Chapter 19: The Cannon Fodder A Who Has a Crush on the Female Lead O (16)
◎This mad dog is loyal only to her.◎
Chi Jingyan and Jiang Mengyu each underwent a detailed physical examination.
Professor Chen was very concerned about this matter. He looked at Jiang Mengyu with eyes full of enthusiasm. If it weren’t for Chi Jingyan’s presence, Jiang Mengyu suspected he might have sliced her up for research.
He wanted to collect a little more of Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones. This time, Jiang Mengyu didn’t answer immediately, but turned to look at Chi Jingyan.
Chi Jingyan raised an eyebrow, her mood inexplicably improving. “She’s not feeling well. We’ll talk about it later.”
So she had noticed that Jiang Mengyu’s face was paler than usual.
Professor Chen could only reluctantly give up on this plan.
The examination results showed that Chi Jingyan’s body was very healthy. Apart from the slightly abnormal level of pheromones in her body, there were no other issues.
However, she was currently in her susceptible period, so this was considered a normal situation.
Jiang Mengyu was even more normal. All her indicators were within the specified range, except for being slightly anemic.
Chi Jingyan thought of Jiang Mengyu’s background. Jiang Mengyu was an orphan who had always lived on state subsidies, which was why she said she was short on money.
Money was the one thing she didn’t lack. If she could use it to make Jiang Mengyu obedient, she didn’t mind giving her some more.
Chi Jingyan looked down at the report in her hand again. It was Jiang Mengyu’s examination results. In the level column, it was clearly written: Alpha.
Enigma?
Chi Jingyan didn’t quite believe it.
Perhaps it was just that Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones had undergone some kind of mutation, allowing her to soothe an Alpha in their susceptible period like an Omega. Hadn’t there been cases like this before?
If that were the case, everything would be easily explained.
Because Jiang Mengyu was an Omega in an Alpha’s skin, she was attracted to her pheromones, and that was why their compatibility was so high.
Chi Jingyan looked at her own examination results again. After confirming that everything was fine, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
An Alpha in their susceptible period could lose control at any time, so Chi Jingyan didn’t stay at the research institute for long. She soon brought Jiang Mengyu back to the apartment.
She had taken a leave of absence from school and didn’t have to attend classes for the next few days. Chi Jingyan didn’t care. She began to order Jiang Mengyu around with a clear conscience.
When Jiang Mengyu wasn’t acting crazy, she was really obedient. Even if Chi Jingyan made her pour a glass of water three times, she could do it a fourth time without a change in expression.
Chi Jingyan was quite satisfied with her attitude.
However, she didn’t torment Jiang Mengyu all the time. Most of the time, Chi Jingyan stayed in the study, making phone calls and sending messages.
She was certain that the drug had been administered by Chi Jia, but she just didn’t have any evidence for now. However, Chi Jingyan had always been impulsive in her actions. It didn’t matter if there was no evidence. As long as she believed it was Chi Jia, Chi Jia had to pay the price.
On one hand, she instructed Secretary Zhao to cause some trouble for Third Uncle Chi’s company. On the other, she called Old Master Chi to complain about Chi Jia.
When the call connected, Chi Jingyan didn’t get straight to the point. Instead, she first asked about Old Master Chi’s health. “How have you been feeling lately?”
After a few minutes of small talk, she finally got to the main point.
Chi Jingyan knew Old Master Chi very well. She didn’t even bother to find a more reasonable excuse, just saying casually:
“Little Jia is bullying her classmates at school. They know I’m her sister and came to me. I don’t know what to do, so I had to come and ask for your guidance.”
Old Master Chi chuckled. “You said it yourself, you’re her older sister. If Little Jia does something wrong, you just need to teach her a lesson.”
He didn’t even ask what Chi Jia had done.
All of this was within Chi Jingyan’s expectations. Old Master Chi had always raised them like fighting cocks. As long as no one died, he wouldn’t care how they schemed against each other in private.
Chi Jingyan understood. “I see.”
Her attitude toward Old Master Chi was very respectful, with a hint of intimacy. However, Jiang Mengyu could see clearly that Chi Jingyan’s expression was, in fact, cold.
Chi Jingyan quickly hung up the phone. She let out a light breath and then tiredly rubbed her temples.
A cup of coffee was placed next to her hand. The next second, two hands were at her temples, massaging the pressure points with just the right amount of force.
Chi Jingyan relaxed her body. After resting with her eyes closed for a while, she suddenly asked, “Tell me, how should I retaliate against her?”
Jiang Mengyu looked down at Chi Jingyan, her voice faint. “Do you need me to kill her for you?”
She sounded as if she were asking if Chi Jingyan wanted a glass of water, her tone so casual.
Chi Jingyan: ?
Chi Jingyan couldn’t help but open her eyes to look at Jiang Mengyu. Only after seeing the seriousness in the other girl’s eyes did she curse, “Lunatic.”
But Jiang Mengyu didn’t think there was a problem. “Anyone who makes you unhappy should disappear.”
Chi Jingyan paused, then snorted lightly. “Then the first person to disappear should be you.”
How many times had Jiang Mengyu offended her? Hadn’t Chi Jingyan not done anything to her?
The massaging hands at her temples paused. Chi Jingyan heard Jiang Mengyu ask in a low voice, “Do you hate me that much?”
“Even more than you hate Chi Jia?”
Not really.
Chi Jingyan was just joking. If she really wished for Jiang Mengyu to die, she wouldn’t have kept her by her side.
However, Chi Jingyan didn’t explain. She stared at Jiang Mengyu for a long while before saying in a calm tone, “I’m handing this matter over to you.”
“Jiang Mengyu, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”
…
Chi Jia was taken away at school.
She had thought about how Chi Jingyan would retaliate against her. It would probably just be causing some trouble for her family’s company. She was confident she could handle it.
But Chi Jia hadn’t expected Chi Jingyan to be even bolder than she had imagined.
She opened her eyes from a state of chaos and was met with a bewitching and beautiful face. The owner of this face was standing in front of her, looking down at her. When she saw her wake up, there was no extra expression on her face.
Looking further back, Chi Jia saw several bodyguards in black suits standing guard at the door.
She took a deep breath. After calming the nervousness in her heart, a smile slowly formed on her lips. “So it’s you.”
Chi Jia moved her limbs and found that her legs were tied up, but her arms were free to move.
She propped herself up. “Chi Jingyan sent you?”
“How does she want to retaliate against me?”
Jiang Mengyu didn’t speak. Seeing that Chi Jia was awake, she bent down and picked up the syringe on the table.
Chi Jia looked at the pale blue liquid in the syringe, and a bad premonition welled up in her heart. “Jiang Mengyu, right?”
Her words were rapid, her tone a cold threat. “Do you know that what you’re doing is illegal?!”
“I’m a member of the Chi family. If you touch me, the Chi family won’t let you off!”
“Are you sure Chi Jingyan will protect you?”
No matter what Chi Jia said, Jiang Mengyu remained silent. She walked toward Chi Jia with the syringe step by step.
Chi Jia was both shocked and panicked. She desperately tried to move back and hide, but her body was inexplicably weak.
In a daze, Chi Jia seemed to smell a faint scent of jasmine. The scent made her dizzy, and waves of nausea rose in her stomach.
It took her a while to realize that this was the scent of Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones.
Chi Jia’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Jiang Mengyu. Wasn’t she just a B-grade Alpha?!
Why were her pheromones so aggressive?
Chi Jia finally experienced what Chi Jingyan had felt at that time. But Jiang Mengyu was much rougher with her than she had been with Chi Jingyan. She grabbed Chi Jia’s forearm and, under Chi Jia’s shocked and angry gaze, injected the drug from the syringe into Chi Jia’s body.
Chi Jia was so suppressed by Jiang Mengyu’s pheromones that she couldn’t muster a single ounce of resistance. She could only stare at Jiang Mengyu, the resentment in her eyes almost tangible.
After the drug was injected, Jiang Mengyu stood up straight and took two steps back, observing Chi Jia’s reaction with a blank expression.
Chi Jia felt as if her body was about to burn up. A fiery pain was in her stomach, and a dull ache spread through her limbs. She curled up on the sofa, cold sweat quickly breaking out on her forehead.
Even though she was in such discomfort, Chi Jia still gritted her teeth and said with difficulty, “I won’t… let you off!”
This wasn’t the first time Jiang Mengyu had heard this. Chi Jingyan also loved to say it, but she was still standing here just fine.
She had no other reaction. The emotion in her eyes was always cold, without a trace of panic from Chi Jia’s pain and threats.
Chi Jingyan watched this scene through the screen and inexplicably felt that what Jiang Mengyu had said might be true. If she asked her to kill Chi Jia, she might actually do it.
Jiang Mengyu seemed to have an almost cruel disregard for human life.
Chi Jingyan saw it very clearly, but she didn’t feel alarmed. She just watched the Jiang Mengyu on the screen with a calm gaze.
Jiang Mengyu was indeed a lunatic, but this mad dog was loyal only to her.
A strange sense of satisfaction inexplicably rose in Chi Jingyan’s heart.
