A woman transmigrates into a harem novel, becoming one of the male lead’s girlfriends.

Why is the male lead’s girlfriends’ favorability score for me higher than for the male lead himself?

Don’t you all come near me!

From a sadistic and handsome senior, a protective-type yandere, a “gimme” character with housewife attributes, a tsundere young miss, a “gap moe” teacher, an unruly loli, a masochistic and aloof senior, a mature celebrity, an ice-queen doctor, a younger cousin with a sister complex, a “green tea” child star, to a femme fatale—Liang Sheng constantly finds herself trapped in a “shuraba” as the girls fight over her out of jealousy.

This is the story of a “pseudo-straight” girl being pursued by twelve other girls.

T/N: Shuraba literally translates to an “Asura’s battlefield”—a scene of intense, bloody, and chaotic conflict. It is most famously used to describe a scenario where multiple romantic interests confront each other over a single protagonist.

Author’s Note:

The first few chapters are especially amateurish and stiff, but it later transitions into a wacky, comedic romance.

A true tour-de-force of the genre. Overall, the bulk of it is very charming rom-com moments with an excellent & funny protagonist. But it’s not just those elements- there’s some really gutwrenching moments, some brutal and depressing depictions of homophobia, there’s very tense action scenes, there’s actually super sweet and moving romances, genuine connections between people, some mystery unraveling, lots of scheming and green-tea moments. This novel really does have everything!

I’d highly, highly recommend it.

Also, it is in fact a wlw harem, which is a strength in this novel’s case. There are 12 whole love interests for the protagonist, and they’re all really different – they all have different reasons for liking her, and she has different reasons for liking them. It does make all the moments seem much more authentic, not a pokemon collection plot or anything like that. And, *minor spoilers* there is a unique ending for every character, as well as a poly ending, so if you really like one the best (Gu Yuqi <3) you can look forward to an ending focused on her, and if you don’t appreciate one or two of the characters that’s fine, you can just skip their ending.

A few readers might get annoyed at the scope of the System-mechanics changing, sort-of, upon the ending of the mystery, but honestly, it’s pretty consistent with the start and overexplaining System mechanics is the downfall of a lot of other novels. We’re here to see the romance, the drama, the storytelling, and this novel keeps the Meta-aspects to a satisfying minimum.

Was really surprised at how much I liked it – it’s a very long novel but the pace is very quick so it’s a refreshing lead. It’s also, again, really funny, you’ll probably get a good laugh out of every couple chapters so definitely a worthwhile use of your time! <3 <3
