Chapter 39: Relief
Inside the room. The lights were dim and flickering, the walls a pale gray. Her heart was pounding in a panic. Vague, indistinct sounds scraped past the base of the wall, but she couldn’t hear even a faint breath from him.
He was pressing on her, motionless. He lifted his chin slightly, his eyes fixed on the girl beneath him. His voice was dark and hoarse, as if it had passed through a cloud of smoke.
“You lied to me? On purpose.”
“The fear was real.”
He Mu Qing stared at him, trying not to show her fear, begging and pleading in his ear, “Don’t go, okay?”
“I won’t go. I promise.”
Su Yu’s lips curled into a smile. He softened his voice to soothe her. But his heart was sinking. For some reason, he vaguely saw their shadows in the girl. Out of some kind of stress response, he became a little sensitive, trying his best to stop this trend.
“But you’ll leave eventually. I actually know what you want to say. I’m not stupid.”
She was still stubborn, her hands around his neck tightening. Her red lips were bitten white, as if in a fit of pique, but her face was a little uneasy. Her soft eyes were rubbing against him, weakening his defenses bit by bit, determined to make things ambiguous with him.
“You want to throw me aside, don’t you? I’ve been waiting for you for so long, and you’re going to throw me away?”
“Don’t be like this… don’t be like this.”
He Mu Qing shook her head, and the emotions that had been suppressed for too long erupted like a geyser. She was unwilling to lose.
“Why? Just because she’s being unreasonable? So my forbearance should let her be so wanton? Su Yu, this is not fair.”
His heart was trembling even more. His voice quickly sank, and he was exerting pressure, and he was intimidating her. He had never spoken to her with such a heavy tone.
“Can’t you hear me? I told you to let go.”
Her hand, which was holding him, trembled. She was so scared that she couldn’t speak for a moment. She looked at him as if he had changed into a different person, a stranger, but the smell on his body was familiar.
The on-and-off taste was really not good. He was clearly by her side, and their bodies were touching, but she was always separated from him by a distance, and she had to endure the instability of losing him at any time.
More than friends, less than lovers. This kind of relationship, which was on the borderline, was really tormenting. One step less was a stable and peaceful relationship, but it was bitter. One more step was a choice between success and failure, and it was suffocating.
Before some things were said, the relationship between the two of them was always uncomfortable. She was hovering, and she couldn’t find a way. So she had to watch as he walked away.
“Don’t be angry…”
She had returned to normal. She had lowered his head, and her voice was gently scratching in his ear. “I’m drunk.”
She was smiling lightly, and her soft and fluffy tone was captivating. She had gotten closer, and her red and hot cheeks were rubbing against him.
“Just… drunk?”
Su Yu lowered his eyes. He thought he might have been too sensitive, and his tone had been too heavy.
“You don’t believe me?”
She smiled and didn’t speak. She held up one of his hands and put it on her forehead. A pair of clear eyes were pure and well-behaved, and not a single flaw could be found. “Isn’t it very hot?”
He had avoided her eyes. The skin under his hand was delicate, and his palm was hot. He had quickly withdrawn it. “Yeah, you’re really drunk. Then go to sleep.”
“But I’m uncomfortable. It’s so hot.”
He Mu Qing shook her head and looked at him seriously. “There’s a place. It’s very stuffy.”
“Hmm?”, he turned his head, his gaze full of confusion.
She held his hand again, and along the contour of his cheek, she went down, and she had brushed past his long and slender neckline. Her fingertips had slid into the hollow of his collarbone, and she had paused on his heart. “Here. It’s very uncomfortable.”
“We’ll talk about it tomorrow. Stop fooling around.”
Su Yu casually withdrew his hand. This time, he was not successful. He lowered his head and looked at her, and her eyes were full of innocence. She had sniffled as if she were sobbing, and she was seducing him with a fresh and pure and white expression.
“You’re the one who’s making me uncomfortable. Aren’t you going to compensate me?”
The alluring charm that defiled purity was a naked seduction. He suppressed the restlessness in his body, his attitude firm, and he tried to pull his hand out with force. She stubbornly refused to let him have his way.
The two of them pushed and shoved. He used too much force at one point and suddenly lifted half of the blanket that was covering the girl. A wave of hot air rushed to his face.
He was blinded. A single, thin, and revealing bra. She was almost naked in front of him. The dim yellow light smeared a layer of sweet honey color on her body.
He quickly covered her with the fabric, tucking her in tightly. His breath was hot in his nostrils.
Desire surged, and his clear eyes were filled with a heavy, carnal lust.
He suddenly understood. Why had she only taken off her coat by the bed and had called him over to say she was scared? The narrow space was enclosed. She had slowly let down his guard. From the moment he had entered the door, he had already been standing on the edge of a trap.
Her cheeks were flushed, as bright red as blood. She gritted her teeth and took the opportunity to pull him down, who was looking down on her. Her face was buried in the hollow of his neck, and her voice was muffled. It was not like a voice that had entered through his ear, but more like it had seeped into his pores and had entered his body directly through his blood.
“Are you going to do it or not? I want to give myself… to you.” She licked his ear, and the thin layer of soft flesh was wet and damp, and it was a little uncomfortable.
The saliva rolled down his throat. He was hoarse, and he had turned his head away. His mouth was bloody, and he had struggled out with a self-abusive pain.
“Don’t say such things next time. Your body is your own.”
“Haha. If you really don’t care, then why did you have to throw me away? Because you’re afraid… is that it? You’re worried that the further we go, the harder it will be to clear our relationship. You’re so ambiguous with me. What are you afraid of?”
The pure and harmless little white rabbit was really drunk. So she had revealed a pair of sharp fangs like a slippery and poisonous snake, and she had bitten his neck, and she had pierced deep into his artery.
“Oh, I know.” Her hand was on his chest, and under her palm was a strong and vibrating heartbeat. Her smile was gentle and low. She had lifted the hazy veil, and the night was suddenly quiet.
“You’re afraid you’ll fall in love with me, aren’t you?”
It was as if it had hit the mark.
It was not out of fear, or because he had been intimidated by the other party’s words. His heart, physiologically, had twitched briefly and strongly.
Her face, which was flushed with wine, had a dizzy look in her eyes, and her words were also blurry. She had a smug smile, but she was as ruthless as an experienced hunter. Once she had bitten the prey’s throat, she would never let go.
“Go to sleep. It’s not early.” After a long silence, he slowly pushed her away.
She fell onto the bed in a daze, and the corners of her lips were slightly curved. She looked at his gentle face, his dark and thick eyelashes, and the high bridge of his nose. She had shed her familiar freshness and had become a strange maturity. What had not changed was the heart in her chest that was always throbbing when she saw him.
“If I were her, would you treat me the same way you treat her?”
“I…”
“Haha… you’re still so stupid. I won’t make things difficult for you.”
She was a normal person, and she couldn’t ask for any special treatment.
“Su Yu, I don’t care. I don’t want your answer at all. Just don’t think about leaving me. That’s not for my own good. There’s nothing more cruel than this. Do you know?”
She kissed his lips and looked at his eyes, which were in the shadows.
Her voice was soft, and it had touched his hesitation.
“So… okay?
