Chapter 16: Goose Down

Ten o’clock the next morning.

The doorbell of the hotel suite rang a few times and was opened from the inside.

Yan Wei had no scenes in the morning, but her schedule was still full. She sat on the sofa, draped in a classic plaid cashmere shawl, as several people wheeled in a rack of three-dimensionally tailored gowns. Surui’s fingertips brushed over a pearl waist chain. “These are all the latest styles. Over here are two vintage pieces that Dior just sent over today. I personally think they’re quite nice. Take your pick.”

Yan Wei hadn’t liked any of the sets sent over last time, so she had to make another trip herself.

The dust covers were removed one by one, revealing a dazzling array of magnificent gowns. The staff, wearing gloves, brought them to her one by one.

Yan Wei’s gaze swept over them, finally pointing to a black one.

Surui looked at the limited-edition velvet gown and praised, “It suits you very well.”

Seeing that Yan Wei had nothing more to say, she turned and nodded to the staff. With the matter settled, Surui breathed a sigh of relief. “The company has been swamped with things lately. How is Bai Qiu doing? If she’s not to your liking, let me know.”

Yan Wei bent down to pick up the hot tea on the coffee table, took a sip, and looked down at her WeChat.

Surui didn’t leave right away. She looked around, habitually checking for any flaws on Yan Wei’s behalf. She was very cautious because Yan Wei was extremely picky and had a thing for cleanliness.

Her gaze finally landed on a paper bag in the corner of a table.

“What’s that? Do you need me to put it away for you?”

Jiang Mi was quite apprehensive.

Jiang Mi was pulled into the room. She saw that there was also a painting of an island on the wall of Mo Xi’s room.
