Chapter 105: I Like to Kill in My Dreams
After Mingyan had the thought of leaving, he felt a sense of reluctance from this world. The entire space seemed to be humming, as if trying to keep him there.
He hadn’t felt this way in the Qi Sea of the Yaochi Peak Human King Physique. It was truly strange. Could he have really been born here?
But he had to leave. He had things he needed to accomplish. Perhaps he would have a chance to return in the future.
However, he wasn’t sure if he could. He had entered through the “#” symbol he found in the center of the misty region. He didn’t know if he could use the same method to return.
If so, was this space within the “#” symbol?
And if that was the case, did the “*” symbol also contain a space within it?
Mingyan thought that if he could find his origins, he might be able to find the answers to these questions.
It was time to leave. He looked at this space one last time. He felt he would return someday, for some reason.
As his desire to leave grew stronger, he was sent out of the Qi Sea and back to the crystal coffin. He stood beside it, looking at the woman with the imperial crown. “I don’t know what our relationship is, but I will come back… We will meet again someday.”
The woman in the crystal coffin showed no reaction. The sun and moon had returned to her Qi Sea, leaving the place cold and desolate.
Mingyan bowed and left the tomb.
He returned to the palace where he had first appeared and felt a wave of heaviness, his eyelids growing heavy. He closed his eyes.
When he woke up again, he found Ning Feixuan, Huang Feiyan, and his senior sister gathered around him. Seeing him awake, Yue Qingying took his hand, her voice filled with concern. “Are you alright, Mingyan?”
He sat up and shook his head. “I’m fine… How long was I out?”
“I’m not sure. We just woke up a little while ago.” Yue Qingying shook her head. “I was pulled into a dream. I was back at the moment Master found me…”
She smiled faintly. “It was a warm memory to revisit.”
Huang Feiyan also nodded. “When I was unconscious, I also dreamed of my childhood. It was as if I was influenced by something. I almost didn’t realize I was dreaming. It was so real.”
Ning Feixuan’s expression was grim. She was silent, likely having also entered a dream, but hers hadn’t been a pleasant one.
Mingyan was puzzled.
A dream? Was the space he had entered just a dream?
The woman with the imperial crown in the crystal coffin, was she also a dream?
If it was a dream, why did he remember it so clearly? And why did her face feel so familiar?
And why would he dream of her?
Strange.
“Did you gain anything?” he asked.
Yue Qingying smiled. “Reliving my first meeting with Master was my gain.”
“I dreamed of playing with my aunt when I was a child. Just as Qingying said, that was my gain.” Huang Feiyan nodded.
Mingyan thought for a moment, then took out the “#” symbol from his Qi Sea and placed it on his palm. “I found this. I just don’t know what it is.”
“…Is there something in your hand?” Yue Qingying looked down but saw nothing. She looked up, puzzled.
“Hmm? Isn’t it right here?” Mingyan looked at his palm. The “#” symbol was still there.
“…I don’t see anything either. Feixuan, can you see it?” Huang Feiyan looked at Ning Feixuan, who also shook her head. “It’s probably formed some kind of connection with Mingyan. Only he can see it.”
“Is that so?” Mingyan thought for a moment, then offered it to Yue Qingying. “Senior Sister, see if you can take it.”
Yue Qingying held out her jade-like hand, and Mingyan placed the “#” symbol on it. It passed right through her hand and fell to the ground.
“It passed through your hand, Senior Sister.” Mingyan squatted down and picked it up. “It seems you can’t touch it either?”
“Let me try.” Huang Feiyan approached curiously and tried, but she also couldn’t touch it.
Ning Feixuan didn’t try. “This is your opportunity. It likely chose you, which is why others can’t see or touch it.”
“It chose me?” Mingyan looked down at the “#” symbol in his hand. He still didn’t know what it represented. The “*” symbol could double his combat power for a short time. Could this “#” also be some incredibly powerful secret technique?
Ning Feixuan nodded. “Haven’t you noticed? The whirlwind has stopped, and the mist is dissipating. This inheritance is likely a mystical one related to illusions and dreams. But I’ve never heard of any related records. Among the ten most recent Great Emperors, none seemed to have a similar inheritance. But we can’t possibly know all of a Great Emperor’s inheritances.”
A Great Emperor wouldn’t just announce their inheritances to the world. Besides their descendants, who could possibly know how many inheritances a Great Emperor possessed and created in their lifetime?
“Let’s go. We should leave this place. We’ve been quite lucky to have encountered two inheritances. The remaining ones probably won’t be so easy to find,” Ning Feixuan said.
“Yes.”
Even though this inheritance belonged only to Mingyan, neither Ning Feixuan nor Huang Feiyan felt any jealousy. And Yue Qingying certainly wouldn’t have any such thoughts.
Opportunities were like that. Often, it wasn’t the person who chose the opportunity, but the opportunity that chose the person. So, there was nothing to be jealous of. None of the three were the envious type.
Mingyan stored the “#” symbol and left the area with the others. After they left, the mist completely dissipated, revealing its original appearance.
It was just an ordinary grassland, transformed into a misty region by the “#” symbol.
The “#” was likely, as Ning Feixuan had said, a mystical inheritance related to the ethereal concepts of illusions and dreams.
Mingyan thought, if it was related to dreams, could he directly defeat someone in a dream? I like to kill in my dreams?
