This spot was now claimed by Hong Gang, the Vajra Crab.
Bai Sha and Yin Sha didn’t stay. Instead, they continued deeper along the passage.
The tunnels here branched out in every direction. After swimming a short distance, they would encounter turn after turn, fork after fork.
As they swam down, they also spotted the figures of Mo Hen and Hong Xing. The two Demon Cultivators had each chosen a spot and were bombarding the rocky walls, beginning their search for Water Jade Stones.
“Let’s stop here.”
Yin Sha led Bai Sha into another tunnel and chose a spot where the stone wall looked particularly thick and solid.
Immediately, Yin Sha opened her mouth and spat out a jet of water that blasted into the wall in front of her.
“Boom!”
With a thunderous roar, the stone wall shattered, sending chunks of rock scattering outward.
Bai Sha watched this scene intently, then began to try and execute her own Water Dragon Burst.
The Demonic Power within her body began to circulate, vibrating and converging along a specific trajectory, finally concentrating at her mouth.
Bai Sha opened her jaw. From behind her stark white, razor-sharp teeth, a wave of water shot out.
“Glub glub…”
A large bubble appeared in the seawater.
Bai Sha: “…”
It was clear her attempt had failed.
But Bai Sha wasn’t discouraged. If she failed once, she would just try again.
Besides, Yin Sha had been constantly using Water Dragon Burst to blast the stone walls nearby. It was obvious that, aside from searching for Water Jade Stones, she was also deliberately demonstrating the ability right in front of Bai Sha so she could continue observing and eventually master it herself.
One had to admit, Yin Sha was very considerate.
And so, Bai Sha continued practicing her ability while observing Yin Sha.
However, Yin Sha couldn’t keep using Water Dragon Burst indefinitely. Casting a spell would eventually deplete Demonic Power. After a while, when her power had dwindled to a certain point, Yin Sha stopped. She began swimming around the large crater she had created, searching for any sign of Water Jade Stones.
Water Jade Stone was a relatively hard mineral, so there was no worry that the previous bombardment could have damaged it.
It didn’t take long for a look of delight to appear on Yin Sha’s face. She used her pectoral fin to pat a head-sized chunk of broken rock, turning it around to reveal a patch of warm, ocean-blue hue on the other side.
It was unmistakably a Water Jade Stone, still encased in its rocky shell.
Yin Sha had already found something.
Naturally, Bai Sha wouldn’t be empty-handed either.
She opened her mouth, and a jet of water shot out, slamming into the stone wall before her.
A muffled bang followed, and cracks immediately spiderwebbed across the wall. Though the area wasn’t large, it was enough to prove her Water Dragon Burst now held some destructive power.
While it was still far from the level of destruction Yin Sha could cause, it was a very promising start.
In high spirits, Bai Sha devoted herself entirely to mastering the Water Dragon Burst.
Of course, she didn’t forget to collect Water Jade Stones. She still needed to exchange them for contribution points to give to Yin Sha.
A day passed in the blink of an eye.
By now, Bai Sha’s Water Dragon Burst was looking quite impressive. With a single cast, she could demolish a large area of the stone wall. Even if the damage wasn’t very deep, mastering her first spell gave Bai Sha a budding sense of accomplishment deep in her heart.
To master a spell… that meant she was finally on the right track, didn’t it?
Besides grasping the Water Dragon Burst, Bai Sha had also found a fair number of Water Jade Stones, though the quantity was still far less than what Yin Sha had collected.
As for the other three Demon Cultivators, Bai Sha didn’t bother to check on them. She could only confirm they were still mining by the occasional sounds of distant blasts echoing through the tunnels.
