Chapter 16: Handsome
===================
Hearing her words, Hai Yuesheng was stunned. Her face flushed red as she quickly retorted, “I’m a female! Female sea otters don’t commit domestic violence! And we’re very responsible!” As she said the last sentence, her gaze was fixed on Qiu Si.
Qiu Si still had a small frown on her face.
Thinking she didn’t believe her, Hai Yuesheng grew anxious. “Really! The ones that commit domestic violence are the male sea otters! We despise them too!”
“Oh.” Qiu Si suddenly pressed her lips together and let out a small smile.
Hai Yuesheng was speechless. “…You’re teasing me!”
Seeing her like this, she definitely knew that the atrocities were committed by the male sea otters!
Qiu Si smiled gently, not denying it.
Hai Yuesheng huffed. “You still haven’t told me what kind of demon you are!”
Suddenly, two small black ears popped up on Qiu Si’s head. Her face was slightly red as she said shyly, “Actually, I’m not entirely a demon. My mommy is human, and I was born from her, so I’m a half-demon.”
Hai Yuesheng stared blankly at her two small black ears, unable to resist reaching out to touch them. They were soft and fluffy. The small, round ears looked a little familiar.
“Panda?”
“Mhm,” Qiu Si replied softly.
Hai Yuesheng’s eyes instantly lit up. “So cute!” She looked at the two small black ears with sparkling eyes. Perhaps because their owner was shy, they had just twitched slightly. She couldn’t help but give them a little squeeze. Ooh, they feel so good!
“Y-you, that’s enough!” Qiu Si’s face turned red as she retracted her ears. Apart from her family, no one had ever touched her ears.
“Hehe, they’re just so cute,” Hai Yuesheng giggled foolishly. Suddenly remembering her purpose for coming, she asked, “Right! You still haven’t told me what’s wrong with Junior He!”
Qiu Si felt a little helpless and told her what He Jingsu was thinking.
Hai Yuesheng was speechless. Her face instantly fell. She hadn’t even won the girl over yet, and her family didn’t support puppy love. Otter life was hard.
**
When He Jingsu returned, she found Qiu Si still sitting at her desk, looking as if she hadn’t slept at all.
“Si Si, you didn’t take a nap?” He Jingsu asked curiously. She, for one, had had a good sleep.
Qiu Si shook her head and told He Jingsu that Hai Yuesheng was also a demon. Even though she hadn’t sensed any malice from Hai Yuesheng, since they were both demons, it was still necessary to be cautious at times.
“Huh?” He Jingsu’s eyes widened. “Sea otters can be found here too?”
In her impression, weren’t sea otters usually in colder climates?
Qiu Si didn’t know either. She just said, “Remember to tell Little Ting about this too.”
“Mhm, mhm!” He Jingsu nodded repeatedly. Not long after, Bei Queting came down, and He Jingsu told her about it.
“Mhm, but from the looks of Senior Hai, she probably isn’t a bad demon,” Bei Queting said softly. There were still demons who tried to refine other demons to obtain their spiritual energy, but the aura she sensed from Hai Yuesheng was very pure, not like those who followed crooked paths.
“We don’t think she is either. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the initiative to tell me,” Qiu Si said.
“Let’s go to class,” Bei Queting said with a light laugh. She felt that Hai Yuesheng’s move was just a way to add a point in her favor, so that Qiu Si would have one less thing to worry about when faced with her pursuit.
During the afternoon math class, Bei Queting had to go up to the podium to teach. When she stood up, most of the students were well-behaved, just like in the first class. But this time, a few of them started to act up.
Bei Queting glanced at Li Ao, who was sitting in the back, leaning his chair back, and a few of his close friends. They were huddled together, laughing and joking, seemingly oblivious to the fact that it was class time and Bei Queting was already at the podium.
“Before we officially start class, I need to say something.” Bei Queting’s voice was quite calm. She looked at the students of her own age below and said, “I am not your teacher, so I have no obligation to be responsible for your learning. If anyone doesn’t want to listen to my class, you can get up and leave now, or you can sleep. But I will not tolerate any noise.”
Hearing her words, the students all looked toward Li Ao.
“What if we don’t want to leave, but we don’t want to sleep either, and we just want to chat?” Li Ao said, rocking his chair back and forth.
Bei Queting nodded. “So your choice is to maintain the current situation, is that right?”
Li Ao didn’t say anything more, but his attitude remained flippant.
Bei Queting didn’t say anything more either. She just took out her phone, typed something, then turned off the screen. “I’ll repeat this one last time. Those who don’t want to listen can leave. I won’t stop you. If you choose to stay, you must follow my rules.”
“Alright, now everyone please turn your textbooks to page 126.”
Screech—
The harsh sound of a desk scraping against the floor made everyone frown.
Bei Queting looked up indifferently and saw Li Ao’s provocative gaze, as well as the sneers of his friends.
Bei Queting raised a hand to signal the other students to be calm, then lowered her head and calmly organized the materials she would be using for the class.
Seeing that she was being ignored, Li Ao and his friends grew even more annoyed. Just as they were about to act up again, the dean of students walked in with quick steps, heading straight for them with a grim face. “Come with me!”
Li Ao’s eyes widened in an instant when he saw the dean. He looked at Bei Queting on the podium and gritted his teeth. Very good.
“What are you still standing there for!” the dean shouted.
Li Ao and his friends followed the dean out with resentful expressions. The classroom instantly fell silent.
“I’ll say it again. Those who don’t want to listen can sleep, or you can leave now. I won’t pursue the matter. But once I officially start class, if something like what just happened occurs again, I don’t need to say any more, do I?”
A smile appeared on Bei Queting’s face, but it didn’t bring any warmth. Instead, it was chilling.
The other students silently shut up, and even their postures became more upright.
“Very good. Then let’s officially begin class,” Bei Queting said calmly.
This move immediately made everyone understand that she was not to be trifled with, nor was she the type to tolerate being bullied.
After class, her strong and calm demeanor was quickly spread through word of mouth. Those who liked Bei Queting naturally thought she had done a great job and was very cool. Those who disliked her would, of course, think she was abusing her power.
But then again…
“Beibei, you’re so handsome!” He Jingsu’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Bei Queting like a fangirl.
Bei Queting found her gaze rather amusing. It seemed that in her eyes, she could do no wrong.
Even this time, with her seemingly cold-hearted approach.
“But, you’ve made others fall for you. They say they want to have your babies!” He Jingsu said with a profound expression.
