“Sis…”
She called out for ages, but no one paid her any mind. Lu Nan shouted loudly—
“Sis!”
Lu Nan suddenly appeared in the living room, dressed in her green Pajama Stars pajamas.
Li Erning had been watching a suspense drama, steeling herself as the killer was about to reveal themselves. She jumped in fright at Lu Nan’s sudden arrival, her soul nearly flying out of her body.
She punched Lu Nan and scolded, “You walk without making a sound—you scared me to death!”
“Sis, I called you so many times, and you ignored me. You didn’t even come to pick me up when I got back. I had to slink home all alone…”
“Enough! You’re the one who wouldn’t let me pick you up. Don’t pull that tea-sipping act like your fourth brother—what do you want, anyway?”
Lu Nan dropped the pitiful act and asked seriously, “Where’s that store you went to buy clothes last time?”
“You want to buy clothes?” Li Erning eyed her suspiciously. After all, Lu Nan was the type who’d once worn a fancy shirt on top with strawberry shorts on the bottom—her fashion sense left much to be desired.
That was why Li Erning mostly bought her sportswear. At least if Lu Nan threw random pieces together, athletic clothes wouldn’t look too off.
The idea of Lu Nan heading to a clothing store now had Li Erning picturing a multicolored burlap sack of an outfit emerging from the shop and marching into their home.
No! Too ugly!
Lu Nan: “Yeah.”
“Fine, fine, no more chit-chat. Hurry up—I’ll go with you.”
Li Erning quickly shut off the TV, grabbed the still-dazed Lu Nan, and bolted.
Lu Nan: ? What the heck? Why did she look so panicked and terrified??

The next day, Lu Nan wore the outfit Li Erning had already put together for her: a white tank top layered under a blue shirt, paired with wide-leg jeans.
Li Erning had sworn by it: Trust sis! Sis’s eye for style is spot-on—this combo looks great!
It felt comfortable enough, though Lu Nan didn’t get why anyone layered long sleeves in summer.
But Li Erning had said it could double as sun protection, and suddenly Lu Nan thought of the color difference between her and Song Wenwei’s hands. She stopped worrying about it.
When Song Wenwei arrived, she spotted Lu Nan waiting at the street corner. A gentle breeze lifted the hem of her blue shirt—it felt different from before.
Song Wenwei looked her up and down and finally realized: Her college fashion sense must’ve leveled up!
“You look so cool today!” Song Wenwei approached, patted her shoulder, and praised her without holding back.
It made Lu Nan’s face heat up.
“What, you hate my fashion sense too?” Lu Nan suddenly realized, followed by a wave of disappointment.
She only said I look cool today—did that mean I didn’t before?
This world had no love left… It was a cruel place.
“No! I’m complimenting you! Where’s the hate? Don’t pin that on me!” Song Wenwei protested.
Sure, her style before had been… well, indescribable, but understandable! At least there was room for improvement, and look—it had improved!
Lu Nan covered her face and wailed, “Erning-jie put this together for me. You just buttered up the wrong leg.”
Song Wenwei: “…”
You could’ve said that sooner!

Flower Town wasn’t far, and the two took two buses to arrive smoothly.
True to its name, the town overflowed with blooming flowers. Every household grew them, sparkling beautifully under the sunlight.
Its unique vibe, friendly hospitality, and cheap prices had made it go viral online. The local population was small—most people there were tourists.
They wandered into the town, which was divided into three villages. Two were developed for tourism, with people trimming flower branches, watering, and planting daily to keep it authentic.
Song Wenwei strolled along, stopping here and there, until she paused at a stall making flower crowns.
Rows of flower crowns sat on the table, with a sign: [Free Flower Crown Making]. It was a town specialty for visitors.
Song Wenwei halted, excitement bubbling as she asked, “Wanna make one?”
Her eyes locked on them, and Lu Nan could tell right away that Song Wenwei was hooked. Lu Nan nodded.
“Let’s do it!”
An old grandma manned the stall. Her hands moved deftly as she wove crowns, not even looking up when they stopped by.
She just said, “Pick any crown you like from the table. If you want to make your own, grab materials from the side and go for it.”
“Thanks, Grandma~”
Song Wenwei stood at the stall, dazzled by the options.
Thin wires, bundles of grass, flowers… Each type of grass and flower in its own box, laid out neatly.
A poster showed the steps, but Lu Nan didn’t get it.
She pulled out her phone and searched online: [Cut the wire to head-circumference size, wrap grass around it in loops, then insert flowers to finish.]
That simple? Lu Nan pondered, feeling like she got it.
She eyed Song Wenwei’s head, estimating the size, though she worried measurements might be off.
Song Wenwei was focused on weaving hers—she’d learned from her elementary school teacher on a field trip and relied on those old memories.
In her concentration, a hand suddenly covered her head, feeling around.
She looked at the gesturing Lu Nan and asked puzzledly, “What are you doing?”
“Making you a flower crown.” Lu Nan said it like it was obvious, leaving Song Wenwei a bit stunned.
Then Lu Nan snipped the wire short, wrapped grass around it loop after loop into a circle, and dotted it with pink and pale yellow flowers. They complemented each other beautifully.
It actually looked decent. Lu Nan nodded, satisfied, snapped a photo of her proud creation with her phone.
Her lips curved up in a smile as she placed the crown on Song Wenwei’s head.
“Does it look good?” Song Wenwei asked. She couldn’t see it herself.
A full-length mirror stood nearby, probably for tourists.
Song Wenwei checked the mirror, looking left and right. From her angle, she could see the woven flowers crowning her head perfectly.
It suited her, brightening her radiant charm.
“Really pretty.”
Lu Nan gazed at her and let her true feelings slip out.
