Liang Sheng found herself in deep trouble yet again.
She had simply gone out walking to buy some mooncakes, only to run into the yandere.
What kind of melodramatic joke was Heaven playing on her?
“Sheng-chan~ What a coincidence~” Hana smiled sweetly at Liang Sheng, flashing her two little tiger teeth in an utterly adorable display.
Coincidence, my foot. It was obviously that tracker acting up again.
“You… how did you slip out of the mental hospital again?” Liang Sheng asked with a throbbing headache. (Note: At that point in the timeline, the yandere was still confined there.)
Hana put on a pitiful expression. “Aww~ I missed you, Sheng-chan.”
Liang Sheng felt helpless, her soft heart flaring up once more. She took Hana’s hand and said, “Come on, I’ll take you to buy mooncakes. After that, we’re heading straight back to the mental hospital, okay?”
Hana nodded happily and gripped her hand tighter.
Mooncakes of every filling lined the stalls, and people’s faces all around glowed with smiles as they exchanged holiday greetings.
Though Liang Sheng hated crowds and noise, she loved the festive buzz in the air.
“Hey, boss! Give me ten red bean mooncakes!” Liang Sheng called out, sweating bullets. Her mouth said ten, but her fingers were holding up two.
“Sheng-chan, Sheng-chan! I want lotus paste mooncakes,” Hana chirped, tugging at Liang Sheng’s hand and pointing eagerly at the lotus paste ones, her eyes full of expectation.
Of course, Liang Sheng had to indulge her little wish. She immediately pulled out some cash and bought her five lotus paste mooncakes.
“Mmm~” Hana took a bite of the mooncake while holding Liang Sheng’s hand. “Everything you give me is just the best, Sheng-chan. It’s so delicious.”
Sigh. Such a sweet talker, but she was still a yandere.
By nine in the morning, the crowds were thickening.
Liang Sheng pulled Hana down onto a row of plastic chairs. Seeing her choke a bit while eating, she thoughtfully bought a bottle of soda and handed it over.
Hana leaned into Liang Sheng’s embrace, munching away with relish.
“I wish I could get out of that mental hospital soon, so we could spend every day like this~” Hana said wistfully.
Liang Sheng ruffled Hana’s hair. “Behave yourself, and I’ll make sure every day is like this.”
Hana beamed. “Okay! I’ll do anything you say, Sheng-chan… as long as you never leave me.”
Those words carried a veiled threat. Liang Sheng shivered, realizing she could never shake off this yandere. She couldn’t help worrying about her future.
“All done eating, Hana?”
Hana shook her head. “Nooo, Sheng-chan. Play with me a little longer, or… the mental hospital’s so cold and creepy. It’s full of nutjobs—scary weirdos.”
As if they could be scarier than you? Liang Sheng wanted to retort weakly, but she swallowed the words, not eager to court death.
“Fine, come on. I’ll take you to have some fun,” Liang Sheng said, taking Hana’s hand to lead her around. She just wanted to send this troublesome Buddha on her way. Who could blame her for being such a coward? A total pushover? For running her mouth and getting tangled up with a yandere?
Liang Sheng brought Hana to the arcade. It was Hana’s first time there, and she looked around curiously, eyes wide.
“Sheng-chan, I want to play that one. Will you play with me?” Hana pointed at the DDR machine, stars sparkling in her eyes.
“Sure, sure,” Liang Sheng replied. For a moment, she felt like she was chaperoning a child, her tone unconsciously slipping into that of a doting mom.
Don’t let Hana’s formidable fighting prowess fool you—she was terrible at games. She lost five rounds straight against Liang Sheng.
“You’re so amazing, Sheng-chan~!” Hana gazed at her in pure adoration, little stars practically bursting from her eyes.
Liang Sheng was the type to get carried away by praise. She placed her hands on her hips and boasted shamelessly, “Of course! I’m super good at games!”
Hana smiled sweetly at her. As long as Sheng-chan was happy, nothing else mattered.
“Want to play something else? I’ll keep you company,” Liang Sheng asked considerately.
Hana was still smiling as she pointed at the claw machine.
This was already the twentieth coin. Liang Sheng wiped the sweat from her brow and yelled, “Damn it! I’m gonna smash you!”
“Sheng-chan, don’t get mad,” Hana said, glaring at the machine. “Stay put. I’ll smash it right now.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Liang Sheng saw Hana was serious and immediately backed down. She blocked her and said, “It’s fine, really. I was just joking.”
Yanderes really spoiled Liang Sheng rotten—even believing something that childish.
“Let me try again… one more time…”
After Liang Sheng’s tireless efforts—and the clink of the eighty-ninth coin dropping in—the damn claw machine finally had enough shame not to let the prize slip out. It successfully grabbed a soft pink bunny plush.
“Here, for you,” Liang Sheng said, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly as she handed the pink bunny to Hana.
Hana’s cheeks flushed pink. She took the bunny in delight. “Sheng-chan, does this count as our love token?”
Liang Sheng: “…What?”
What was going on? She’d just given her a stuffed bunny, and now Hana wanted to repay her with her body? That wasn’t right.
“Sheng-chan~ One last request~” Hana looked down at her. (That’s right—Liang Sheng was three centimeters shorter than Hana.)
“What?” An ominous premonition crept over Liang Sheng.
Hana crouched down, gazing up at her with narrowed eyes and rosy lips. She said word by word, “Please… give me a goodbye kiss, Sheng-chan.”
Liang Sheng hesitated. Refuse, and who knew what Hana might do. Agree, and… wasn’t this basically selling herself?
“Sheng-chan…” Seeing her waver, Hana’s beautiful eyes welled up with tears, as if they might spill over any second.
“Sheng-chan, I love you so much! Putting a tracker on you—that’s how I show my love!” Hana confessed earnestly.
Liang Sheng: “…” Thanks, but no thanks.
Looking at the sniffling Hana, Liang Sheng’s heart softened—and fear won out. With a sigh, she leaned down, bent at the waist, and planted a quick, feather-light kiss on Hana’s forehead.
” Happy now, Miss Hana?” Liang Sheng asked gently, gazing at her.
Sometimes Liang Sheng was unintentionally so seductive. Hana jumped up happily, threw her arms around Liang Sheng’s shoulders, and cried out in joy, “I love you most of all, Sheng-chan! I want to be with you forever!”
In the past, Liang Sheng would have been terrified. But now, the sincerity in that confession warmed her heart. She patted Hana’s back and softly murmured her assent.
“Be good at the mental hospital. Keep an eye out for couples who come strolling there, and don’t forget to carry what I gave you,” Liang Sheng instructed like an old nanny before they parted.
Hana hugged her tightly one more time. “Got it, Sheng-chan~ I’ll love you forever and ever!”
