Chapter 149: Fertilizer Flower
Zhang Can’er led the three of them on a killing spree. The screams and cries in her ears made her murderous intent even stronger.
She had originally wanted to investigate what was going on here, but the voices of these things were really too unpleasant. If they had been even a little bit better, Zhang Can’er felt that she could have endured it.
After walking around the center of this place, Zhang Can’er looked left and right and found that in the very center, many plants were gathered.
The closer she got, the noisier the sound became, like a demonic sound piercing her ears, which almost made Zhang Can’er lose her reason.
She walked over with her knife and said loudly, “It’s so noisy! All of you, shut up! Otherwise, I’ll burn you all with one fire!”
Instantly, the place fell silent. One could hear a pin drop.
The three plants standing in the very center walked out, looking as if they wanted to negotiate. But the meatball flowers on top of them couldn’t help but drool a lot, mixed with the turbid mucus, looking as disgusting as could be.
Zhang Can’er closed her eyes. When she opened them again, it was as if she had made a decision. She raised her knife, pointed at the one in the very middle, and asked, “What are you?”
The response she got was silence. The meatball flower in the very middle, as if it had a pair of real eyes, stared straight at Zhang Can’er.
Zhang Can’er didn’t really want to know what they were. And she didn’t really want to hear that unpleasant voice. Just as she was about to use a Fire Chili to solve these things, the meatball flower, which had been silent for a long time, spoke.
“You can hear us?”
Zhang Can’er’s brow furrowed tightly. She suppressed the emotions in her heart and replied, “Isn’t it obvious? If you talk any more nonsense, I’ll burn you all with one fire.”
“We didn’t hurt you. Why are you doing this to us?”
“Because you don’t belong to this world.”
“How do we not belong? Now the outside is full of our kind. You humans are only left with the last piece of land to live on.”
These words made the anger of the four of them rise in a straight line.
“Good, very good.”
Zhang Can’er directly threw out a Fire Chili. Instantly, a large fire engulfed the group of meatball flowers in front.
The leading one instinctively knew that it had said the wrong thing, but it was already too late. Seeing that more than half of its subordinates had died again, it shouted loudly, “I’m sorry! I apologize. Please show mercy and don’t kill anymore.”
Zhang Can’er went straight for it, and a flaming knife was placed on the meatball flower. “Tell me, what are you?”
“I, we are flowers developed by a group of people in black robes. They named us Fertilizer Flowers because we can turn the flesh of our kind into fertilizer to nourish those crops, and, and also humans.”
Zhang Can’er rubbed her temples and barely managed to listen to this passage.
“You feed on humans?”
The Fertilizer Flower’s leaves trembled. Seeing the flaming knife getting closer and closer to it, its voice couldn’t help but tremble.
“To, to be precise, we feed on human blood. Of course, we can also use the blood of our own kind.” It’s just that it’s not very tasty.
The Fertilizer Flower didn’t dare to say the words in its heart. It stared at Zhang Can’er in fear. It had said what it should have. This person wouldn’t kill it, right?
Zhang Can’er glanced at the Fertilizer Flower, which was trembling like a sieve, and put away her knife.
An idea came to her mind.
Looking at the remaining dozen or so Fertilizer Flowers, she turned to look at Ke Yajun and asked, “Is there any device that can transport these things back to the Federation? And the bats outside.”
Ke Yajun looked at the circle of these plants around her. An idea came to her mind, but she was a little heartbroken that the good parts she had just gotten would have to be used on this group of plants.
She hadn’t even warmed up these parts, and she had to use them. Alas…
“I just thought of an excellent thing,” Ke Yajun replied.
“That…”
The Fertilizer Flower had just said two words when Zhang Can’er’s gaze shot over. “If I don’t let you speak, then you shut up. Your voices are so unpleasant. You still have the nerve to speak.”
The Fertilizer Flower was stunned for a moment, and then it became a little depressed. The meatball flower on top actually shed some tears. But the tears and the turbid mucus were mixed together, and it was impossible to tell that they were tears.
Zhang Can’t was too lazy to even glance at it. Its voice was disgusting, and its appearance was also disgusting. These things could be remade.
Afterward, Ke Yajun and Zhuang Jiayuan tied up those plants. In the middle, Zhang Can’er couldn’t stand it and cut a few more, which finally made these things completely shut up. By the way, she also told the other three what had been said.
After controlling this group of plants, Ke Yajun and Zhuang Jiayuan were responsible for guarding them and, by the way, getting the device out.
Zhang Can’er and Wan Feng searched the surroundings, focusing on the biological research room.
The data inside had been destroyed, and many machines had been smashed. Needless to say, it was done by that group of wizards.
Zhang Can’er searched everywhere in the messy research room, trying to find some more traces. But this place had been destroyed too cleanly. Not even a single ordinary test tube was left.
There were no traces of test tubes being smashed on the ground. Except for the instruments, there were almost no biological samples.
Zhang Can’er was a little dumbfounded. “This group of people really don’t leave any chance.”
Wan Feng stared at a large plant viewing tank in front of her. There was nothing inside, not even a single grain of sand. She nodded and agreed, “They didn’t even leave us a single grain of sand.”
Zhang Can’er chuckled softly. “Isn’t that right? They’ve cleaned up so cleanly.”
However, the two of them had the same doubt in their hearts. Since nothing was left in the biological research room, what was the deal with the Fertilizer Flowers and the bats outside?
With the cautiousness of that group of wizards, it should have been impossible for them to leave those things behind.
When Zhang Can’er and Wan Feng walked out of the biological research room, they heard Ke Yajun’s howl. “Damn! Why did it explode? Sister Can! Sister Feng! You guys, come out quickly!”
The two of them quickly ran over and then saw the group of tied Fertilizer Flowers exploding one by one at a slow speed.
When the meatball flower on top exploded, the turbid and light green mucus sprayed around, which made the nearby Fertilizer Flowers panic.
“What’s going on?” Zhang Can’er asked.
Ke Yajun pulled Zhuang Jiayuan and stood far away. Seeing Zhang Can’er and Wan Feng, she jogged over. Hearing Zhang Can’er’s question, she shook her head. “I don’t know. I was studying the device, and Yuan Yuan suddenly pulled me up and ran with me. When I looked back, I saw a Fertilizer Flower explode without any warning.”
Zhuang Jiayuan explained at the right time, “Those Fertilizer Flowers were a little restless after you left, so I used a fire knife to deter them. Only then did they quiet down a little. But before long, the slightly larger Fertilizer Flower in the very back suddenly puffed up the meatball flower on top, so I quickly took Yajun away. That’s what happened.”
