“Wahhh~~” Liang Sheng fake-cried. “I wanna get taller, prettier, and turn into a mature big sis too!”
“Then keep dreaming about it,” Akino Kazuko added. “Or just go to sleep—anything’s possible in dreams.”
“Fuck your…” Liang Sheng grumbled under her breath.
Lu Ziqing couldn’t explain why, but she’d suddenly lost all interest in Su Ze. He just didn’t seem all that great anymore.
Ni Sihan, on the other hand, couldn’t tear her eyes away from him. How had she missed such a handsome guy in her class during that first week?
“Stop staring,” Akino Hoshiko scolded her host. “He’s one of your rivals. Don’t go full fangirl on your opponent.”
“Huh?” Ni Sihan finally snapped out of it. In her mind, she schemed: I’ll beat him first, then add this handsome brother to my collection~
“Su Ze! You got this~!” Ni Sihan suddenly shouted.
Su Ze lit up with joy, assuming it was one of his old harem girls cheering him on. But when he turned, he saw a unfamiliar little sister. Tsk, no thanks—she was plain as dirt. He gave Ni Sihan a polite wave and turned back to the race.
Ni Sihan dove right back into fangirl mode, cupping her cheeks with both hands. “Wow~ even that wave looks so cool on him~!”
Akino Hoshiko burst out laughing at that. “Don’t let the pretty face fool you. Who knows what his real looks are like? And for all his fair skin, that kid’s heart is black as pitch!”
Ni Sihan shot her system a puzzled glance.
Akino Hoshiko just smiled. “Focus on the people you’re supposed to be targeting. Not on random handsome guys. Or else…”
She didn’t even finish the threat before Ni Sihan ducked her head. “Sorry, Sister Hoshiko! I’ll do my best and wrap up conquering those girls ASAP.”
Akino Hoshiko nodded, pleased with the attitude.
Su Ze really did have killer athletic genes. He took first in the long-distance run and won the hearts of plenty of girls in the crowd. Too bad his harem group barely budged—only Ye Yuzhe’s favorability toward him rose by ten points, with a measly three-point bump in heartthrob value.
This wasn’t working out at all. That trap was way too easily swayed by Su Ze! Liang Sheng gnawed on her fingertip. And He Wennuo wasn’t any better! After all this time, he still hadn’t won Ye Yuzhe over. Was the guy impotent or something?
“You’re getting more twisted by the day!” Akino Kazuko laughed and scolded her. “Your head’s stuffed full of nothing but filthy junk!”
“If humans aren’t lewd, what are they?” Liang Sheng shot back shamelessly. “Lust is baked into human nature! I’m just doing what everyone does!”
“Oh, right—let’s call He Wennuo over,” Liang Sheng said, pulling out her phone. “Otherwise, this Ye Yuzhe is too useless. Hell, He Wennuo’s even worse! Is he some kinda Canadian electric eel or what?”
Akino Kazuko cracked up. “Such a smart mouth you’ve got. If you’re calling, then call already.”
Liang Sheng dialed He Wennuo. “Hey? Your little wifey’s got an event at the sports meet today. Wanna come check it out?”
To her surprise, He Wennuo sounded utterly defeated. “Nah… I think Yuzhe just doesn’t like me.”
Of course he doesn’t! Liang Sheng thought. The guy’s favorability for the male lead is sky-high. God only knew what that trap saw in Su Ze. Even after that attempted assault got exposed, he was still head-over-heels.
“Sigh… maybe we should just call it quits,” He Wennuo said, sprawled on the sofa in his office like a salted fish. “Let Yuzhe chase after who he wants. Wuwu, I’m the poster boy for lick dogs—they never get a happy ending.”
“Who says that?” Liang Sheng shot back. “Not every simp ends up with nothing! That’s just the broke ones. You? You’ve got money! And all those sugar babies!”
Her pep talk gave He Wennuo a spark of fire.
“Plus,” she went on, trailing off meaningfully, “the guy you can’t have, moaning under someone else night after night… you cool with that?”
That did it. He Wennuo bolted upright. “Hold on—I’m coming right now.”
“You sure you’re definitely coming?” Liang Sheng pressed.
“Coming, coming!” he bellowed.
He hung up and stepped in front of the mirror, eyeing his reflection.
“Heh~” He ran a hand through his short hair and winked his left eye at the mirror, grinning smugly. “Who’s this total stud? How’s he so damn handsome!”
The mirror seemed to sweat. Another day covered in grease…
Still admiring himself, He Wennuo raised an arm and wall-slammed his own reflection. “How can there be someone as handsome as you in this world~? Ahh~ Jesus~ God!”
Clunk! A cup hit the floor, coffee splashing everywhere.
Huh? He Wennuo whipped around to find several junior assistants and his secretary gaping at him from the doorway.
“Y-You guys… how’d you get in here?” He Wennuo, the big tough guy, flushed beet red for no damn reason.
The secretary stammered, “B-Boss, you… I knocked, and you yelled for me to come in.”
He Wennuo exploded. “When the hell did I say that?!”
The secretary cowered behind her files. “Right after I knocked—you shouted ‘come on in!’ loud and clear!”
“When did I—” Wait, yeah, he had. On the phone with Liang Sheng.
“Y-You…” He Wennuo choked on his words. Realizing his mortifying mirror performance had been witnessed by his subordinates, a wave of social death crashed over him. “J-Just… get out.”
Three days—I’ll fire you all!
He straightened his clothes and stormed out of the company.
What he didn’t know was that in the company group chat—everyone except him—the clip of his mirror monologue was spreading like wildfire. Once he was gone, the entire office erupted in laughter that could’ve shaken the building down.
He picked the priciest car in his garage. Hmph, you philandering broke-ass punk—think you can steal my girl? Boy? Whatever! In your dreams!
When he reached Noble Academy, security stopped his car at the gate. “Sir, no vehicles inside.”
Dressed in his sharp suit, He Wennuo trudged alone across the massive campus.
And then…
He got lost.
Why the hell is a school built like a damn neighborhood?! Do students show up half an hour early just to walk another half-hour to class?!
The big-shot CEO couldn’t bring himself to call Liang Sheng and admit he was lost. Too embarrassing to ask her to come pick him up.
“Hey? Liang Sheng, I’m lost.”
She went silent for a few seconds before firing back a single line.
