Wang Yue used the floating spikes as cover to weave around Lilith, finally stabilizing the situation.
During their previous classroom spar, she had lost too quickly to experience Lilith in this feral state. Now she saw the truth: Lilith possessed the physical attributes and reflexes of a beast, coupled with exquisite swordplay. She wasn’t just trying to break shields; she was aiming for vitals, striking to kill. It completely overturned Wang Yue’s stereotypical image of a “little girl.”
With the help of the Suspended Stone Weather, Wang Yue gradually gained the upper hand.
It was true that Wang Yue lacked combat technique and her physical stats couldn’t compare, but her advantage lay in her endless mana. She simplified her strategy, firing her Floating Cannons in an endless loop!
Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat…
While Wang Yue’s desperate resistance brought Lilith a twisted sort of pleasure, the constant failure to land a finishing blow made Lilith’s desire burn even hotter, nearly consuming her.
“Wang Yue…”
Her voice was raspy and distorted. She crushed a Medium Shield Recharge, topping off her protection.
It was her last consumable. The winner would be decided in the next few exchanges.
Wang Yue’s supplies were also depleted, leaving her with only a few Small Shield Recharges. Her expression turned solemn; she realized the final showdown had arrived!
At that moment, the narrow vents of the Weather Forecast erupted with a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. The light branched out like crystalline vines, draping across the battlefield!

On the other side of the arena.
Aside from dealing some damage during the Gullet Weather, Medeili hadn’t landed any other effective hits on Modesty.
She didn’t like Modesty at all, especially since the girl wouldn’t stop yapping. Modesty kept flaunting those two Artificial Relic imitations like a crow in a fairy tale showing off a few stolen golden feathers.
Medeili remained restrained throughout the fight. This was because Wang Yue had instructed her beforehand: no matter what, she had to let the two of them finish their fight. It would be frustrating to have the match cut off halfway.
She stole a glance at the other battle and couldn’t help but smile to herself.
Student Wang Yue might act disgusted on the surface, but she was actually enjoying the fight with Lilith—even if the scene was a bit unsightly, with Wang Yue being chased around like prey.
“Damn it! Where are you looking?!” Modesty shrieked, her face flushed with rage. “You’re completely ignoring me!”
Medeili gave her a cold, indifferent look.
Modesty gritted her teeth and hissed, “I’ll teach you a lesson!”
After several uses, she had finally figured out how to coordinate her two Artificial Relics. First, she would use Glacier Breaker to force the enemy back, creating enough distance so that Star Annihilator wouldn’t catch her in its own blast. Then, she would unleash the devastating starlight for a precision strike.
Facing Medeili, who was at a mid-range distance, Modesty tried to lift her foot to trigger Glacier Breaker. To her horror, her left foot wouldn’t budge. She tried to reach out with her hand, but her arm swung in the opposite direction!
“What’s happening to me?!”
Before she could react, water sprayed from beneath Medeili’s feet. Like a surfer on a board, Medeili surged forward in a straight line!
In her panic, Modesty lost her balance and stumbled. Medeili was already in her face!
With her orange hair fluttering, Medeili ignited a High-Frequency Particle Blade. A flurry of slashes instantly deleted more than half of Modesty’s shields!
“You’re cheating! You’re using a Mystic Art!” Modesty screamed. She tried to reach for a shield recharge, but her hand moved away from her belt, obeying the exact opposite of her thoughts!
Medeili’s voice drifted into her ears.
“This is Inversion Weather. Left is right, and right is left. I can’t believe you haven’t adjusted yet… Your body is so clumsy and your reactions are so slow. You really aren’t suited for combat.”
Only then did Modesty notice the Phantom Light that had filled the air at some point, interfering with her central nervous system.
Although she was armed to the teeth, she was simply too unskilled. She couldn’t draw out the power of the Artificial Relics. She was like a “carried” player who had bought a full set of endgame gear but still sat at the very bottom of the DPS meters in a random party.
Modesty broke into a cold sweat, her face flushing with heat. Medeili’s particle blade was carving through her shields like a hot knife through butter. Meanwhile, Modesty was still struggling to walk in the inverted environment, unable to fight back. It was almost comedic.
Her athletic talent was non-existent. She was as clumsy as a toddler learning to walk; she took one step and fell flat on her face. When she tried to push herself up, her arms reached for the sky, and her head slammed back into the dirt with a dull thud.
When she was down to her final layer of shielding, Medeili stopped.
She remembered Wang Yue’s words: don’t cut their fight short.
Everything needed a conclusion. Wang Yue wanted to settle the score with Lilith properly.
