not interested in women who throw themselves at me. I prefer those with a strong will to resist, like our little Yiyi.”
Ye Qingyi said coyly, “I never resisted.”
“Sister Yiyi, you’re denying it now.”
“Bai, you’re asking for it, aren’t you?”
“Sister Yiyi, it’s not just my skin that’s itching~”
Just then, Tang Ze’s phone rang.
“Are you free now? I have something to discuss.”
“I’m free.”
It was Xi Meng.
“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
Hanging up, Tang Ze stood up and stretched.
“Master, we agreed, no threats, no cheating.”
Tang Ze gave an “OK” sign, smiled, and left.
He arrived at Xi Meng’s apartment and rang the doorbell.
Ding dong, ding dong.
It was Feng Mengmeng who opened the door. Seeing Tang Ze, she shyly looked away.
Tang Ze was telling the truth. He wasn’t interested in women who threw themselves at him. But if they did, he wouldn’t turn them down. Freebies were freebies.
On the sofa, Xi Meng sat elegantly, looking at her phone, her slight frown adding to her charm.
She wasn’t intentionally posing. She had just received a call from Huo Wannian, who wanted to negotiate in person, at his club.
She knew it was a trap, but it was also an opportunity. If she could kill Huo Wannian, her worries would be over. She could even absorb his men and strengthen her own forces.
But all of this depended on whether Tang Ze was up to the task.
“Tang Ze is here.”
Feng Mengmeng stood respectfully beside her, still a secretary, while Xi Meng maintained her boss-like demeanor.
Tang Ze liked this kind of woman who acted high and mighty. It would be more painful when she fell.
“Pour him a glass of water.”
“Okay.”
Feng Mengmeng brought two glasses of water, a luxury.
But when she served Tang Ze, she bowed a little lower, giving him a glimpse of her cleavage.
Xi Meng, sipping her tea, saw this. Although his girlfriend was sweet and cute, men were men. The thrill of the forbidden was more exciting than the familiar.
As Feng Mengmeng left, Xi Meng smiled at Tang Ze, who looked down shyly.
He reminded her of the new graduates in her company. People like him were easy to control.
“Tang Ze, if you need anything, just tell me. Don’t be shy.”
Tang Ze nodded vigorously. “Everything’s fine, thank you for your concern.”
“Don’t be so formal. You’re about my brother’s age. From now on, you can call me Sister Xi.”
Tang Ze’s lips twitched. Did she have to make things so complicated, with this “sister, brother” business?
“I couldn’t.”
He said with a bashful look.
“What’s there to be shy about? Call me ‘Sister’ now.”
Tang Ze put on a perfect performance of awkwardness. Ye Qingyi would have been impressed; he could have graduated from a top drama school.
“Sister… Xi…”
He finally managed to say it.
Xi Meng was satisfied. “See? You said it. From now on, you’re my brother. Don’t be afraid, your sister is here.”
Just then, Fu Qi came out of the bedroom and smiled. “So you’ve adopted a brother? Does that make me a brother-in-law?”
“Hello, Brother-in-law.”
Tang Ze stood up and greeted him.
“Haha, sit down, sit down. We’re all family now.”
Tang Ze agreed. This couple is quite cunning, much more so than Bi Jian and Cao Yu.
“You two siblings can chat. I’m going for a walk.”
Fu Qi smiled, took a sip of water, and left.
As soon as he was gone, Xi Meng shook her head helplessly. “Your brother-in-law, always going out to brag to the other men at a time like this.”
“I often brag too.”
Tang Ze chuckled, scratching his head.
“Brother, I have something to ask you, something very important. You have to answer truthfully.”
Xi Meng looked at him seriously, her eyes twinkling.
“Okay, I won’t lie to you, Sister Xi.”
Tang Ze’s posture was like that of a schoolboy, his hands on his knees.
“If I were your enemy, sitting here, could you kill me instantly?”
“Huh? Is it that simple?”
Hearing his answer, Xi Meng thought he was bluffing. Young people were always like this. “Brother, don’t boast.”
