Volume 15
Chapter 28: A Hundred Years of Love (Part 3)
The reactions of the girls were also different. Wen Hupo’s reaction was the calmest. She looked at Lu Li gently, her expression unruffled, as if she had known this final outcome long ago.
An Baili was very excited, but she was still quite restrained in front of Chen Jianing and Zhu Qiao, just staring straight at the marriage certificate, not pouncing on it like a little puppy. Lu Li could almost see dog ears sprouting from An Baili’s head and a tail from her butt. She would snatch the marriage certificate and then, as if she had found a treasure, dig a hole and bury the red book.
The Silly Goose sat in her chair, her bottom shifting back and forth, her gaze a little unfocused, as if she were imagining something. Noticing Lu Li looking at her, the Silly Goose smiled sweetly and lowered her head slightly with a hint of shyness, her ladylike temperament on full display.
Zou Yameng lay sprawled across her seat, her body melting into the plush cushions with the satisfaction of a wish finally fulfilled. Suddenly she flashed a lazy grin and stretched like a cat awakening – every movement radiating renewed energy.
The Little Tiger was a little more embarrassing. Her petite body was tensed straight, and her breathing was a little rapid. She should still be digesting the fact that she was really married.
Zhu Xi had an indifferent look on her face, crossing her legs and drinking tea. Her light blue skinny jeans outlined her leg shape almost perfectly. Lu Li didn’t know if she really didn’t care or was just pretending. But he liked the way Zhu Xi crossed her legs. It was also something he could try at night…
Little Qiao was giggling foolishly, looking like she didn’t understand anything. Or perhaps she actually understood everything?
Lu Li waved his hand grandly. “We’re going out for a big meal today!”
Little Qiao’s mouth was watering. “Okay~ slurp.” The sound of her swallowing was too loud, and she blushed a little. She must have been hungry. Zhu Xi hadn’t hired an auntie to cook at this residence in Qiantang, so in the morning, the family had only eaten some simple youtiao and soy milk… It was fine for the other girls who were deliberately maintaining their figures, but for Little Qiao, this breakfast was a little shabby.
Lu Li chuckled. “What should we eat?” He regretted asking this question the moment it left his mouth.
“Anything,” Wen Hupo answered quickly, almost on the heels of Lu Li’s words.
“Anything is fine~” An Baili raised her hands high.
The Little Tiger hadn’t come back to her senses yet, still thinking, “Am I a wife now?”
Chu Jingyi said obediently, “I’m fine with anything.”
Zhu Xi raised an eyebrow. “The food outside isn’t good.”
Zou Yameng was refreshed. “We’ll listen to you, Lizi.”
Lu Li felt he should have, perhaps, indeed, probably made a mistake. “Let’s go for hot pot?”
“No, it’s too greasy.”
“It’s a bit hot today.”
“I’ve been trying to lose weight recently.”
“Can we have something else…”
Only Zhu Qiao was elated. “I want to eat hot and sour tom yum hot pot!”
Zhu Xi patted Little Qiao’s little head. “Silly Qiao’er, it’s better to make hot pot at home than to eat out.”
Sweat beaded on Lu Li’s forehead. “Then what should we eat?”
“Anything.” “Whatever.” “I’m fine with anything.” “It’s up to you.”
“…How about… how about the local specialty of Qiantang?”
“The flavor is so bland.” “I heard they don’t put salt in their dishes.” “Will it be very expensive?” “The portions are too small. I won’t be full.”
Stars began to appear before Lu Li’s eyes. He suddenly felt that in the future, he would perhaps have to endure seven times the “pain.”
…
After getting the license, Lu Li put the matter of the wedding on the agenda. When he held a wedding, there were naturally all sorts of people to help. All sorts of complicated matters were easily resolved under the offensive of money and power. Lu Li had still been having a headache yesterday about who to invite. The next morning when he woke up, someone from the Yan family had already made him a guest list for him to screen.
After considering various factors such as climate and transportation, the wedding date was set for October 22nd. It was also a coincidence that this was the wedding date of Lu Li and An Baili in his second life.
The originally leisurely and lazy big family suddenly became lively. Lu Li held Zhu Qiao, and had originally intended to sleep in and get up at noon, but he could always hear the girls’ voices and footsteps outside. One moment it was An Baili wanting to pull Jingyi, Jianing, and Hupo to pick out wedding dresses. The next it was Yameng asking around for makeup tips. After a brief period of peace, Long Jing would be shouting Lu Li’s name again.
By the time Lu Li had finally struggled out of the land of tenderness, he found that in this house, besides Zhu Qiao, who was still sound asleep, there was only Long Jing, who was glaring at him arrogantly in the living room—Baili and the others had gone to pick out wedding dresses. Yameng was actually getting along quite well with Zhu Xi. Zhu Xi had taken her to the central mall to buy makeup.
“Why are you shouting and hollering so early in the morning? Can’t you let people sleep?” Lu Li had a bit of a headache. This little demon lord was really not afraid of being hit. Every time he spanked her, she would cry her eyes out, but the next day she would be back to her old ways. Lu Li even suspected that this little demon star might have masochistic tendencies.
“Lu Li, look what time it is. It’s almost twelve o’clock! Where is it early! If you were in our class, you would definitely be scolded to death by Teacher Wang!” The moment she opened her mouth, Lu Li’s anger flared up. This little brat’s guts were getting fatter and fatter. Now she dared not to call him brother-in-law, but directly called him Lu Li. What would she be like in the future?
“You want another spanking, don’t you?” Lu Li deliberately scared her.
Long Jing subconsciously covered her butt. “You’re just a pervert. You’re always deliberately touching me.”
Lu Li said quickly, “Don’t talk nonsense. I have absolutely no thoughts about a little girl like you!”
“You’ve already touched me so many times. No one will want me in the future…”
Lu Li didn’t want to led astray by Long Jing. This girl was young but cunning, with a belly full of schemes. “Aren’t you going back to school?”
“Aren’t you going to school either? You’re still a university student!”
“…” Lu Li was speechless for a long while. From a certain perspective, he was the last person qualified to persuade Long Jing to study. He looked helpless, swayed, and sat down on the sofa. The moment his butt touched the soft sofa, he felt sleepy again. He felt he had probably been spoiled by the girls. When he was just reborn, he could still get up at six or seven every day. But now, every day, even if he was awake, he’d linger in bed entangled with one of them, lazing around until noon at the earliest.
This life was too comfortable—dangerously so…. Lu Li slapped his face and decided to set a small goal for himself. Otherwise, he would really become a big stallion. He didn’t want to write his autobiography as The Three Gunners.
“What are you yelling at me for?” Lu Li opened his eyes and saw Long Jing lying on the sofa unceremoniously, her slender, fair, and slightly chubby feet resting on his lap.
“Lu Li, I want to be a bridesmaid. I want to be Sister Jingyi’s bridesmaid.”
“We’re not planning on having bridesmaids or groomsmen. What are you making a fuss about?”
“It’s fine if there are no groomsmen, but I just want to be a bridesmaid.” She started kicking him again.
Lu Li grabbed Long Jing’s bare foot and, without hesitation, went to tickle the sole of her foot. Long Jing struggled and laughed wildly, tears even coming out of her eyes.
“Are you still going to be one or not?”
“No… no… brother-in-law, spare me…”
Lu Li pushed her off the sofa and took the spot himself, falling asleep. He mumbled, pointing to his own back, “You little rascal, come, give your brother-in-law a massage…” After a long while with no reply, Lu Li thought Long Jing had run off, so he relaxed and was about to fall asleep again when, who would have thought, the next second, Long Jing jumped into the air and sat down hard on Lu Li’s kidney.
A noble lady walking her dog on the street suddenly heard a man’s miserable scream from the small Western-style building behind her. The Chihuahua was so scared it yapped wildly. She quickly picked up her dog son and trotted away, still muttering to herself, “It couldn’t be a murder, could it?”
This was Lu Li’s plain and ordinary day.
