Panda Cub, So Cute and Fierce 6

Chapter 6: No Puppy Love

========================

The next morning, He Jingsu was sprawled out asleep, the little fluffy bird on her belly rising and falling with her breaths, as if resting on a gentle rocking chair, peaceful and content.

Bei Queting opened her eyes, and soon after, the school’s wake-up bell rang. She transformed into her human form and picked up the still-drowsy panda cub, beginning to help her with her morning stretches.

“Daidai, time to get up,” Bei Queting said gently.

He Jingsu, being stretched by Bei Queting, felt extremely comfortable. She let out a couple of soft grunts and yawned, “Beibei, morning.”

“Morning. What do you want for breakfast?” Xingzhi High didn’t have morning exercises, so they had a rare bit of extra time in the mornings.

“Milk~” He Jingsu mumbled.

Bei Queting pulled the panda cub’s two paws to stretch them out, a sudden pang of regret in her heart. If only I knew how to make the milk He Jingsu likes.

“Just make do for now. We’ll be home for lunch,” Bei Queting’s voice was a little low.

“Mhm~” He Jingsu nodded her panda head, continuing to lie limp and let Bei Queting stretch her.

Once the stretching was done, she teleported back to her own dorm.

When Bei Queting got out of bed, Xia Mu had already finished washing up. She gave her a shy smile and left.

Bei Queting didn’t mind this kind of interaction at all; in fact, she found it very comfortable. Figuring He Jingsu wouldn’t be ready so quickly, she took her time getting ready, moving at a leisurely pace.

Back in her dorm, He Jingsu climbed out of bed. The room was still quiet. She walked over to Qiu Si’s bed and tapped on the railing. “Si Si, time to get up!”

“Mmm~” A drowsy reply came from behind the bed curtain. It was clear she didn’t want to get up either.

Though reluctant, the thought of breakfast made her sit up and pull back the curtain. She looked down at He Jingsu. “Daidai, morning.”

“Mhm, mhm, hurry up. Beibei will be here soon.” With that, she ran to the balcony to wash up.

Qiu Si rubbed her face to wake herself up, then got out of bed and stood next to He Jingsu to wash up.

Even though it was the second day of school, they were still used to sleeping in during the summer break and hadn’t quite adjusted to waking up so early.

Just as they finished, there was a knock at the door. They both looked up to see a tall girl standing there, smiling brightly at Qiu Si.

Qiu Si was speechless.

He Jingsu, who had been expecting Bei Queting, saw her face fall. She turned away, uninterested, and went to change her clothes.

Hai Yuesheng was confused. “???”

“Is that how you greet me?” Hai Yuesheng said, displeased. She came in, sat backward on Qiu Si’s chair, and rested her arms on the backrest, propping up her head. She looked at Qiu Si with puppy-dog eyes. “What are you having for breakfast?”

Qiu Si initially wanted to ignore her, but seeing her shameless act, her fair little cheeks puffed out. “Why should I tell you!”

This person is so clingy. Doesn’t she have any friends?

“So I can learn your preferences and take better care of you in the future!” Hai Yuesheng said, blinking matter-of-factly.

“Who needs you to take care of them!” Qiu Si’s ears turned slightly red. She huffed and ignored her, going to change her clothes.

Seeing Qiu Si’s reaction, Hai Yuesheng didn’t feel awkward at all. Instead, she squinted and smiled, resting her chin on her arms, looking perfectly content.

When He Jingsu came out, she saw this and couldn’t understand why a senior would always come looking for a student a year below her.

However, when Hai Yuesheng saw He Jingsu, her eyes lit up. She quickly pinched the hem of He Jingsu’s shirt between her thumb and forefinger, gently tugging to get her attention. Then, with an eager-to-please smile, she asked, “Junior He, is there any breakfast you particularly like?”

He Jingsu froze for a moment, her mind a complete blank, wondering why she was suddenly asking what she liked to eat. But before she could speak, the fingers on her shirt were flicked away. A fair, slender hand gently smoothed out the barely visible wrinkle.

“Senior, you don’t need to worry about what Daidai likes to eat,” Bei Queting’s voice was cool as she looked calmly at Hai Yuesheng.

Seeing that look, Hai Yuesheng instinctively backed away from He Jingsu, a flash of confusion in her eyes. She couldn’t help but wonder, I just tugged her shirt a little, and I was very careful! Why is Bei Queting reacting so strangely?

Aren’t they foster sisters?

Seeing Hai Yuesheng’s expression, Bei Queting also realized she had overreacted. She lowered her gaze. She didn’t know why she had done that; it had been a subconscious reaction.

Just then, Qiu Si came out. Seeing the strange atmosphere, she asked, “Why is no one talking?”

Seeing Qiu Si was like seeing a savior. Hai Yuesheng rushed over, holding her arm and whining, “Si Si, let’s go get breakfast together!”

“Don’t you have any friends to go with you!” Qiu Si frowned, trying to pull her arm free.

“Si Si~ I just want to go with you~” Hai Yuesheng whined, bending down to nuzzle her shoulder, batting her eyelashes.

The other two watched this scene and, in a tacit understanding, looked away. Bei Queting turned to He Jingsu. “Are you ready? If so, let’s head to the cafeteria first.”

“Huh? Aren’t we waiting for Si Si?” He Jingsu asked, a little bewildered.

Hai Yuesheng, on the other side, overheard this and quickly said, “Wait, wait! I’ll go with you all!” With that, she pushed Qiu Si into a chair and even tried to kneel down to help her change her shoes.

“I don’t need your help!” Qiu Si’s face turned completely red this time. Does this person even know what she’s doing!

“Okay, then hurry up,” Hai Yuesheng said, not finding it awkward at all. She smiled as she looked at her fair little face, which had no intimidating power even when angry.

“You should change your shoes too,” Bei Queting said to He Jingsu with some resignation. Hai Yuesheng really didn’t seem to mind losing face in front of them.

He Jingsu nodded, her gaze occasionally drifting to Hai Yuesheng, a puzzled look in her eyes.

Isn’t she being a little too weird?

After He Jingsu and Qiu Si had changed their shoes, the other two waited for them to wash their hands before heading to the cafeteria. During the walk, He Jingsu and Bei Queting stayed very close, while on the other side, Qiu Si tried to keep her distance, but Hai Yuesheng kept sticking to her.

Watching Hai Yuesheng’s antics and Qiu Si’s seemingly annoyed but actually shy attitude, Bei Queting’s eyes grew thoughtful.

Suddenly, her sleeve was tugged. She looked at He Jingsu and hummed a questioning note.

“Why is the senior always sticking to Si Si?” He Jingsu asked, confused. This question had been bothering her for a long time!

Bei Queting was speechless for a moment. Finally, she asked, “You really can’t tell that the senior likes Si Si?”

Daidai, Daidai, this is a bit too dazed, isn’t it?

“What?!” He Jingsu’s eyes widened, her already innocent face looking even more bewildered. Her voice was unintentionally loud. Noticing Qiu Si and the others looking over, she quickly lowered her voice and asked Bei Queting, “How do you know?”

Bei Queting replied, “…I just saw it.”

“What?!” He Jingsu was stunned again. How come I didn’t see it!

Seeing her expression, Bei Queting could read her thoughts and chuckled softly. “When have you ever seen the senior treat anyone else the way she treats Si Si?”

He Jingsu was speechless. I don’t usually pay attention to the senior, so how would I know how she treats other people.

Bei Queting reached out and pinched her baby-fat cheeks, smiling. “It’s okay if you can’t tell.”

After all, it’s not you the senior likes.

“But she likes my aunt!” He Jingsu said with a serious face. “My aunt is three months younger than me! This is a crucial time for studying!”

If Si Si gets called in for puppy love, will she get scolded?

Hearing her serious and proper words, Bei Queting was silent for a moment, then asked, “So you think it’s best not to date at all during high school?”

“Isn’t that right?” He Jingsu looked at Bei Queting, confused. “Don’t all the teachers say that high school is a very important stage and we can’t be careless?”

Looking into her pure eyes, Bei Queting suddenly didn’t know what to say. But faced with her inquisitive gaze, she relented. “As long as it doesn’t affect your studies, a good relationship should be okay to try, right?” she said, a little uncertainly.

“Of course, if you’re not sure if it’s a good relationship, you can wait until after graduation to consider it.”

He Jingsu scratched her cheek, hesitating. “Is that so?” After a moment, she grabbed Bei Queting’s hand and said seriously, “Then you definitely can’t date! Your grades are so good, you can’t let anyone distract you!”

She looked like a mother afraid her child would go astray.

Bei Queting closed her eyes and hummed a soft “mhm.”

Hearing her agree, He Jingsu turned to look at Qiu Si, wondering how to tell her not to get into a relationship so early and neglect her studies.

In the year she had been in high school, she had never seen a couple caught for puppy love whose studies weren’t affected. Their grades always dropped!

Hai Yuesheng, who was still chatting happily with Qiu Si, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, as if she were being lifted by the scruff of her neck.

She looked around, bewildered, not understanding why she suddenly had that feeling.

The four of them arrived at the cafeteria, found a table, and sat down together. He Jingsu and Bei Queting sat on one side, Qiu Si and Hai Yuesheng on the other. No one looked across the table.

Bei Queting watched He Jingsu peel an egg for her and was suddenly reminded of when she had just been rescued. Back then, on the variety show, when she could only maintain her true form, He Jingsu would peel eggs for her to peck at.

In a flash, twelve years had passed.

And she had been peeling eggs for her for twelve years.

This habit, reinforced over so many years, seemed like it would be very hard to break.

He Jingsu watched the people fawning over the little fluffy bird and felt an instinctual displeasure.

The little fluffy bird was clearly hers. What right did they have to covet her little bird?

She could treat the little bird better than any of them!

As a Northern Long-tailed Tit, Bei Queting was supposed to huddle with other tits for warmth, but she was ostracized. She learned to be cautious from a young age. After being driven out of her flock’s territory, she met a very cute girl.

The girl’s true form was a panda cub with a pair of wings. She was incredibly good to her, letting her run wild.

And she meant that literally—running wild on top of her head.

As Bei Queting nestled on the panda’s head, she thought, I want to be with He Jingsu forever.

Coincidentally, that was exactly what He Jingsu was thinking, too.

A naturally dazed, doting panda with a strong desire to pamper her wife (Gong/Top) x A little fluffy bird who is soft on the outside, strong on the inside, and incredibly possessive (Shou/Bottom).

A sweet, heartwarming story about the daily lives of childhood sweethearts.
