Chapter 5: The Scorching Sun Heavenly Poison Erupts Prematurely
With little time to spare, Su Lingxi and Su Yuebai packed simply and set off north.
Although they were already near the extreme north, it would still take about two days to reach the Glacial Snow Domain.
With a flip of her palm, Su Yuebai suffused her entire body with demonic energy, gently lifting both herself and Su Lingxi into the air.
An invisible barrier enveloped Su Lingxi’s body, shielding her from the biting cold.
The journey was long, and with nothing else to do, Su Lingxi could only chat with Su Yuebai.
“Yuebai, what’s your cultivation level now?” Su Lingxi asked curiously.
“After Master’s battle with Sheng Tianyu, both Second Junior Sister and I fell from the early stage of Mahayana to the early stage of Soul Formation…”
“Why is that?”
Su Lingxi was confused. Wasn’t she the one who was defeated by Sheng Tianyu? Why did her disciples’ cultivation levels also drop?
“Master may not know, but back then, to prevent the Demon Clan from rising again, Sheng Tianyu crippled my and Second Junior Sister’s cultivation.”
“Fortunately, it was only our cultivation that was crippled. Our meridians and spirit gates remained intact. So, after many years of arduous cultivation, Second Junior Sister and I managed to cultivate back to the Soul Formation realm.”
Spirit gates were an essential talent for a cultivator. The human body had a total of seven spirit gates distributed throughout the torso and limbs.
An ordinary person could officially embark on the path of cultivation as long as they opened one spirit gate by the age of twelve. The more spirit gates one opened, the more sensitive they were to the world’s spiritual energy.
It also brought additional cultivation boosts, making spirit gates one of the most important things for a cultivator.
At this thought, Su Yuebai gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with hatred.
“By a stroke of luck, Third Junior Sister was not detected by Sheng Tianyu at the time, so she is now at the mid-stage of the Mahayana realm.”
“The current Third Junior Sister is also the one in control of the Demon Clan.”
Hearing this, Su Lingxi gained a preliminary understanding of the Demon Clan’s current situation. In her original book, she had described the Demon Clan as the strongest in the Demon Realm, yet now it had fallen to such a state.
If she had known, she wouldn’t have written the protagonist to be so powerful. Now, she was just falling into the pits she had dug for herself.
Su Lingxi rubbed her chin, figuring it was too late for regrets now.
Another two days passed, and the countdown in Su Lingxi’s consciousness ticked down to four days.
But thankfully, they had finally arrived at the Glacial Snow Domain. The air here was thick with frost, and the temperature had dropped to an extreme that no human could withstand.
The vegetation and spiritual beasts living here were all thick-skinned and tough-hided, having evolved over tens of thousands of years.
Su Yuebai had to reinforce the barrier around Su Lingxi’s body again. Without this barrier, Su Lingxi would have frozen to death on the spot almost instantly.
Every step in this icy world was arduous. To avoid disturbing the spiritual beasts in the snow domain, the two could only trudge forward, one difficult step at a time.
Su Lingxi’s ordinary human body gave out after not having walked very far. What was worse, the system had only indicated that the herbs were in the Glacial Snow Domain.
But the Glacial Snow Domain was at least a thousand miles wide. The probability of two people finding them on their little legs was far smaller than winning the lottery.
“I can’t, I can’t go on. Let’s find a place to rest…”
Su Lingxi finally gave in. Su Yuebai had anticipated this and had already found a place for them to stay temporarily on their way here.
Su Yuebai nodded and, with a wisp of light, dark spiritual energy, led the way to a cave. Natural icicles several meters long hung from the cave entrance, making Su Lingxi break out in a cold sweat just looking at them.
Su Lingxi was cold and hungry. Only then did she realize she hadn’t eaten in two or three days.
Her stomach rumbled inconsiderately, and it just so happened that Su Yuebai heard it.
“Master, it is this disciple’s negligence. I forgot that Master needs to eat.”
“This disciple will go find food for Master right away!”
High-level cultivators generally didn’t need to eat, but she had forgotten that Su Lingxi was now an ordinary person.
Su Yuebai immediately flew out, concealing the aura of the cave entrance. Su Lingxi, meanwhile, sat inside, continuously adding firewood to warm herself.
“What kind of crappy system doesn’t even provide food? And I still have to get through this blasted novice quest.”
Su Lingxi cursed the system in her heart, then decided that her disciple was much better.
She didn’t know how long had passed; Su Lingxi was about to fall asleep from waiting.
Finally, there was a sound at the cave entrance. Su Yuebai appeared, covered in snow, holding a white, plump snow rabbit in her hand.
Su Lingxi was so hungry her eyes were practically glowing green. She stared at the rabbit, drooling.
But then she saw that Su Yuebai’s clothes were covered in snow and couldn’t help but walk over and brush it off for her.
What Su Lingxi didn’t know was that Su Yuebai had caught this snow rabbit with her bare hands.
This type of snow rabbit was extremely sensitive to the aura of spiritual energy, so she could only catch it bare-handed without revealing her dark spiritual energy. Because of this, she had lain in wait in the snow for a long time before finding an opportunity.
Watching Su Lingxi patiently brushing the snow off her, Su Yuebai felt a warmth spread through her heart.
The amnesiac Master of now was much better. The old Master would never have cared about such things.
But now that the snow rabbit was caught, how to prepare it became a problem.
Especially since the snow rabbit was blinking its big, adorable eyes, the university student’s soul within Su Lingxi couldn’t bear to eat it.
Bunnies are so cute…
“Master, turn around.”
Su Lingxi didn’t know what Su Yuebai was going to do, but she did as she was told.
In a matter of breaths, the snow rabbit in Su Yuebai’s hands had been turned into chunks of meat. By the time Su Lingxi turned back, Su Yuebai had already skewered the rabbit meat on a bamboo stick and was roasting it.
Su Lingxi ate heartily.
Watching Su Lingxi devour the rabbit meat while not forgetting to praise her, Su Yuebai felt a sweet delight in her heart.
In the past, no matter how fast she cultivated, it was always considered normal in her master’s eyes. Her master had never praised her.
Now, a simple piece of roasted rabbit meat had shattered all her previous perceptions of her master.
Looking at Su Lingxi with grease all over her mouth, Su Yuebai found the current Master to be somewhat cute.
So, she boldly took out an embroidered handkerchief and wiped the grease from the corner of Su Lingxi’s mouth. Su Lingxi didn’t refuse; in fact, she felt incredibly pleased.
Having a beauty wipe my mouth while I eat, I couldn’t even have dreamed of this.
Su Yuebai’s action was also a way of testing whether Su Lingxi minded close contact with her. Seeing that Su Lingxi didn’t refuse and was actually happy, Su Yuebai grew bolder. She scooted closer to Su Lingxi, so close that she could have leaned directly on her master’s shoulder.
Just as Su Lingxi finished eating and was planning to have a nice nap, she suddenly felt her blood surge, as if a ball of fire was burning inside her.
A mouthful of blood rushed up to her head. Su Lingxi violently spat out a large mist of blood and fainted.
Still not sure about this series but wow the disciple immediately lusting after her amnesiac master is really funny
