Liang Sheng was so out of breath that she bent over, hands on her knees, panting nonstop. In her mind, she couldn’t help thinking: if Bai Zhen’s kissing skills were already this incredible, then what must it be like between the sheets…
The front desk service staff were utterly dumbfounded. The event rules only called for a quick peck on the cheek—who would’ve thought these two girls would put on a steamy preview straight out of some paywalled adult flick?
“Can we get the event prize now?” Bai Zhen glanced at the front desk counter, nudging the frozen service staff back to reality.
The female service staff mumbled incoherently for a moment, her limbs stiff as she fumbled in the cabinet and pulled out a beautifully designed dress. She handed it over to Bai Zhen.
Bai Zhen turned around, ready to pass it to Liang Sheng.
But the service staff called out to stop her.
Liang Sheng had finally caught her breath when she heard the service staff hail Bai Zhen. Her heart clenched—she thought for sure the celebrity’s identity had been exposed.
“Miss, hold on. You haven’t picked up the free mini cakes yet.”
Oh… so it wasn’t about the identity slip after all. Liang Sheng’s taut nerves eased.
Bai Zhen approached Liang Sheng, one hand clutching the dress and the other balancing a plate of cakes. Ever perceptive, Liang Sheng took the dress and leaned into her side. Bai Zhen’s arm naturally settled around her shoulders.
The service staff stared in shock, but that was nothing compared to He Wennuo and Ye Yuzhe on the nearby sofa. The pair turned into total space cadets, jaws dropped, frozen solid like they’d been hit by a hex.
“Hey, why do you two look so hilarious?” Liang Sheng bounced over, waving a hand in their faces.
He Wennuo snapped out of it first, flustered as he straightened his collar. “N-Nothing, we’re fine.”
Ye Yuzhe recovered a beat later. Watching others kiss had turned his face beet red; embarrassed, he ducked his head and bit his lip.
While Liang Sheng admired the little dress, He Wennuo sneaked his cousin Bai Zhen a thumbs-up. Epic!
Bai Zhen just smiled, saying nothing, but inwardly she was thrilled.
By now, Ye Yuzhe had pieced it together: Liang Sheng’s “event participation” had meant kissing Bai Zhen? He’d totally misjudged her… such filthy thoughts! He inwardly berated himself.
“Ding!” Favorability increased sharply.
“Ye Yuzhe’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 92”
Liang Sheng smirked to herself. Talk about killing two birds with one stone—this favorability jump meant Ye Yuzhe was starting to see her as a real friend. With a little more effort, that platonic bond could rival romance in importance!
“Here, Yuzhee!” Liang Sheng handed the little dress to Ye Yuzhe. “I joined the event like we agreed, so this prize is yours!”
Ye Yuzhe shook his head furiously, waving his hands. “No, no, I don’t want it. Really, Liang Sheng—you like this dress too. I can’t take it!”
He’d just wrongly suspected her, even inwardly griping that she was some green-tea type, and now here she was offering him a dress she clearly wanted herself… The guilt hit Ye Yuzhe hard, pushing his favorability even higher.
“Ding~” Favorability rose.
“Ye Yuzhe’s Favorability toward Liang Sheng: 98”
“Ah, if you don’t take it, you’ll miss out on such a cute dress!” Liang Sheng kept up the mock insistence.
Ye Yuzhe refused over and over until Liang Sheng gracefully pocketed the dress. What a principled kid—he was growing on her more by the minute, like her own child. Daughter? Nah. Son? Not quite. Anyway, she just found him more and more endearing.
“Hey, He Wennuo…” After a few bites of cake, Ye Yuzhe couldn’t hold back. He nudged He Wennuo’s arm, fidgeting awkwardly before blurting, “I really like that dress. Could you… maybe go do the event with me?”
He Wennuo perked up instantly. He was dying for more “accidental” contact with his crush!
“Sure! Absolutely! No problem!” He fired off the triple affirmative.
Liang Sheng facepalmed. As He Wennuo passed her seat, she viciously pinched his thigh. He winced and glanced down at the culprit, only to meet Liang Sheng’s fierce glare. She jabbed a finger at her phone, signaling him to check her message.
Even He Wennuo got the hint. He pulled out his phone, opened it, and read Liang Sheng’s note:
“When you kiss, make it quick—a light brush like dragonfly skimming water, two or three seconds tops, ideally one. Don’t linger or you’ll creep him out. After, apologize right away. Act super nonchalant, not like you’re savoring it. Don’t ask why now—just trust me, do it my way, and I’ll explain later.”
He Wennuo hesitated, but glancing at his captivating cousin—who’d totally fallen under Liang Sheng’s spell—he got it. Following her advice was foolproof.
“You two… are a couple?” The service staff asked skeptically.
First pair looked like a guy and girl at a glance, but up close both girls. Now this pair seemed guy-girl too, but scrutinized… both guys?
“Yes, we’re a couple.” He Wennuo nodded, sparing the shy Ye Yuzhe the answer.
“Alright then…” The service staff started explaining the process.
He Wennuo waved her off. “No need—we overheard earlier.”
With that, he gently gripped Ye Yuzhe’s shoulder, murmured “Sorry about this,” and swiftly pecked him. True to Liang Sheng’s advice, it was over in a flash before he straightened up.
“My apologies.” He Wennuo feigned cool composure, though fireworks were exploding in his chest.
The service staff blinked—that kiss was lightning-fast. Still, she’d seen lips meet, so no point hassling customers. She briskly fetched another dress from the cabinet and handed it to He Wennuo.
He took it, tucked it into Ye Yuzhe’s arms, and turned. “Let’s go. We got the dress.”
Why was he so aloof? Ye Yuzhe, who’d always rebuffed He Wennuo’s advances, now looked oddly dejected.
