Zhen Zhu stood in the center of the lobby, dressed in her princess skirt and clutching her bear plush. “What are you all doing gathered here?!”
“Liang Sheng, you’re here?” It was obvious that lolis had a touch of tsundere pride to them—though nothing compared to Young Miss Lu Ziqing. “Come on in already! What are you doing standing there like an idiot?”
And so, amid the crowd’s laughter, Liang Sheng dazedly followed Zhen Zhu upstairs with the others.
“Zhen Zhu, why do the nannies at your house all seem so weird? They’re all smiling like maniacs,” Liang Sheng remarked, unable to resist glancing back down at the lobby.
Zhen Zhu grumbled inwardly but kept a straight face on her tongue. “They’re just a bunch of jokers. Don’t mind them.”
Hmph, what a small but shrewd little thing.
“So, so… what fun game does our adorable Little Zhen Zhu want her beautiful Sister Liang Sheng to play with her? Hide and seek?” Liang Sheng put on her gentlest smile.
But the bear child Zhen Zhu wasn’t having it. She pulled a face of pure disdain. “Old Hag Liang Sheng, talk properly! Don’t go all cutesy and cringey on me!”
“Tch.” If her rare kindness went unappreciated, Liang Sheng wouldn’t bother. She dropped her smile.
“Fine, what do you want to play then?”
Zhen Zhu whipped out her phone. “Play on the phone, obviously. Phones are way more fun.”
“Oh ho, so you’re a gaming addict, huh?”
Zhen Zhu pouted. “I’m not! It’s just that there’s nothing else fun at home.”
“No board games or anything?” Liang Sheng glanced around the room and couldn’t help sighing in admiration. “My god, Zhen Zhu, your room is so pink and cute!”
“Whoa~ And a whole pile of bear plushies!” Liang Sheng scampered to the corner of the room, where a mountain of plush bears in all sizes awaited. She couldn’t resist scooping up a big one and nuzzling it. “So adorable, kawaii~”
Zhen Zhu smirked smugly to herself. Old hag, you look like such a country bumpkin!
“You can’t go a day without insulting me without your mouth itching, can you?” Liang Sheng shot a glare back at the sharp-tongued little loli, adding a threat. “Watch it, or I won’t play with you!”
“You—!” But Zhen Zhu had leverage too. “Then I won’t pay you!”
The mention of money snapped Liang Sheng back to reality. Right—she wasn’t just here for favorability points; she could actually earn cash! Her face lit up with a fawning grin as she scurried to Zhen Zhu’s side. “Hey, Sister was just joking around!”
“Old hag, such a money-grubber!” Small as she was, Zhen Zhu had eyes that saw right through everything.
“Hey, that’s not fair. Sister just wants to hang out and play with you—and I have fun too~” Oh, look at this hypocrite’s fake smile!
“Space Werewolf Kill? I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard it’s fun.” Zhen Zhu tapped to download it.
Liang Sheng rubbed her hands together gleefully. She’d played this before! Time to crush this bratty kid.
“Old hag, have you played it?”
Liang Sheng put on her best clueless act. “Nah, me neither, but I’ve seen friends play. I didn’t really get it, though.”
“Should we look up a guide first?”
Liang Sheng waved her off frantically. “No need, no need! Games like this, you pick it up after one round. Plus, it’s not like it has points to gain or lose, right?”
She paused, then added, “Besides, guides are such a hassle. Better to figure it out yourself.”
“Yeah, you’re right…” As expected of a kid—still green enough to get duped by an “old auntie” like Liang Sheng.
Once the download finished, Zhen Zhu bounced excitedly on her toes. “Come on, let’s play, Liang Sheng!”
Liang Sheng pulled out her phone. There on her screen sat Space Werewolf Kill, which she’d had downloaded for over two months. Heh heh, kiddo, you’re mine now! Time for a lesson in how harsh the world can be!
But why wasn’t that favorability rising? Liang Sheng squinted and checked repeatedly, but the number floating by Zhen Zhu showed zero change.
Weird. Do I have no charm today or what? She switched off her phone screen and checked her reflection, murmuring to herself, “Still looks pretty good, though?”
“Old hag, what are you muttering about? Hurry up and play with me!” Zhen Zhu was getting impatient.
“Coming, coming!”
Liang Sheng licked her lips, shoving favorability out of her mind. Right now, her head was filled with visions of demolishing this cheeky bear child.
Unfortunately, her first draw was “Crew Member”—boring. She dashed around doing tasks while Zhen Zhu, the noob, stuck to her like a sticky plaster, following everywhere.
“Go do your own tasks! Why are you tailing me?” Liang Sheng finally snapped.
“How do you even do tasks?” The rookie Zhen Zhu shoved her phone in Liang Sheng’s face.
Liang Sheng sucked air through her teeth and tapped the screen. “Right here, see? It’s telling you. Go do them, or the killers win.”
“Oh, oh…” In her flustered state, Zhen Zhu surprisingly listened.
The first round ended quickly, with the crew claiming victory.
Before the second round, Liang Sheng clasped her hands and prayed for a “Killer” role.
Maybe her sincerity touched the heavens, but the usually chronically unlucky Liang Sheng actually drew “Killer.”
Perfect! She clenched her fist in secret glee.
Game on.
Now that Zhen Zhu knew the tasks, she didn’t follow anymore and set off on her own at the start. Liang Sheng regretted teaching her so soon.
So she tailed from afar instead.
Her persistence paid off. She spotted Zhen Zhu alone in the Electrical Room, no one else around. Liang Sheng slipped in, shut the door, sabotaged the circuits, and plunged the whole ship into darkness.
In the dark, she blasted clueless Zhen Zhu with one shot.
“Hey—hey?!” In real life, Zhen Zhu yelped in impotent rage. “Old hag! You damn old hag! You killed me!”
Liang Sheng laughed her head off. “Hahaha!! You’re such a dummy, Little Brat~ I had my sound cranked up max with effects—you didn’t even notice I was the killer, ha!”
“How was I supposed to know? It was my first time!” Zhen Zhu whined, aggrieved. “You’re so old—why couldn’t you let me win? Disrespecting your elders!”
“Hey, hey,” Though her soul was over thirty, Liang Sheng bristled. “How am I disrespecting? I’m only three years older! Don’t think being short lets you run wild!”
That hit a nerve. Zhen Zhu flew into a rage and lunged at Liang Sheng.
