“Ah! Yuqi, Senior Sister Yuqi! You, you bit me!” Liang Sheng rubbed her own ear in annoyance.
“Hahaha!” Gu Yuqi let out a hearty laugh a few times before tapping her lips with her finger.
“This is your punishment, oh~ my cute little junior sister~” Gu Yuqi waved at Liang Sheng. She gazed contentedly at the other girl’s flushed face before walking away.
Bullying her adorable little junior sister was surprisingly fun.
“A-A-Sheng.” Song An’an stood timidly to one side. “What happened?”
“It’s nothing.” Liang Sheng lowered the hand that had been covering her ear.
I like Senior Sister. Hehe~
“Come on, let me take care of that wound on your face.” Liang Sheng led Song An’an into the room and pulled a first-aid kit from the drawer. “A girl with a scar on her face wouldn’t look pretty anymore.”
“Mm-hmm!” Song An’an sat happily on the bed, tilting her head up as she waited for Liang Sheng to tend to her wound.
Liang Sheng was afraid of hurting Song An’an, so she carefully dabbed at the wound with disinfectant cotton. Every so often, she would ask, “Does it hurt, An’an?” Song An’an always replied, “It doesn’t hurt!”
In truth, it hurt quite a bit at times, but Song An’an clenched her little fists and held back. She didn’t want to admit the pain, fearing that Liang Sheng might stop helping her.
Once the wound was treated, Song An’an still didn’t want to leave. She wanted to keep sticking around Liang Sheng. Liang Sheng could easily see through the poorly hidden thoughts of the girl and invited her to stay for dinner.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Another chance to spend time with her A-Sheng? Count her in!
A little while later, Zhong Wen returned home with Liang Jin, whose leg was wrapped in bandages. Liang Sheng crouched down to inspect Liang Jin’s leg.
“Whoa, it’s turned into an elephant leg~” Liang Sheng teased her cousin with a cheeky grin.
Liang Jin laughed once, then instantly pulled a straight face. “An elephant leg is still slimmer than Sister Liang Sheng’s legs.”
“Hahaha, you little lass, you’re such a naughty one.” Liang Sheng took advantage of Liang Jin not being able to move her leg freely and started tickling her sides.
The two sisters tussled playfully. Liang Jin was stronger than Liang Sheng and quickly pinned her down. Liang Sheng waved frantically at the bewildered Song An’an nearby. “Come help me quick! Are you just going to stand there and watch your A-Sheng get bullied by her little sister?”
“Okay!” Song An’an jumped into the fray.
“Stop, stop, stop! My hair’s a mess now.” Liang Sheng’s hair had come completely undone. With her curls, she looked like a giant popcorn ball.
“Are you as bad off as me?” Liang Jin’s short hair had been tousled into a static-charged frizz, sticking up like a hedgehog.
Liang Sheng couldn’t help but burst out laughing. “Haha!” When she turned to look at short-haired Song An’an, the girl’s hair had frizzed up just like Liang Jin’s, puffed out wildly from the static.
The girls looked at one another and promptly dissolved into laughter.
“Alright, stop picking on Liang Jin. She’s the patient here.” The family cook—Zhong Wen—had finished preparing dinner and called the rowdy girls over to eat.
Liang Sheng dashed to the table and sat down. She was starving.
“Hey now, aren’t you going to wait for An’an and Little Sister Liang Jin? You little glutton.” Zhong Wen didn’t scold Liang Sheng. Instead, she smiled indulgently.
“Hehe.” Liang Sheng let out a silly grin. She knew that the original owner of this body had a family full of doting daughter fanatics.
“We’re all family here. What’s there to worry about?” Liang Sheng brandished her chopsticks. “Come on, everyone, dinner time!”
A sudden surge of happiness overwhelmed Song An’an. Liang Sheng had just called her family! A lover counted as family, right?
Liang Jin didn’t think much of it, but she found the scene warm and familiar—something she hadn’t felt in a long time.
“You couldn’t even help prop up this poor invalid.” Liang Jin hopped on one leg over to the table.
Liang Sheng hurried to reply but choked on the snow cake in her mouth, coughing violently. She felt like she might cough up acute pneumonia. “Cough cough cough. You’re calling yourself an invalid? What happened to that when you had me pinned on the sofa tickling me earlier?”
Liang Jin had no comeback. Between the fright from earlier and her hunger, she was practically drooling over the feast on the table. She decided not to bicker with her cousin and grabbed her chopsticks, digging in ravenously.
“Look at the two of you eating like that. Now look at sweet An’an—such a proper young lady.” Zhong Wen watched the three girls eat with an amused chuckle.
Song An’an ducked her head and ate quietly. But her heart was anything but calm.
Ahhh, A-Sheng’s mom complimented me! The great Mother Liang Sheng praised me! She called me ladylike! Does that mean she likes me a bit? Adults always love good girls, right? It has to be!
Hehehe, does that mean soon I can call A-Sheng’s mother ‘Mom’ too? Oh my god, my future mother-in-law is sitting right across from me. This feels too good to handle!
This peaceful harmony was shattered by the sound of a child crying from next door.
Liang Sheng nearly laughed, feeling a touch of schadenfreude. She pointed her chopsticks at the villa across the way. “That house is at it again, beating their kid. Their family has those two twin boys—total bear children, the worst kind.”
And why not? Liang Sheng held a grudge. Those two bear children had called her “auntie” before! For that alone, they deserved twenty smacks on the mouth.
Dinner passed amid laughter and chatter. As night fully fell outside, Zhong Wen considered arranging the driver to take Liang Jin and Song An’an home.
“Mom, it’s so dark out there. Just forget it.” Liang Sheng could tell both girls wanted to stay over and persuaded Zhong Wen. “What if something happens on the road? Let them bunk with me tonight.”
Zhong Wen nodded in agreement, thinking her daughter’s words made sense.
“But we’ve got plenty of guest rooms. Have them sleep there. It’ll be cramped sharing with you.”
“Not cramped at all!” Liang Jin and Song An’an said in unison.
“Better for Big Sis An’an to take the guest room. It’s been forever since I slept with Sister Liang Sheng, and I’ve got secrets to whisper with her.” Liang Jin grinned mischievously as she hugged her cousin’s arm.
“You’re the patient here, Little Sister Liang Jin. What if A-Sheng accidentally bumps your leg at night? That’d be a bad trade-off. I’ll bunk with A-Sheng instead. I haven’t chatted with her in ages.” Song An’an tried to politely sideline Liang Jin.
“No, no, me!” Liang Jin pushed back. “Thanks for the concern, Big Sis An’an, but my sister might grind her teeth in her sleep.”
Liang Sheng: “……???”
“No, no, really, me!” Song An’an pressed on. “A-Sheng might kick in her sleep or snore.”
Liang Sheng: “……???!!!” Fine, fight over it, but why slander me like this? My goddess image!
“How about…” Liang Sheng, stuck between them, weakly raised her hand. “You two sleep in my room, and I’ll take the guest room?”
In the end, the true winner turned out to be the guest room.
