Chapter 51 p2
Huang Li sat in the room, her heart pounding like a drum.
In all her life, this was her first time in an interrogation room.
The interrogation process of the federal police, she had only seen it on TV before. Now that she was in the position of being interrogated, she was restless and very scared.
She wasn’t wearing handcuffs, and her clothes were just a vest that the interrogated had to wear.
It was a very light thing, but on her, it felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, making it difficult for her to breathe.
Jiangbei was the country’s leading metropolis, with a strong police force.
There were many notorious criminals. If they were sent to the Jiangbei police station, few could escape conviction. In other words, those who came in would basically be sentenced.
Huang Li was terrified. She had just made a deal with Director Fang. There were many people in the market who did this kind of thing, especially in business entertainment. Why was she the one who got into trouble?
It wasn’t just her who had gotten into trouble—she had done many such things in the past, and nothing had ever happened. And the stakes hadn’t been as high as Director Fang’s. Sometimes the trouble she had caused was even bigger, but Huang Li had never been caught.
But, why had she failed this time?
Huang Li couldn’t figure it out.
The interrogation room had been specially modified, probably to consider the effect on the suspect. The lighting was very strange. Huang Li felt very scared just sitting there.
She had been summoned here for twenty minutes. She didn’t know who was coming to see her, who was coming to interrogate her.
She was making up an excuse in her mind.
Suddenly, a rustling of footsteps came from outside the railing, and a federal police officer in a formal uniform strode in.
The badge on the federal police officer’s uniform would indicate their identity.
The police officer in front of her was an Alpha. From her figure, Huang Li had roughly guessed.
Her rank was not low. Her name was Yan Yixue.
Yan Yixue walked in with a solemn expression, a blue folder tucked under her arm.
She stood there, looking down at Huang Li with a blank expression, and asked, “Name?”
As she spoke, she pulled out the folder from under her arm.
Huang Li’s heart sank even further.
Is this the Jiangbei police station? A random interrogating police officer has such a high rank?
She hadn’t done anything heinous. Was it necessary to make such a big deal out of a small fry like her?
Ji Ping had been brought in with her. She didn’t know what had happened to him.
Huang Li was now full of regret. She now hated Ji Ping to death. If it weren’t for this person constantly instigating her to go after Su Guan, she wouldn’t be in this situation today!
“Huang Li,” she quickly replied to the police officer.
The police officer looked at her indifferently and said lightly, “Gender, age, date of birth. Be quick.”
She’s even complaining that I’m slow! Huang Li was very scared. She poured out the rest of her words and finally pleaded pitifully, “Officer sister, please have pity on me. What did I do wrong? Why am I locked up here?”
The police officer was well-trained and naturally immune to such words.
She glanced at Huang Li and said, “You’re here because you’re a suspect.”
I know I’m a suspect!
Huang Li grumbled internally but could only continue to smile apologetically. “Yes, good sister, I know I did something wrong. I just want to know, when can I get out?”
The police officer shook her head, took a stool, and sat in front of Huang Li, separated by the iron bars. “We have to interrogate you first. As for when you can get out, it depends on the result. If the prosecutor files a lawsuit, after you get out, you’ll be going to prison.”
The smile on Huang Li’s face froze. She gave a dry laugh. “Is that so? I’ll be sued?”
She was just a small fry. What was the point of suing her?!
But, from what the police officer had just said, the prosecutor hadn’t filed a lawsuit yet, right? Which meant she still had a chance?
A dead horse as a living horse to be treated. Huang Li thought.
Although she had long heard of the grim situation here, she believed that bad luck wouldn’t always fall on her.
She had failed in a small matter of business entertainment. A big matter like going to prison shouldn’t be her turn, right?
“Well, it’s possible,” the police officer nodded meticulously and opened the folder in her hand. “The interrogation begins now. I’ll ask a question, and you’ll answer. There are cameras. Watch your words.”
Huang Li nodded frantically.
She would definitely watch her words. She was still young and didn’t want to waste her future and fate here.
And there were cameras here. Even if someone wanted to harm her, they wouldn’t be able to force a confession out of her, right?
“First question, what was the purpose of your gathering that night?” the police officer asked.
Huang Li replied, first trying to change the subject, but the police officer was clearly very experienced and directly interrupted her. “Tell me the truth.”
Huang Li was choked and could only say that it was a business entertainment. Who would have known that the police officer would retort, “If it was just a business entertainment, how did we detect illegal drugs?”
It’s over! Huang Li suddenly remembered that this was her habit—to force others to submit, she would usually find someone to buy the corresponding stimulant. For example, this time, Su Guan was an Alpha, so she had bought an Alpha’s.
She hadn’t expected the police to find out about this?
Huang Li was afraid that this matter would escalate, so she directly admitted it. She was afraid that her previous actions would also be discovered.
Regarding what had happened that night, Huang Li was honest, but she still blamed it on Ji Ping and others who had instructed her to do so.
“Good sister, I’m telling you, I didn’t want to do these things. I was mainly listening to others. Others told me to do it, so I was momentarily possessed! If anything big happened, the culprit definitely can’t be me. And nothing big happened at the scene…”
The police officer was unmoved, just buried her head and meticulously took notes, letting Huang Li twist the truth as she pleased.
After the police officer had finished taking notes, Huang Li took a breath and then said nervously, “Good sister, you’ve finished taking notes. Can I go out for a bit?”
The police officer capped her pen, looked up at Huang Li in surprise, and nodded. “You can.”
Huang Li was stunned, overjoyed. “Thank you, thank you! Thank you!”
The police officer didn’t say anything, just stood up and opened the door for Huang Li.
As the iron chains clanged, Huang Li was still happy. Then she happily went into the yard.
The police officer behind her’s face darkened.
She had come to take notes, and it was for that person.
When Gu Yixi received this record, she was in the middle of a meeting at the company.
So she didn’t have much time to look at it in detail.
During a break, she glanced at the report.
Perhaps knowing that she was busy, besides this record, there was also a comment: most of it was to exonerate herself, blaming Ji Ping and Director Fang.
Although it was in plain language, it was indeed the truth.
Gu Yixi sneered and muttered to herself, “Since she can be blamed, then this Ji Ping is also responsible.”
Just by Huang Li, a supervisor who had just been parachuted in, to be able to trick people so easily was obviously not realistic. It was most likely that someone had helped and instigated her.
And at this time, she was still thinking about shifting the blame and hadn’t expressed any apology.
Gu Yixi decided to add some more punishment to her, to them.
She issued a new order.
…
Huang Li excitedly walked out of the interrogation room. Just as she was eagerly breathing in the fresh air, she saw a familiar figure.
She knew this person. Her surname was Cui. She was her colleague, and even more so, her competitor. She was currently the deputy supervisor.
Supervisor Cui was well-dressed today, her hair shiny. When she saw Huang Li come out, she looked at her with a smile and greeted her strangely, “Isn’t this Little Huang?”
Huang Li, a career person, was very sensitive to changes in address.
She hesitated for a moment, thinking about the police officer’s reaction to her just now. It should be fine!
So she coughed twice and put on her usual air. “What’s wrong, Deputy Supervisor Cui? We’ve changed places, and even the form of address has changed?”
She deliberately emphasized the last part of her sentence.
Supervisor Cui giggled. “Of course. I’m calling you Little Huang, doesn’t that mean I know you?”
Huang Li suddenly realized something. In other words…
Her position had been taken?
How was that possible?
