Chapter 41p1
The air briefly froze.
Xu Qingtang felt it was hard to breathe.
Her bathrobe, not tied securely, almost fell off. She fumbled to wrap it around herself, looked at Gu’s aunt with shame, and said, “You, you have some tea first.” With that, she turned and went into the room.
Once back in the room, Xu Qingtang buried her head in the pillow.
This time, she really felt she could cry until the pillow sprouted.
There was a sound at the door.
Xu Qingtang tilted her chin up slightly, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw Gu Yizhi push the door open and come in. Her face fell, and she buried it again, pulling the blanket over herself. “Leave me alone. Just consider me dead.”
Gu Yizhi lifted a corner of the blanket and met the pair of dark, bright eyes inside. She smiled. “It’s quite cute. What’s there to be embarrassed about?”
“Cute?” Xu Qingtang sneered. “I have no face to live anymore.”
“Auntie knew you were injured, so she came to see you.”
Xu Qingtang’s muffled voice came from inside. “Then you can say I have a terminal illness and have died.”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Gu Yizhi pinched her cheek, her tone a little more serious. “Don’t talk nonsense.”
Xu Qingtang shook her head. “People who haven’t experienced it won’t understand.” She looked at Gu Yizhi faintly. “One day, if you have a social death in public, you’ll understand.”
Gu Yizhi pulled her out from under the blanket and suddenly smiled with an unclear meaning. “Haven’t I?”
Xu Qingtang: “Have you?”
She was a little excited. “Tell me.”
Gu Yizhi: “The time you forcibly kissed me at the bar.”
Xu Qingtang: …
“It tasted pretty good. I don’t think it’s embarrassing,” Gu Yizhi’s face was pressed against hers, her eyes curved. “Xu Tangtang, shall we do it again?”
“Don’t mess around. Your aunt is still here…” Xu Qingtang gently pushed her away. Thinking of this, her mood was complicated and wistful. “Just let me keep a tiny bit of face.”
Gu Yizhi tilted her head, a lock of black curly hair falling down, her red lips slightly pursed. “Isn’t it more exciting when there’s someone here?”
Xu Qingtang finally understood what it meant to lift a rock only to drop it on her own foot. She whispered that she was just bluffing, but Gu Yizhi leaned over, kissed her on the lips, and gave her conclusion, “It is quite exciting.”
Xu Qingtang felt she was about to go numb.
After kissing in the room for a while, Xu Qingtang finally remembered the important matter. She stood up and walked out. “Don’t let your aunt wait outside for too long. It’s not good.”
Who knew that just as she reached the door, her wrist was grabbed by Gu Yizhi. The next second, she was pressed against the door, her hands held above her head. Xu Qingtang couldn’t help but lower her voice. “What are you doing?”
“You.”
Xu Qingtang’s heart pounded, and she could only weakly emphasize, “There’s someone here!”
In the end, she was kissed until she was dizzy. The moment she opened the door, Xu Qingtang deliberately cleared her throat to show that the two of them had done nothing in the room and were very innocent.
But when she glanced over, there was no one in the living room, not even a dog hair.
“Where’s your aunt?”
Gu Yizhi: “She’s already left.”
Xu Qingtang immediately understood. “Alright, Gu Yizhi. You were scaring me?”
She had just been kissing as if she were having an affair.
“Do you not want to sleep in the bed tonight?”
Gu Yizhi thought for a moment. “Other places are also fine.”
Xu Qingtang: “You don’t mean anything else by that, do you?”
Gu Yizhi: “It’s exactly what you think.”
Xu Qingtang: “…I wasn’t thinking anything.”
Gu Yizhi held her face and smiled. “After all, Miss Xu has always been very good at it.”
Someone kept saying “Miss Xu is very good at it,” but Xu Qingtang felt that a certain Miss Gu was also very good at it.
Gu Yizhi leaned into her arms and kissed her along the side of her neck, her voice carrying a warm breath. “I haven’t taken a shower yet.”
Xu Qingtang said like a gentleman, “Then go and take one.”
“Come with me.”
Xu Qingtang shivered all over. This time, she couldn’t pretend to be a gentleman anymore. She felt that if she still acted like a person now, she would have quite a bottom line.
Perhaps it was because of the hot water, but after coming out of the bathroom, neither of them wanted to move much. They lay on the bed, listening to each other’s light breathing, and with the sound of the rain coming in from outside the window, there was an unexpected sense of quiet beauty.
After a while, Xu Qingtang turned over and hugged Gu Yizhi’s waist, resting her head on her shoulder. Before she could speak, Gu Yizhi raised her hand and touched her face. “Wait for me.”
Xu Qingtang propped herself up and watched Gu Yizhi take out various medicines from the medicine box, all of which she had just gotten from the hospital.
Gu Yizhi walked to the side of the bed, lifted the blanket, and Xu Qingtang’s two long, crossed legs were exposed. She said softly, “Stretch them out. I’ll put some medicine on them before you sleep.”
Xu Qingtang seemed to have figured something out. “So that was a honey trap just now.”
Gu Yizhi’s lips curled into a smile. “Isn’t it a bit late to realize it now?”
“It’s late, it’s late,” Xu Qingtang said seriously. “Not only have I lost the city, but I’m also yours.”
Gu Yizhi’s movements when applying the medicine were very gentle, but Xu Qingtang was still hurt a little. In fact, she had always been able to endure pain, but in front of Gu Yizhi, she couldn’t help but be a little coquettish here and there.
The direct result of being coquettish was that they did it again.
In the end, Xu Qingtang rested her chin on Gu Yizhi’s thick, soft curly hair, her eyes slightly closed, and said, “Gu Yizhi.”
Gu Yizhi: “I’m here.”
Xu Qingtang hugged her and mumbled, “I like you so much.”
Gu Yizhi also hugged her and hummed softly in response.
Xu Qingtang was a little sleepy. She opened her eyes a little. The warm orange light made Gu Yizhi’s face soft and gradually blurry. “No matter what others say, don’t believe them. Don’t believe, don’t believe…”
Gu Yizhi pulled the blanket on her body up to make her sleep better. “Alright.”
She didn’t know if it was because she hadn’t slept well at night and had bumped into something, but when Xu Qingtang woke up the next day, her knee hurt a lot. She also received an invitation from Tang Gui to have a meal.
Tang Gui suggested having hotpot. Just as Xu Qingtang was about to agree, Gu Yizhi, who was at the table, tapping on her laptop and busy with work, suddenly looked up at her.
Just one glance, and Xu Qingtang understood the meaning.
She refused with a heavy heart. “Let’s have something else.”
“Barbecue?”
A second glance came over.
Xu Qingtang continued to endure the pain.
Tang Gui: “Then you say.”
Xu Qingtang: “Let’s have something light.”
The third glance finally didn’t come. Tang Gui, on the other hand, was extremely surprised. Xu Qingtang had to explain, “My knee is injured. It won’t heal as easily if I eat something too heavy.”
Tang Gui agreed and then said with emotion that a good relationship was indeed different. Xu Qingtang was full of question marks. “What does this have to do with being in a relationship or not?”
Tang Gui listed her past crimes one by one and scoffed. “Who was the one who wanted to eat pervertedly spicy food during her period? Who was the one who ran around with a sprained ankle? Who was the one who dared to drink with a stomachache? Oh, it’s definitely not our Xu Qingtang.”
Xu Qingtang was speechless. In the end, she still managed to save a little face. “I’m getting old and sentimental. Of course, I have to learn to take care of my health.”
Tang Gui snorted.
In the end, the two of them stuck to their original plan, but without any meat or spicy food. Xu Qingtang hung up the phone and gently leaned against Gu Yizhi. On the screen was an email that was being processed. Xu Qingtang wasn’t very interested, just staring at Gu Yizhi’s face.
When Gu Yizhi was working, she was used to wearing a pair of thin, gold-rimmed glasses. Only when you got close could you see the lines in her pupils. Just as Xu Qingtang was observing, Gu Yizhi suddenly looked up. “What are you doing?”
Xu Qingtang answered honestly, “Counting your eyes.”
Gu Yizhi: “Eyes?”
Xu Qingtang: “How many lines are in your pupils.”
Gu Yizhi: “Finished counting?”
Xu Qingtang: “No.” She explained, “I might have to get a little closer.”
Every time she counted to twenty or thirty, she would always make a mistake.
Gu Yizhi said, amused, “You’re so patient with others. Why aren’t you a little better to yourself?”
Xu Qingtang felt that she was actually quite good to herself. She could be considered a person who put herself first. The consequences of those things were all within her tolerance.
For example, today’s hotpot was one of them. In fact, she really didn’t mind the spicy pot.
But when she thought of the way Gu Yizhi had looked at her last night, even when they were doing it, she had carefully avoided her wound. She suddenly really wanted to cherish herself a little more.
Xu Qingtang sat directly on Gu Yizhi’s lap, buried her head in her shoulder and neck, and hummed shamelessly, “How can Gu Zhizhi be someone else?”
Gu Yizhi held her, her face helpless. “All you have left is your mouth.”
Xu Qingtang swayed and licked her lips. “I can’t help it. Who made someone need to be coaxed?”
Gu Yizhi held her tighter. “Someone?”
Xu Qingtang ignored her subtle threat. “A certain someone Gu.”
The certain someone Gu smiled again. “Actually, it’s not just for coaxing.”
“What else can it do?”
Then, Xu Qingtang learned another name for the mouth.
