Chapter 25: Dispelling the Daze p3
Most of the dishes were still made by He Ying. Bei Queting made two dishes, a stir-fried green vegetable and a bitter melon with scrambled eggs. They were very simple dishes, but with Jing Dan’s experience as a kitchen disaster, He Ying didn’t dare to relax and stayed by her side to guide her. Fortunately, Bei Queting was more talented than Jing Dan. Although there were some hiccups, it was generally smooth, and the dishes she made were still presentable.
After all, how many kitchen disasters like Jing Dan could there be in the world?
After the dishes were brought to the table, He Jingsu’s gaze fell on the two dishes Bei Queting had made. She didn’t say anything, which made Bei Queting even more nervous.
“Daidai?” she called out nervously.
Across from them, He Ying saw this and wanted to laugh. “Daidai, aren’t you going to try it?”
Jing Dan picked up a dish made by He Ying and ate it, her gaze fixed on Daidai’s reaction, as if she wanted her to be a guinea pig. If she was fine, she could try it too.
“I’m eating!” He Jingsu said quickly. She picked up her chopsticks and reached for the bitter melon with scrambled eggs. The eggs were a little overcooked, but as long as they weren’t burned, they were still edible. She took a bite, and her eyes lit up slightly.
“Beibei, it’s delicious!” With that, she quickly took a large portion and put it in her bowl. From her sincere expression, it really didn’t seem like she was faking it.
Jing Dan muttered to herself, Is it really that good? After all, it’s her first time cooking.
Seeing her like this, Bei Queting also smiled faintly. She also took a bite to try.
Mmm…
It was actually a very ordinary taste, not even as good as the school’s. But Daidai still ate it very happily, eating the bitter melon with scrambled eggs and then the stir-fried green vegetables, followed by another compliment.
“Daidai, don’t eat anymore.” After trying it, Bei Queting also knew that her skills were still far from Aunt He’s. Daidai had come back to eat good food; how could she let her eat this?
“It’s delicious!” He Jingsu pouted, holding her bowl so she couldn’t take it away. “As long as it’s made by Beibei, it’s delicious!”
He Ying saw them and wanted to laugh. She took a bite and said, “It’s pretty good. To be able to do this on your first try is already very talented.”
She said this without any hidden meaning, but the person beside her felt it was intentional. She huffed at her, thinking she was being sarcastic!
Hearing her huff, He Ying was a little bewildered, and also amused by her strange point of dissatisfaction. She gave her a piece of her favorite bamboo shoot.
Jing Dan was instantly happy again.
For the rest of the meal, He Jingsu ate the most of the two dishes Bei Queting had made. Even though it was a very ordinary taste, she didn’t show any sign of suffering.
Bei Queting was both amused and a little choked up by her.
He Ying, across from them, saw this and smiled without saying anything.
After lunch, the two of them didn’t go back to school. They just took a nap at home. The dorm management wasn’t strict during the sports meet anyway.
At home, they were even more daring. He Jingsu transformed back into her true form and flew around in the air with her little wings, then crashed into Bei Queting’s arms, collapsing on her. “If only I could fly whenever I wanted at school.”
“Do you want to scare them to death?” Bei Queting said, amused, as she ruffled her head. “You don’t want Aunt He and the others to have to bail you out of the bureau, do you?”
Hearing the word “bureau,” He Jingsu instantly deflated. If her mothers had to bail her out, how embarrassing for a demon!
“Let’s sleep. Aren’t you tired?” Bei Queting coaxed. This one had been tired all morning.
“Mhm, mhm!” He Jingsu was held in Bei Queting’s arms, and the faint, fresh scent on her made her eyelids start to droop. Her breathing also gradually became much lighter.
Even Bei Queting was envious of this ability to fall asleep so quickly.
Holding the cub in her arms, Bei Queting lay on the bed but couldn’t fall asleep. She stared at the ceiling with her eyes open, her mind full of anxious thoughts about the future. They were still young now, and He Jingsu could still be with her like this. But what about when they grew up? If she had someone she liked, and that person wasn’t her, what would she do?
And, would she hurt her?
All the answers were unknown, and Bei Queting was already starting to feel a sense of panic about this unknown.

In the afternoon, back at school, He Jingsu once again began her dizzying journey of competitions. However, He Jingsu was quite popular at school. No matter which event she was at, there was always a large group of people cheering for her.
Looking at He Jingsu, who was surrounded by the crowd, Bei Queting felt both happy for her and a little sour. In truth, her world was never just about her, but she had given her a unique preference.
She understood that all of He Jingsu’s actions toward her were just a preference, not because she only had her.
“Beibei!” In the crowd, He Jingsu waved at Bei Queting.
Bei Queting looked at her bright smile and, as she approached, the students around her consciously made a path for her, allowing her to smoothly walk to He Jingsu’s side and take out a towel to wipe the sweat from her face.
“Beibei, did you see just now? I won!” He Jingsu said cheerfully. In the jump rope competition just now, she had beaten the second place by a full three hundred jumps!
“I saw. Our Daidai is amazing,” Bei Queting said with a smile. Her gaze had been on her the whole time; how could she not have seen?
She saw it! He Jingsu smiled even more happily. It wasn’t a waste to participate in so many events then.
The others who saw the two of them interact had already taken out their phones to secretly take pictures, then uploaded them to the topic dedicated to shipping their CP, adding another brick to the CP cause!
Not far from them, Li Ao leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, watching their interaction with a cold smile on his lips. He didn’t know about He Jingsu, but that Bei Queting was definitely not innocent!
Interesting.
“What, you still haven’t given up?” someone nudged his shoulder.
Li Ao looked over, his face a little gloomy. “Whether I’ve given up or not is another matter, but I think I might have found something fun.”
He wanted to see how long Bei Queting could endure, and how she would handle He Jingsu’s suitors.
“Huh?” The person was confused.
Li Ao didn’t explain and turned to leave.
On the other side, He Jingsu was taken to the next event. With her superior physical fitness, He Jingsu won one victory after another, and many of the awards were taken by class 16. The members of class 16 who ran with her became more and more proud.
After a long day of competitions, He Jingsu slumped over Bei Queting, unwilling to get up.
Bei Queting stroked her head, feeling a little amused. Was this one starting to act spoiled?
“Not going home for dinner?” she said deliberately.
He Jingsu’s body stiffened, then she clung to her even tighter, muttering, “You take me back.”
“Hm?” Bei Queting keenly sensed that her mood was a little low. What was wrong?
“Daidai? Did something happen?” Bei Queting asked softly, her right hand stroking her head from time to time.
He Jingsu shook her head, her hands around Bei Queting’s waist tightening. She recalled that while she was competing earlier, many seniors and juniors she didn’t know had come up to talk to Bei Queting more than once. And she had seen it! Several of them had the same look in their eyes as Zhang Shu!
Did they all want Beibei to be their girlfriend, just like Zhang Shu?
At the thought of this possibility, her brow furrowed tightly. One Zhang Shu was gone, but how could there be so many more!
Didn’t they study!
Seeing that she was unwilling to say, Bei Queting didn’t know what had happened. She just ruffled her head and quietly kept her company. After her mood had improved a little, she took her home for dinner.
When they got back, the food was already on the table. He Ying and the others were also surprised to see He Jingsu’s somewhat listless appearance and couldn’t help but look at Bei Queting with questioning eyes.
Bei Queting shook her head to show that she didn’t know either.
“Let’s eat first,” He Ying finally said.
He Jingsu, who was usually a glutton, only ate one bowl of rice today and said she was full.
Mmm, it seemed the problem was quite serious.
After dinner, He Ying had Bei Queting and Jing Dan clear the table. She called He Jingsu over and even made her a cup of milk. She sat across from her and raised an eyebrow. “Did anything interesting happen at school today?”
He Jingsu held the milk cup and shook her head sullenly.
Not interesting at all, not interesting at all!
Seeing her like this, He Ying was also a little surprised. This little cub usually couldn’t keep a secret at home. How could she hold it in today?
“Were you wronged?” He Ying continued to ask. The little cub’s appearance did seem a bit like she had been wronged.
Hearing the words “wronged,” He Jingsu’s lips trembled, and her eyes reddened slightly. She recalled all the people who had shown interest in Beibei that afternoon, and her heart ached!
Beibei was clearly hers. Why were they trying to snatch her away!
Seeing her mood sink even lower, a thoughtful look appeared in He Ying’s eyes. “Is it related to Little Ting?”
He Jingsu immediately nodded! The tip of her nose was even a little red, looking incredibly pitiful.
Although it was related to Bei Queting, it didn’t seem like she was angry with her. Then what was it?
He Ying ruffled her head and said gently, “Then do you want to tell Mom what happened? Maybe Mom can give you some advice.”
Hearing this, He Jingsu looked up at He Ying. In her mind, her mothers were the most amazing! She could completely trust them.
Her lips trembled, and she told He Ying about how others were trying to snatch Beibei from her.
After hearing this, a deep meaning appeared in He Ying’s eyes. Then, as if she had remembered something, she shook her head and sighed inwardly. This was clearly her and Jing Dan’s little cub, but she had to admit that Jing Dan’s genes were strong. Daidai had inherited so many things from her, and even her dazedness was a step above.
She recalled when she was pursuing Jing Dan, the scene of almost being driven to vomit blood by her dazedness. In the end, she decided to be merciful for once and dispel some of her dazedness.
“Why are you angry? They are different from you. Little Ting can’t stay by your side forever, can she? There will be others who will like her, love her, and be good to her. They are a different kind of relationship, different from yours.”
“I can be good to Beibei too! Very, very good!” He Jingsu said, unconvinced.
“But it’s not the same.” He Ying ruffled her head and said softly, “They are good to Little Ting because they want her to be their girlfriend. If it goes deeper, it’s like Mommy and me. They will get married and form a family.”
“Then what about you? What kind of good are you to Little Ting?”

Daidai! I’m asking you why! (screaming at the top of my lungs)
