Chapter 78: Falling In
Su Yu gently pushed open the unlocked door. The living room on the first floor was pitch black. He fumbled for a while before finding the light switch.
The ornate chandelier on the ceiling instantly illuminated the living room. Su Yu looked at the luxurious yet understated decor of the villa and felt a bit dazzled.
He knew Gu Zhi was wealthy, but he hadn’t expected her to have such an exquisitely decorated detached villa in Qingchuan, where land was so expensive. And she seemed to have said… she lived alone.
“The shoes are in the shoe cabinet. Go find a pair and change. The shower is on the second floor. Go take a shower quickly, don’t catch a cold.”
Gu Zhi followed Su Yu in, closing the door behind her. The key turned in the lock with a crisp click, locking the door again.
“What’s wrong? Why are you staring at me?” Before Su Yu could speak, Gu Zhi seemed to understand. She dangled the keys in her hand and explained, “Oh, I’m usually a bit more cautious when I’m home alone. But today, with Xiao Yu protecting me, there’s no need for such precautions.”
Gu Zhi sat down and took off her high heels. Her flesh-colored stockings were soaked, her fair skin peeking through, reducing the hazy effect and revealing her delicate, painted toes.
“Xiao Yu… what are you looking at?”
“S-Sorry.”
Su Yu quickly averted his gaze, staring at the doorframe, his ears burning red under his damp black hair. He looked like a little thief caught in the act.
“Just kidding. Go take a shower.”
“Oh, okay. I’ll go now.”
Su Yu changed into the slippers Gu Zhi had pointed out to him. They were surprisingly a perfect fit. But he didn’t think much of it, still embarrassed by his earlier daze. He went upstairs, looking as pathetic as a cornered villain.
Gu Zhi stood downstairs, watching Su Yu go up the stairs, a peachy pink flush on her cheeks, her eyes watery, a hint of alluring charm in them, completely different from her usual gentle demeanor.
So cute… she thought to herself, her tongue licking her dry lips, her fox-like eyes sparkling with the excitement of a hunter who had just seen its prey walk into a trap.

Steam rose in the shower. The hot water poured down, dispelling the deep autumn chill that had seeped into his bones. His nerves slowly relaxed. He let out a breath, his mind a bit hazy.
His body gradually warmed up. Su Yu turned off the shower and was about to dry himself with a towel when he suddenly noticed a shadow flashing outside the door. He tentatively asked, “Sister? What are you doing at the door?”
The shadow stopped. After a pause, Gu Zhi’s voice came through. “I saw your shirt was soaked, so I brought you a change of clothes.”
“But those are your clothes, sister…”
“Don’t worry, they’re men’s clothes. Really, you’re complaining about me now.”
“Then thank you, sister. I’m about to come out. Can you please…”
“I know, I’m leaving. Still hiding from me.”
Gu Zhi held a few wet clothes, a fluorescent yellow light in her dark eyes. The bright yellow light of the bathroom cast the boy’s slender and delicate shadow on the thin glass door. Her gaze seemed to be able to penetrate the door. She watched for a while before slowly leaving, as if admiring her possession.

When Su Yu came out, he saw the clothes on the shelf outside. They were a neutral style, still with the tags on, all new.
He went downstairs and saw Gu Zhi leaning on the sofa. She had probably showered somewhere else and was now wearing a dark green, printed silk nightgown, her legs crossed, humming a soft tune. The loose nightgown barely clung to her waist, revealing a pair of long, white legs, the shadows at their intersection hinting at something more, sparking one’s imagination.
Gu Zhi heard the noise from upstairs and looked up at Su Yu standing at the top of the stairs. She raised her eyebrows, the corners of her eyes curving into a bright arc, looking alluring and beautiful, as if she had transformed into a different person.
“You’re done showering? Do the clothes fit?”
Gu Zhi looked away and leaned back on the sofa, her graceful curves turned towards Su Yu. Her thighs were crossed, her plump calves squeezed together. She seemed to have been waiting for a long time and was a bit bored. Her soft, red-painted toes dangled from her shoes, swinging… and swinging in the air.
“They fit perfectly. But… why do you have men’s clothes at home, sister?”
“I bought them to try a different style, but then I thought they didn’t suit me, so I just left them in the closet. Luckily, I bought them in a larger size.”
Gu Zhi answered casually, not paying much attention. Instead, she stood up and pulled Su Yu’s wrist towards the dining room, her voice full of anticipation. “Then the welcome party…”
The dining room was unlit, only a few candles on the table, their fragile flames flickering in the darkness. The red wine in the decanter glowed like blood in the candlelight.
Gu Zhi helped Su Yu to his seat, then sat down opposite him. They looked at each other across the flickering candlelight, the firelight reflecting in each other’s eyes, as if illuminating each other’s reflections.
“Do you usually live alone in such a big house, sister?” Su Yu asked curiously.
“Yes, sometimes it gets very boring… lonely. The nights feel so long.” Gu Zhi smiled, her voice becoming a little lower, with a hint of ambiguous hoarseness. She picked up the wine glass and slowly poured the decanted wine. “So… will you have a drink with me tonight?”
“I can’t drink much. You might be disappointed.”
“It’s okay. It’s okay even if you get drunk. Tomorrow is the weekend.”
Gu Zhi gently pushed the wine glass towards Su Yu. The deep V-neck of her nightgown, as if by accident, revealed her white chest. She was clearly not wearing a bra, and because of her posture, leaning on the table, her ample breasts were squeezed together, creating a deep cleavage.
Su Yu was taller than Gu Zhi, and he sat with his back straight out of politeness. He could see the half-exposed white flesh with just a glance, especially the two small, unrestrained nipples, faintly visible under the silk fabric, exuding a beautiful temptation.
Su Yu immediately averted his gaze, staring at the dark brown tabletop, but a blush had already crept up to the base of his neck. Gu Zhi’s fox-like eyes narrowed, taking it all in. She found the redness on the boy’s earlobes incredibly cute.
The tall glass scraped heavily against the table, a dull, scraping sound that seemed to grate on Su Yu’s spine. His just-bathed body broke out in a sweat again. He directly took the wine glass, stopping Gu Zhi from leaning forward any further.
“Th-Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. Why be so polite with me?”
The gentle smile remained on Gu Zhi’s lips, as if she hadn’t noticed the recent exposure at all. She seemed to be just treating Su Yu as a younger brother, without any reservations.
“I asked a friend to bring this wine back from a winery abroad. It tastes pretty good. You should try it.”
“Okay, I’ll try.”
Su Yu smiled and took a large gulp of the wine, as if to quench his thirst.
Gu Zhi held her own wine glass, her red lips pressed against the rim, her gaze fixed on Su Yu’s bobbing Adam’s apple. The vermilion mole at the corner of her eye, combined with her upturned eyes, made her look even more alluring.
