Facing Jian Yun’s frosty glare, Bai Sha took a deep breath and answered, “Someone gave it to me not long ago.”
“Who?” Jian Yun demanded immediately.
This was an internal technique belonging to the Bloodthirsty Swordfish Clan. As a Demon Core-level technique, its value was immense. Jian Yun couldn’t allow it to leak.
Bai Sha’s gaze flickered. “If you want to know that, you’ll have to answer some of my questions, too.”
Jian Yun’s expression darkened instantly. The aura of a Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivator surged from him, crashing into Bai Sha like a mountain pressing down. Her body collapsed weakly to the ground.
“You dare bargain with me?” Jian Yun’s tone was utterly hostile.
Yet Bai Sha remained fearless. Even under the immense pressure, her heart was calm. “The one who gave me this technique might soon give it to more Demon Beasts, helping many of them become Demon Cultivators. What do you think of that possibility?”
Jian Yun’s aura sharpened instantly.
He knew Bai Sha was threatening him, but he couldn’t ignore the possibility. If the Raging Waves Art became widespread in the Eastern Sea, it would be a major problem. Even if other Demon Cultivators didn’t practice it themselves, just studying it would give them deeper insight. If they later encountered Bloodthirsty Swordfish who did use it, they would be able to counter them with ease.
Besides, how many Demon Cultivators in the Eastern Sea could afford to ignore a Demon Core-level technique?
“What do you want to ask?” Jian Yun was forced to retreat a step.

“What is the sensing range?” Bai Sha pressed on.
This was a critical matter for her. Before practicing the Raging Waves Art, she never imagined it would come with such troublesome complications.
Jian Yun answered again.
The actual range wasn’t overwhelmingly vast. His group of Bloodthirsty Swordfish had just happened to pass relatively nearby, allowing them to detect the situation. Naturally, the range was tied to one’s cultivation. The higher one’s cultivation, the broader the range they could sense.
After learning this, Bai Sha felt a wave of relief. It seemed she didn’t have to change techniques immediately. As long as she was careful to avoid Late-stage Qi Condensation or higher Bloodthirsty Swordfish, she could remain undetected.
“I’ve answered three of your questions. Enough.” Jian Yun stared coldly at Bai Sha. “Tell me now! Who gave you the technique?”
Every other Demon Beast in the Cage, as well as the Bloodthirsty Swordfish outside, fixed their eyes on Bai Sha.
Bai Sha had no intention of asking more. She smiled softly. “I keep my word. Since you answered my questions, I will naturally tell you who gave me the technique.”
“Who?” Jian Yun demanded again. This was extremely important to the Bloodthirsty Swordfish.
“It was…” Bai Sha paused briefly before giving her answer. “It was a Cultivator from the Wind-Thunder Observatory who gave it to me.”
Jian Yun: “…”
He fell silent for a moment.
Then his voice drifted over, as cold and penetrating as a winter wind. “I know you are lying. Do you actually think I’d believe such a tale?”
Bai Sha’s voice sounded as innocent as could be. “It really was a Cultivator from the Wind-Thunder Observatory. When I was first captured, I had only just awakened my spiritual intelligence. I wasn’t yet a Demon Cultivator. The Wind-Thunder Observatory Cultivator thought that a beast not yet a Demon Cultivator was poor quality as materials. “Who would believe that?” Jian Yun glared at Bai Sha.
“It really is true. If you don’t believe me, ask the others.” Bai Sha’s voice was sincere. She turned and winked at the other Demon Beasts in the Cage.
“That’s right. I can bear witness,” the Profound Water Turtle said, immediately understanding Bai Sha’s intent.
“I personally saw the Wind-Thunder Observatory Cultivator give the Great White Shark the technique,” the Tiger-Striped Seal added. He understood too, despite a seemingly rash nature.
“I can also testify!” the Purple Horn Electric Eel chimed in.
They all quickly grasped Bai Sha’s meaning. She wanted to reignite the conflict between the Bloodthirsty Swordfish and the Wind-Thunder Observatory Cultivators. Only then would they, the caged Demon Beasts, have a chance to escape.
But while they understood this, how could Jian Yun not?
“Do you think this will work? Do you think I’m so easily deceived?” Jian Yun’s voice was bone-chillingly cold.
“Sometimes, the thing you think is impossible is exactly the truth,” Bai Sha said, shaking her head. “I’ve told you the facts. If you refuse to believe me, there’s nothing more I can do.”
She already knew the Raging Waves Art’s importance to the Bloodthirsty Swordfish Clan. For such a crucial technique, Jian Yun’s next course of action was obvious.
Some things, one would rather believe they are true than dismiss them as false.
“I heard everything you said.”
The leading Foundation Establishment Cultivator of the Wind-Thunder Observatory, Ding Lei, approached at that moment. He glanced at Bai Sha, his face stern. “While I don’t understand this technique you speak of, everything this Great White Shark said is pure fabrication. Her goal… surely you can see it clearly, Sir.”
Ding Lei looked at Jian Yun.
Jian Yun bared his teeth in a grin. “Of course I understand. But… what if? So, you Human Cultivators can just die for me!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Jian Yun launched an attack, charging forward and ambushing Ding Lei with a sudden strike.
Jian Yun’s previous words had made Ding Lei believe Jian Yun wouldn’t be fooled, so his guard was lowered. He never expected this ambush. Caught completely off guard, Ding Lei was rammed in the body by Jian Yun’s sword-like snout.
“Boom!”
A talisman paper stuck inside Ding Lei’s Daoist Robe activated automatically, erupting into a burst of Gale Wind that pushed Jian Yun back. Even so, Ding Lei coughed up a mouthful of blood and was sent tumbling backward through the seawater.
The Wind-Thunder Observatory Cultivators present were horrified by this scene.

Jian Yun steadied himself and roared the command.
