A New Life, Yet Still Bound by Her Love 113p1

Chapter 113p1: Moonlight

Su Yu walked to the window and looked out at the fading lights of the residential buildings. There was no moon in the deep night sky, only thick layers of clouds, not a single ray of moonlight able to break through. It was a pitch-black scene, with a few dim, flickering streetlights below. The mournful meow of a cat sounded desolate and bleak, as if he had suddenly entered an abandoned building, inexplicably eerie.

It was late when they left the hospital. They couldn’t find a suitable guesthouse and had to settle for a not-so-good hotel, a double room.

He watched for a while, suppressing the inexplicable unease in his heart, and then drew the curtains. The cold, white fluorescent light was blocked out. He turned around. The small bedroom had two beds, less than a meter apart, the narrow space a bit ambiguous.

The bedside lamp cast a warm, yellow glow. The window couldn’t be closed completely, and cold wind kept seeping in. But fortunately, the old-fashioned floor-standing air conditioner in the corner still had a heating function and was currently blowing warm air, the red string hanging from the vent dancing in the wind.

When people get warm, they tend to get sleepy. Su Yu had spent the whole day at the amusement park and had been dragging Xia Qian Ge around. The warm breeze on his face was like a signal to hibernate. He was so tired he wanted to fall asleep right away.

Su Yu looked at Xia Qian Ge, who was curled up in her bed, sleeping soundly. The part of her body that was exposed was very thin, like a blade of grass, tough in the wind, yet also bent by its own softness.

The girl had taken off her jacket, revealing a thin camisole underneath.

The straps were very thin. As she tossed and turned uneasily, a stretch of snow-white skin was revealed.

The unease in his heart dissipated in an instant, his thoughts now focused on the girl’s small movements.

Actually, the girl had a very good figure, but she usually wore loose, casual clothes.

She would also often hunch her shoulders slightly out of self-consciousness, making it hard to see the impressive assets she had.

Xia Qian Ge suddenly twitched her small, perky nose and turned over completely. The blanket was pushed to one side, and the chest under the thin fabric suddenly became a turbulent wave. The curve of her chest was taut, creating a shallow groove where it was pressed against her.

Su Yu’s pupils constricted. He quickly averted his gaze, feeling the drowsiness in his mind dissipate. He silently walked to the girl’s bed and pulled the blanket back over her, covering the exposed spring scenery.

He stared at the girl’s serene sleeping face in a daze and couldn’t help but reach out with trembling fingers, approaching the corner of her mouth to brush aside a strand of hair. His fingertips slid over her fair and delicate skin. The girl hadn’t had a chance to remove her makeup, and the beautiful makeup was a little smudged on the bedding, like a little calico cat dozing in its nest.

Perhaps the little calico cat sensed something warmer in its dream. It stuck out its small, pink tongue and bit Su Yu’s finger, its slightly protruding canine teeth grinding against it. He pulled his hand back as if electrocuted and watched as the little calico cat licked its lips, as if it wanted more. He felt a heat in his nose, as if a fire was igniting his blood.

Su Yu ran to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face, which only slightly quelled the flames. He turned off the light completely. The bedroom was pitch black, and he couldn’t see the girl’s face. He tiptoed to his bed and wrapped himself tightly in the blanket, as if he were tying himself up with ropes, to prevent himself from doing something irreversible.

The soft and glutinous touch on his fingertip was like a small brush falling into his heart, creating a tickling sensation that was hard to bear. He forcefully turned over, his back to the girl. The drowsiness was also heavy and soon defeated the ambiguous feelings in his heart. He fell into a deep sleep.

The window, which couldn’t be closed completely, let in a constant, faint breeze throughout the night, rustling the corner of the curtain.
The moon had emerged from behind the clouds at some point, its cool light pouring into the room.
It fell upon the girl’s skin, which was exposed outside the blanket, like a layer of white frost.

Her skin appeared even more fair and delicate.

In the dark bedroom, the girl huddled in her bed suddenly opened her eyes, her dark pupils glowing in the darkness. She reached out with her slender arm and turned the knob of the bedside lamp. The light was adjusted to just the right brightness, a little dim, but just enough to see the boy sleeping soundly on the other bed. The boy had turned over at some point, his sleeping face now facing her.

The nagging pain in her injured ankle was gone. Xia Qian Ge slowly lifted the blanket and crawled out of bed, inching closer. Her breath made the boy’s bangs flutter gently.

She felt a strange sense of disappointment, a little sad that her body hadn’t seemed to tempt the boy much. But his reaction still pleased her. The finger she had held in her mouth had been pulled back as if electrocuted, his now-heated breath brushing against her face. He had even gone to the bathroom to splash cold water on himself. She closed her eyes, committing all these subtle sensations to memory.

“Su Yu…”

Xia Qian Ge whispered softly in his ear, but the boy remained in a deep sleep.

She reached out with her finger, gently tracing his forehead, her movements as delicate as if she were appraising a priceless work of art. Her fingertip slid down the bridge of his handsome nose, brushing past the corner of his lips, lingering for a moment before continuing down along his Adam’s apple, into the hollow of his neck, caressing his collarbone, sketching a rough outline in her mind.

The boy’s body was warm, his skin smooth to the touch, his heart beating steadily.

This was him, alive. Xia Qian Ge thought to herself, it would be great if the boy couldn’t resist and pounced on her. Then she would give herself to him completely, body and soul.

Or, it would be fine if she pounced on him. She wanted to bite the boy’s lips.

The boy’s current vulnerability always aroused the possessiveness hidden in her heart. On the one hand, she loved the boy and wanted to give him freedom. On the other hand, she wanted to possess him, to imprison him in an iron cage, so that he could only look at her, forever becoming her personal canary.

Perhaps it was because she was too tired, or perhaps it was the effect of the medicine. This time, the desire to possess was not mixed with any carnal desire. It was just because she loved him. Because of this, she began to hesitate, the contradiction making her even more confused.

Xia Qian-ge felt that she was truly terminally ill. The desire to expose her fiery, deep, and twisted emotions was surging. She wanted to tell the boy her crazy idea of falling in love with him and possessing him alone.

But she didn’t dare. She knew that her terrible possessiveness and desire for control were like a lonely island with a strange light in an uninhabited sea. It was as if she were about to become a parasitic body for some kind of monster, craving to drag the boy into the abyss and imprison him on the island.

The boy might be scared, flee, and even hate her. The consequences of such a mistake were something she couldn’t bear. Once she failed, she would fall completely into hell. She couldn’t imagine what kind of insane things she would do then, but her appearance would definitely be ugly. She didn’t want the boy to see her ugly side.

Xia Qian Ge stared at the boy’s lips, the desire in her heart stirring. She knew that such an opportunity was fleeting, but…

She sat in the darkness for a long time, her bright red lips bitten until they were dripping with blood. She knelt up and gently placed a kiss on the boy’s smooth forehead, a light, moist, and fragrant kiss, like a night-blooming cereus opening its delicate petals in the darkness, fleeting, yet the lingering love was still deep and obsessive.
