Volume 1: Favorability System
After Liang Sheng finished reading the novel Su Ze’s Girlfriends, her face had twisted into an unrecognizable mess. The male lead, Su Ze! He actually had twelve girlfriends!
She was particularly struck by the final scene in the grand finale: Su Ze stood on the bridge’s edge, beads of dew clinging to his forehead. He pulled out his phone, his lips curling into a bitter smile, his voice trembling as he recorded this message. “I’m sorry. You’re all good girls, but I’m not a good man. I’ve fallen for all of you. So I can’t be with just one of you. I’m sorry. Goodbye.”
Liang Sheng couldn’t help but chuckle wryly at that. What kind of scumbag lines were these? But the real absurdity came next.
“After Su Ze finished speaking, he leaped off the bridge. Lu Ziqing’s voice pierced the sky: ‘No!’ She reached out and grabbed his wrist, pulling with all her might. Then Mo Qingrou, Liang Sheng, and the others all rushed over. Together, they hauled Su Ze back up.”
When Liang Sheng saw “Liang Sheng” mentioned, she rolled her eyes before continuing.
“Song An’an burst into tears. She gently placed her hand on Su Ze’s face and said, ‘A-Ze, as long as you’re okay, it doesn’t matter who you end up with. I’ll always love you!’ Lu Ziqing clutched Su Ze’s hand and smiled. ‘Me, you, and all of them—let’s stay together forever. That’s all I ask.’ Su Ze nodded, and the girls nodded too. Su Ze smiled and pulled all the girls into a group embrace. The End.”
A wave of speechlessness washed over her at this harem ending. She couldn’t help but marvel at how the male lead managed to hug twelve girls at once. Talk about badass.
At first, Liang Sheng had picked up this harem novel because one of the female leads shared her name, Liang Sheng. She stuck with it to the end only after discovering one of the male lead’s “girlfriends” was a trap.
But the ending… it was just so lame. Liang Sheng had never been a fan of harem stories, and now she felt even weirder about them.
With a sigh, she flopped onto the bed, resigned to sleeping it off and blotting out that headache of a conclusion.
When she awoke, she cracked her eyes open, sleep still clouding her gaze.
A gentle breeze lifted the white lace curtains, and the tulips on the balcony gave off a faint fragrance… Wait. Lace curtains? What the—?
Liang Sheng jolted fully awake. Her home didn’t have lace curtains. She glanced down and saw death-Barbie-pink sheets printed with a massive Hello Kitty. What in the world?
“Liang Sheng, get up already! Time for school!” A woman’s voice came from outside the door, followed by knocking.
She jumped out of bed and flung open the door. Standing there was a pretty middle-aged woman. She smiled and ruffled Liang Sheng’s hair. “Did you sleep your brains out? Come downstairs for breakfast.” With that, she turned and headed down.
Liang Sheng blinked in stunned silence. This setup… could it be the legendary transmigration?
She glanced around the room and spotted a notebook on the desk. Walking over, she flipped it open to the first page, where two elegant characters read “Liang Sheng.”
Ah! Ah! Ah! Those two words unleashed a triple roar of fury from Liang Sheng.
Why had she transmigrated into this novel? Was she doomed to share a boyfriend with eleven other women? What a tragic transmigration farce!
Liang Sheng… no, she supposed she was Liang Sheng now. She clutched her light green hair in agony. Fine, now she finally understood why Liang Sheng’s hair was green in the story.
This transmigration came with zero perks… Well, not entirely zero. She glanced at her heavy chest. At least the fat up top weighed a few pounds more than before.
“Hurry up and come down! What are you dawdling for?” The urging voice called from downstairs again. Liang Sheng sighed and trudged down, accepting her fate.
When in Rome. Besides, in the novel, Liang Sheng’s family was loaded—her dad was in real estate and spoiled her rotten. That thought eased her mind a bit.
After breakfast, Liang Sheng stood before the mirror, changing into her school uniform. The school’s name was ridiculously tacky, courtesy of the author: “Saint Mary Noble Academy.”
She curled her lip in disdain and studied her reflection. A delicate doll-like face with dimples when she smiled—adorably cute. Height around 5’5″, perfectly average for a girl. Everything seemed flawless except the hair color.
Unable to resist, Liang Sheng gave her bust a squeeze. Oh… so this was what it felt like. Amazing.
She shamelessly kept groping for a good long while.
Liang Sheng might have gone on indulging, but the original Liang Sheng’s mother dragged her out.
A girl waited outside, her pear-blossom pink short hair and pleated uniform skirt fluttering in the breeze. Her cheeks were rosy, her lips slightly pursed—brimming with youthful vitality.
Liang Sheng narrowed her eyes. Nice. No bust to rival hers.
She smiled at the girl and was about to ask her name when a panel of text popped up before her eyes, displaying the girl’s full stats.
“Name: Song An’an
Age: 16
Height: 156 cm
Weight: 44 kg
Looks: S
Favorability toward Su Ze: 84
Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 32″
Huh? What was this? The male lead’s Girlfriend Number Two! A total loli too. But what about these stats? Whoa, it had to be the transmigration golden finger. Haha, this was going to be awesome!
Liang Sheng grinned inwardly. She took Song An’an’s hand and smiled warmly. “Let’s go, An’an!”
“Ding~” Favorability increased.
“Song An’an’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 38”
The chime startled Liang Sheng. She glanced back and saw Song An’an blushing furiously at their joined hands. Her own Favorability had jumped to 38.
Wow, just a simple hand-hold and the kid’s Favorability shot up that much.
Song An’an whispered shyly, “Liang Sheng… you… what did you just call me?”
Amused by the girl’s flushed face, Liang Sheng ruffled her hair and grinned. “An’an~”
“Ding!” Favorability rose sharply.
“Song An’an’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 49”
Whoa! Up to 49 now. No way, it was this easy? Liang Sheng didn’t fully grasp what Favorability meant, but she felt inexplicably proud.
Song An’an, face beet red, tugged Liang Sheng’s hand and hurried forward.
Suddenly, Song An’an let go—her shoelace had come undone. Liang Sheng knelt first, retied it neatly.
“Ding~” Favorability increased.
“Song An’an’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 52”
Oh yeah! Favorability climbing fast—to 52, no less.
Liang Sheng looked up into another blushing face… and a bust blocking too much of her view.
So cute! Liang Sheng thought.
Recalling the novel, this scene was from Chapter 21. It was the first day of school: childhood sweetheart Song An’an made a loving breakfast for the male lead, only for Young Miss Lu Ziqing to knock it over. Then the original Liang Sheng got helped up by the male lead, fell head over heels but denied her crush, and didn’t reappear until Chapter 60-something.
With a sigh, Liang Sheng grumbled inwardly. She silently swore a venomous oath: Even if a bunch of girls fell for her, she wouldn’t fall for Su Ze!
At school, the opening ceremony was underway. Last year’s student representative was droning on.
Liang Sheng looked up from below. First to catch her eye: a pair of slender legs wrapped in sheer black stockings, contrasting sharply with pale skin. It made her blood race—total temptation! They belonged to a bespectacled senior with long straight black hair.
Squinting, Liang Sheng’s vision filled with the senior’s stats.
“Name: An Hua
Age: 17
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 51 kg
Looks: S
Favorability toward Su Ze: 0
Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 0″
Male lead’s Girlfriend Number Three. But why zero Favorability for him? Oh right—An Hua hadn’t met Su Ze yet!
Where was Su Ze, anyway? Liang Sheng scanned the crowd frantically but couldn’t spot him. Not because of the throng, but because her eyes kept drifting to the black-haired senior. Fine, she was totally eyeing her body. Especially those legs.
Wait! If memory served, An Hua Senior would trip coming offstage after her speech. The male lead would catch her, sparking her instant crush.
Huh… sounded familiar, like her own plotline…
To get a close-up of those legs, Liang Sheng decided to steal the male lead’s hero moment.
Sure enough, as the boring speech wrapped up, An Hua wobbled on the steps, letting out a startled cry as she fell. Liang Sheng smirked. Perfect—time to cop a feel… er, help a fellow student!
But just as Liang Sheng grabbed An Hua Senior’s hand, Su Ze popped up out of nowhere and wrapped an arm around her waist.
“Ding~”
Favorability increased.
“Favorability toward Su Ze: 45
Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 5″
Liang Sheng was speechless. Whoa, Senior, your ice queen black-haired persona just shattered! Shattered! One waist-hug and you’re swooning?
A suspicious blush crept over An Hua’s face. She pushed Su Ze away and steadied herself, but forgot to let go of Liang Sheng’s hand.
Only then did Liang Sheng get a good look at Su Ze. Honestly, he was way hotter than she’d imagined. She’d pegged him as some emotionless, short, poor loser.
Liang Sheng squinted inadvertently, and stats popped up:
“Name: Su Ze
Age: 16
Height: 179 cm
Weight: 60 kg
Looks: A
Favorability toward Su Ze: 100+
Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 33″
Whoa, first time seeing 100+. Wild metric. And talk about narcissistic—100+ for himself. Liang Sheng muttered under her breath.
Just then, Song An’an rushed over, eyes locked on Liang Sheng holding An Hua’s hand.
“Swoosh~” Favorability dropped.
“Song An’an’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 50”
Liang Sheng yanked her hand free and blurted, “I just caught An Hua Senior before she fell. We’re not close or anything.”
Truth be told, Liang Sheng had no idea why she was explaining. Probably because Song An’an’s stare was downright creepy.
