Volume 4: Them
Chapter 1: One Year
One year later, midsummer.
“Still on the computer?”
He pushed open the door and saw her sitting on the side of the bed with her legs crossed. She was wearing a very thin blanket, and her thick, waterfall-like hair was casually tied up. A few strands of hair had slipped from her ear and were drooping on her cheek.
It was mid-July, almost the hottest midsummer in years. It had burned away all passion and freedom, like a withered leaf that had been dried and cracked on a branch. He could only make do and stay at home. Every day was the same.
The cold wind from the air conditioner was blowing with a whirring sound. It was directly facing her, and it was lifting the light and fluffy messy hair by her ear. Her skin was always a morbidly pale, like a transparent glass, blurry and fragile.
Su Yu was leaning against the side of the door, and he couldn’t help but turn up the temperature of the air conditioner.
“I’m not cold…”, Xia Qiange stopped her hand, which was constantly typing on the keyboard. She turned her head and glanced at him, and a hint of a resentful look was in her slightly lowered eyes.
He smiled and saw through her usual trick. “I’m just afraid the medicine will get cold.”
“Then… I don’t want to drink the medicine either.”
She looked at the bowl of hot and steaming liquid in his hand. The white porcelain bowl was filled with a dark and inky liquid. She could smell the astringent and bitter smell of the medicine from across a door, and her pale face became bitter.
A mental illness also needed medicine to be cured. It was so bitter that it was killing, and then it was so sweet that it was in her heart.
He slowly closed the door. “This is the prescription that Mu Qing found for you from many old doctors. Chinese medicine is a little bitter, but it has few side effects on the body. Don’t think about anything. Just take care of your stomach first.”
“I think she just wants to harm me. It’s so bitter. Why doesn’t she drink it?”
She turned her face away, and the corners of her lips were pressed down. She was suddenly unhappy.
Su Yu shrugged and walked closer to her. He glanced at the half-lit computer screen, and the dense and numerous legal provisions were dazzling. “Are you still working on these? With your physical condition, how can I agree to you going to work? I think you should just forget about it for now.”
Her head was on one side. “It’s none of your business.”
His hand was on her side, and the medicine was in front of her. He was soft and gentle. “Be a little more obedient, okay? Go to sleep after you’ve finished drinking.”
The messy hair on his forehead was on his shoulders and neck, and it was light and fluffy, and it was a little itchy. Xia Qiange saw his dark and thick eyelashes, which were like the wings of a butterfly, and they were trembling. The fresh and dry scent on his body after he had taken a shower was very warm, as if it were seducing her.
His hand was covering her smaller hand, and his palm was warm. His breath, his body temperature, and even his gaze were all filled with a temperature. It was very warm, and it had an irresistible temptation for her, who was always with cold hands and feet.
She was like a little cat that had been attracted by a bird. She slightly turned her gaze and met his. They were looking at each other, and she saw his clear and handsome, unparalleled face, and the clear and yet captivating eyebrows and eyes. She was suddenly conflicted, and her depression was like a balloon that had been pricked by a needle, and everything was gone.
She was secretly cursing herself for being so weak, but her heart was trembling.
She was on her knees and was sitting up. The tip of her nose was lightly rubbing against his forehead. She was biting his ear, and her voice was soft and fluffy. “After I’ve finished drinking… is there a reward?”
Her loose collar had slipped from her shoulders, and her slender and bony shoulder blades were pressing against him. The deep and dark curve was undulating, and an alluring and warm fragrance was coming to his face.
Su Yu touched his nose, and his gaze was unnaturally wandering. “Cough cough, drink the medicine first.”
“You’re not allowed to lie to me.” She was persistent.
“Okay, I’ll listen to you.”
Xia Qiange took the bowl, and her lips were on the rim of the bowl. She first tentatively tasted the taste. The bitter taste of the medicine had spread to her heart. Her features were all wrinkled together. She had drunk it so many times, but she still couldn’t accept it. She was physiologically expressing her resistance, and the force of her hand, which was holding his, had increased.
“It’s so bitter. I don’t want to drink this kind of medicine again in my life.”
She raised her head and looked at him. Her eyes were wet and red, and her gaze was pitifully rubbing against him.
She was acting spoiled. He knew she was not a person who was afraid of bitterness. She probably hated milk more than she complained about the bitterness of the medicine.
He still gritted his teeth and smiled at her with a hardened heart. “Hurry up and drink it. It’s getting cold.”
The tears at the corners of her eyes suddenly shrunk back. She rolled her eyes at him and snatched the bowl. She raised her neck, and her throat was rolling. She gulped it all down, and she even turned the bottom of the bowl upside down. The medicine was all gone.
Su Yu was satisfied. He took the bowl and stood up, wanting to leave.
“Where are you going? What about the reward?”
Xia Qiange looked at him with an eager look, and her eyes were shining with a watery light. It was as if if he didn’t agree, she would cry again in the next second.
“I’m going to wash the dishes. I’ll be back in a while.”
“Don’t go.”
She grabbed his sleeve and accidentally fell on the bed. Her long and snow-white legs were wrapped around him, and she was leaning down and was by his neck. Her voice was seductive. “The reward is… to sleep with me.”
“Qian Ge… I still have some work to do. It will be quick.”
The gentle and fragrant place was too alluring. He swallowed, and he suddenly regretted turning up the temperature.
“I know. Anyway, no one is at home today. It’s just us…”
The last sentence was dragged out, and it was like a feather that had fallen on the tip of his heart.
“The bowl…”, he was on top of her, but he was panting heavily.
She curled her lips and smiled, and her hand was on his waistline and was down.
“Brother, hold me…”
His heart was suddenly scratched. Perhaps a person with a hard life would have a delicate heart. The more they lacked something, the more they would crave it.
She was so good at acting spoiled that she could easily make him surrender, and she had unguardedly removed his reason.
The bowl was casually placed on the table, and she had also closed the laptop. The two of them were familiar with the road, and there was an intimate and tacit understanding.
Her hand was freely on his body, and her fingertips were slowly stained with a temperature.
She was murmuring in his ear, and she was gently biting him. “I just took a shower. Inside…”
Before she could finish her words, the itchy flesh on her waist was suddenly pinched. She was moaning and was in a daze.
He held her slender and soft waist, and the two of them were lying on their sides. Their noses were rubbing against each other. He was buried in the deep hollow of her collarbone, and her breasts were soft and snow-white.
Her legs were on him, and her gaze was uninhibited.
He saw that his eyes were more and more lustful and cloudy. She really loved him so much that she was obsessed with him. Her heart was suddenly filled with a great sense of security.
She kissed his cheek and continued to tease the flame of desire. “Do you like it so much when I act spoiled?”
Su Yu opened his eyes, and his eyes were covered with blood vessels. It was a little scary. He shook his head, and he had a little bit of reason. “Do you want to get… insurance…”
She smiled, and her smile was bold and uninhibited. “I think Nian Nian is quite cute.”
His eyes were completely cloudy. He roughly pulled down the pajamas on her.
“Kiss me.” She was acting spoiled again.
She was in a daze, and the spring flowers were in full bloom. She was eagerly craving the spring rain.
He had casually turned off the light, and his desire was more unrestrained. It was spreading to every corner with the darkness.
…
His breathing was heavy. He wiped the hot sweat from his forehead and saw her slender and thin back in the moonlight. It was arched like a bow, and then it had slowly fallen.
“I’m really afraid of breaking you.”
She held his neck and was breathing out a hot air. She was drawing a circle on his heart.
“Then love me well…”
