Chapter 26: You Think You Know That I Know, But Actually I…
“Erin, leave us.”
“As you command, my Lady.”
The half-elf attendant nodded and bowed as if relieved of a heavy burden, hurriedly leaving the room.
“She seems very afraid of you, Miss Nadia.”
When only the two of them remained in the room, Shelley’s temperament changed, no longer as upright as he usually was in front of others.
Sitting somewhat relaxedly on the stool in front of Nadia, he lazily looked at the beauty who was about to lose her composure.
“You said haven’t seen you for a night… I don’t understand, what does that mean?”
I don’t believe it!!!
My Greater Invisibility couldn’t possibly be discovered by you!
“Do you really not understand?”
Tilting his head with a faint smile, a trace of amusement appeared on Shelley’s face.
“Hmm…”
Watching Nadia become increasingly nervous, Shelley decided not to tease her anymore.
In case she got anxious and decided to silence him by killing him and destroying the corpse…
His wonderful life hadn’t even begun yet; dying young would be tragic…
Where would he go to cry then!
“Is that so~ Then I must have mistaken the person.”
Shelley nodded, then changed the subject and said emotionally:
“Last night, at the banquet held at Earl Rupert’s manor.”
“I saw a strange, beautiful, and noble lady lingering outside the circle of noblewomen, silently tasting various fruit wines.”
“I was attracted by her figure right then!”
“What a pity, because too many unexpected things happened, I couldn’t invite her for a dance.”
“I truly regret it.”
Sighing exaggeratedly, Shelley extended his hand towards Nadia, bowed elegantly, and whispered:
“I wonder if I have the honor to invite you, beautiful lady, for a dance?”
He doesn’t know about before!!!
Great!!!
Quietly breathing a sigh of relief, Nadia revealed a seemingly helpless and indulgent smile, placed her hand on Shelley’s, and was then gently pulled into his arms.
Feeling Nadia’s relaxation and feigned helplessness, Shelley gloated in his heart:
“Heh heh, breathed a sigh of relief? Naive!”
“You think you know that I know? Wrong!”
“You think I’m on the first level, but actually I’m on the fifth level!”
“What you know is all what I showed you!”
Casually casting a spell to turn on the gramophone in the room, this kind of alchemical product had always been strongly boycotted by Druids who protected nature.
Because there had been precedents of environmental destruction due to the development and production of alchemical products, Druid organizations across the Material Plane were extremely sensitive to such products.
A group of lunatics protecting nature wasn’t scary; what was scary was a group of lunatics with several Legendary Druids!
They would bring the wrath of nature to take revenge on any creature that destroyed nature!
After several Legendary battles broke out due to alchemical products, now only goblin cities could be seen selling alchemical products on a large scale.
Few kingdoms in human lands dared to openly sell alchemical products like muskets. The scarcity instead led to their popularity among nobles, and prices soared all the way.
Melodious music echoed in the study. Nadia, under Shelley’s lead, adapted clumsily for a while before starting to keep up with the pace.
“First time dancing?”
“Mm, no one has ever dared to invite me. You… are the first.”
Many first times are with you…
“Then let me take you to experience more first times!” Shelley’s voice interrupted Nadia’s reminiscence.
Looking up into his smiling yet serious eyes, Nadia laughed softly:
“Hahaha, alright.”
If only I could have met you earlier, how good that would be…
The two returned to the original table amidst the gentle dance music. Taking the initiative to pour Shelley a cup of black tea, Nadia leaned against the table, looked at him, and asked:
“How did you discover me? I felt I hid myself very well.”
Still a bit unreconciled! Shouldn’t be!
Taking a light sip of black tea, Shelley answered without hesitation:
“First of all, in Lunt, except for those noble girls who haven’t entered the social circle, I have an impression of all noble ladies. I can even name their original families.”
“Don’t find it incredible. Sometimes it’s these small details that can quickly close the distance between people.”
“And this was also my way of survival in the past.”
“Since I entered the social circle, I have been performing tremblingly, always worried about making mistakes and losing my value.”
“So I have always tried hard to enrich my hand, learning musical instruments, poetry, songs…”
“If not for my mentor, I might have become a bard.”
Shelley specifically explained at this point:
“Ah, my mentor is the Paladin who discovered me. He took me, who was still an infant at the time, to verify my bloodline with Duke Bell.”
“It is also because of him that I could live in the Duke’s family.”
“Although he has been becoming less like a Paladin recently… cough cough.”
Raising his hand to cough lightly, Shelley continued to explain:
“Secondly, I have a deep impression of your figure and demeanor…”
Taking advantage of Nadia not reacting yet, he hurriedly continued:
“And the most important point!”
“Temperament, or aura.”
Gently taking Nadia’s fair small hand, Shelley kissed the back of her hand. This time it was a formal hand-kissing etiquette; his nose tip touched lightly and then separated.
“Your temperament, in that banquet, was as dazzling to me as a lighthouse in the fog.”
“Moreover, I have long imprinted your figure in my mind.”
Somewhat shyly withdrawing her hand, Nadia blushed and looked out the window, only revealing her slightly red neck and ear tips to Shelley.
“By the way, don’t kidnap my maid casually.”
“Or rather, don’t kidnap my sister.”
Turning back, Nadia met Shelley’s smiling eyes, regained her calmness, and said:
“You knew it was me? Also, you can’t bear to part with her?”
Capturing her small hand back again and interlocking fingers, Shelley also looked out the window and said:
“Not hard to guess; you are the protector of all half-elves.”
“No, I can bear it. I also hope she can have the ability to protect herself, but I am not familiar with the growth method of Sorcerers.”
“So I hope you can teach her, let her possess the ability to protect herself.”
Not withdrawing her hand again, Nadia squeezed back slightly and opened her lips lightly:
“Do you regret losing a beautiful slave whose fate you could manipulate?”
Looking seriously back into Nadia’s deep light brown eyes, Shelley said slowly:
“I have never regretted it.”
After all, she can’t run away!
“Lydia is a kind child; she deserves a better life!”
Which is by my side!
“Is that so.”
[Perhaps out of trust in you]
[Or perhaps your acting skills are too superb]
[She has no doubts about everything you said]
[Nadia Conquest Progress: 47%]
[Almost there! Almost there!]
[The time of passion is coming soon!]
