Chapter 84: Accompany You
This whisper was like a weed on the roadside brushing against her heart, and also like a meteor suddenly falling into her chest.
Yan Wei forgot how to breathe for a moment. She subconsciously wanted to grab onto something, at first on Jiang Mi’s shoulder, then on her own leg, and then on Jiang Mi’s hair.
Her knuckles turned slightly white.
All the annoyance and hard-won restraint quietly fell away in the car by the field.
She tilted her head up and, trembling, looked at Jiang Mi.
The sky was gray, and there was a streetlight far away, just landing in the bottom of Jiang Mi’s eyes. Those eyes reflected a faint light, deep, gentle, and passionate.
It destroyed her completely, turned her world upside down.
She was lost in this unknown night.
The air in the car had warmed up at some point, and a thin layer of mist gradually formed on the car window, blurring the two worlds inside and outside. The mist continued to gather, and finally condensed into water droplets, flowing everywhere.
Hidden at the bottom of the windshield wipers, wave after wave, it was as if it were endless.
Yan Wei finally reached out and held the back of Jiang Mi’s neck, bringing her towards herself.
This was a kiss different from any other before. She tasted a strange yet somewhat familiar taste. She grabbed Jiang Mi’s intact clothes, as if she felt that Jiang Mi was not as pathetic as she was, so she tried to let Jiang Mi wander with her in this night, crazy… free.
Yan Wei said, “Mimi… I love you.”
“I know,” Jiang Mi replied.
In the distance, car lights occasionally passed by on the main road, briefly illuminating this hidden corner, and then were quickly swallowed by the darkness. This dark night seemed so long, and yet so short.
The gray sky finally revealed a hint of soft light. The car was filled with a thick, absurd sweetness. Jiang Mi got up and picked up all the wet wipes and tissues into a paper bag.
Yan Wei was leaning against the car seat, breathing lightly, her gaze following Jiang Mi’s movements, her voice tinged with a lazy fatigue, “Don’t bother. Hold me for a while.”
Jiang Mi then got up.
Hearing this, Jiang Mi straightened up. Although the space in the car was spacious, it was ultimately limited. She could only half-kneel in front of the seat and bend down to hug Yan Wei. She hadn’t expected Yan Wei to suddenly straighten up and meet her, burying her face in her neck, her warm lips on her collarbone.
Then, downwards, her hand was craving Jiang Mi’s body.
The heat had not yet dissipated, and the intimacy began to rise once more.
She opened her mouth and bit down.
Jiang Mi’s neck was slightly back, and the lines of her collarbone were even clearer. “Teacher Yan,” her throat rolled, “it’s almost dawn.”
Yan Wei suddenly used force, and Jiang Mi let out a pained “humph.”
“Are you going to call me that for the rest of your life?” Yan Wei’s tone was filled with dissatisfaction.
Jiang Mi bit her lip, enduring the itching. “Then what do you want to hear?”
Yan Wei said, “Think for yourself.”
Jiang Mi: “Weiwei…”
Seeing that Yan Wei didn’t speak, she called out again in a low voice, “Weiwei.”
“Weiwei.”
The third call made Yan Wei completely lose control.
From the front seat to the back seat, the wind was blowing outside, and the fallen leaves fell on the roof of the car, and were soon gently shaken off, over and over again.
Until Yan Wei was exhausted.
In the end, it was Jiang Mi who drove back to the city. After circling around Yan Wei’s residence to check, she gently woke up the person who was curled up on the seat. Yan Wei was so sleepy she couldn’t open her eyes, and she let Jiang Mi put on her mask for her.
When they got on the elevator, she leaned on Jiang Mi’s shoulder without any scruples.
A smile was on the corner of Jiang Mi’s lips—she had never seen Yan Wei show such obvious petulance. At this moment, she was like a different person from the one who looked down on everyone on the screen.
She raised her hand and tucked a stray strand of Yan Wei’s hair behind her ear. “I said to be moderate.”
Yan Wei’s voice was a little hoarse. The more she held back her voice, the more her throat and chest had to use force. In short, it was more tiring than shouting.
She was not very comfortable. “My waist hurts.”
Jiang Mi couldn’t help but laugh. Yan Wei lifted her head from her shoulder and gave her a warning look. Jiang Mi pursed her lips and held back her laughter. “I haven’t even said I’m tired.”
Walking out of the elevator, Yan Wei turned her head and quietly sized up Jiang Mi beside her—despite having stayed up all night, the other’s eyes were only tinged with a faint weariness, but her skin still showed a delicate luster, and even her breath carried a kind of unconsumed vitality.
Yan Wei couldn’t help but think: Is it because she’s a few years younger? Even her energy is so different.
She looked away and instead asked, “What’s the plan for today?”
Jiang Mi rubbed the corner of her eye. “The crew stayed up all night last night. We don’t start until six this afternoon.” She paused, her voice softening, “And you?”
“Sleep,” Yan Wei’s answer was short.
“Those follow-up matters… don’t you need to deal with them anymore?”
“Tan Zhaoxin will take over,” Yan Wei lowered her eyelids. “I don’t want to touch them anymore.”
Speaking of which, she had to mention Jiang Hu. If it weren’t for being forced by Jiang Hu’s words that day, she wouldn’t have dealt with the matter so quickly. It wasn’t because she wasn’t ready, but because the result she wanted was not what she had originally planned.
What she wanted was for Mo Yun to disappear forever from her and Jiang Mi’s world.
For example, sending Mo Yun to a mental hospital abroad and locking her up forever.
But at this moment, she suddenly felt that it was tasteless.
Jiang Mi was right. How were they worthy?
Her time, her energy, everything about her had to be used on people who were worthy.
She had to find back all the past losses, what she had never had, the feelings she had wanted to experience but couldn’t.
Walking into the room, Yan Wei suddenly turned and held Jiang Mi tightly in her arms.
The light of day was gradually brightening outside the window, and the good weather was beginning to show. She buried her face in Jiang Mi’s neck, her breath filled with a reassuring scent, and said in a low voice, “Sleep with me.”
Jiang Mi gently hugged her back, her palm patting her back comfortingly, and replied, “Okay.”
Yan Wei went to take a shower first, and Jiang Mi sat on the sofa and looked at her phone. In just one night, everything on the hot search had changed. All the past accusations and scolding of Yan Wei had turned into sympathy and support.
Mo Xi had turned off her comment section.
Many reporters were gathered outside Mo Yun’s villa. The police had been called, but in the face of the ensuing insults and endless threats, she had argued with reporters and anti-fans countless times that night, and her crying had turned into her taking a kitchen knife from the kitchen.
The latest news said that she had been picked up by Mo Xi.
Mo Xi told the reporters that they would be going abroad soon.
No one knew how things would develop.
But Jiang Mi selfishly hoped that Mo Yun and Mo Xi would really not appear in front of Yan Wei again. Yan Wei needed, and deserved, a calmer and happier life.
A message from Zhao Jia suddenly popped up at the top of the screen. The link was an invitation, a red carpet event for an art festival, which was in three days.
Zhao Jia said that if there were no surprises, she would agree.
Jiang Mi: [OK.]
Just as she had replied, she remembered what had happened last night: [Treat me to a meal.]
Zhao Jia: [?]
Jiang Mi: [What’s wrong with a meal for five times the salary?]
Zhao Jia: [Please, she didn’t give it to me. Would you have disappeared?]
Jiang Mi: [What’s the necessary connection between the two? You’d better face your own problem now! This is equivalent to you selling me without a word! And I trusted you so much! Hehe!]
Zhao Jia: […?]
Zhao Jia: [Are you sick?]
Zhao Jia: [This is a win-win. Don’t you understand?]
The sound of the shower in the bathroom stopped not long after, and the door was gently pushed open. Yan Wei walked out wrapped in a bathrobe, her hair still dripping with water, and the rising steam spread out behind her.
Jiang Mi was curled up on the sofa, scrolling through her phone. Hearing the sound, she turned her head and happened to meet Yan Wei’s gaze.
Yan Wei asked, “Who are you talking to?”
Jiang Mi told the truth.
Yan Wei walked over slowly, with the damp scent of shower gel, and slowly sat down next to Jiang Mi. She glanced at the chat record on the screen, her tone showing no emotion, “You and this manager of yours have a good relationship.”
Jiang Mi subconsciously tensed. “Are you jealous?”
“No,” Yan Wei’s reply was light and casual, her gaze sweeping over “five times the salary” and “selling me.”
She suddenly let out a soft laugh, and her tone was slow and leisurely as she asked, “How much does she earn? Aren’t you afraid of it getting out that you’re suppressing your employees? What? Is it that you don’t earn enough, or that I don’t give enough? Hmm?”
The final rising “hmm” carried a dangerous bewitchment. Jiang Mi was speechless. That gaze, although calm, was more oppressive than any question.
Jiang Mi paused and muttered to herself, Why is this taste wrong?
“We’ve always talked like this. Whoever has money treats… but it’s different now. After all, President Yan is here. Will President Yan treat us to a meal next time?”
She had said half of her words, and Jiang Mi had timely changed her words.
Yan Wei’s lips twitched, and then she glanced at Jiang Mi. “Have you not checked your bank card?”
“Why would I check my bank card?” It wasn’t time for her to get paid recently.
“Look now.”
Jiang Mi sensed something, opened her banking app, and after logging in, the balance that popped up gave her a big shock. “Did you transfer it?”
Yan Wei raised an eyebrow. Her expression was quite amused. “Didn’t you ask me to?”
“Huh? When did I?”
“A million, forgot?”
Jiang Mi thought for a long time, and finally, she remembered that there was, indeed, such a thing.
—”Mimi, I like the way you pity me. When your eyes are red—you’re especially beautiful.”
—”I’ve never seen you be so good with words before.”
—”Then do you like it?”
—”I’m not telling you.”
—”How can I make you tell me?”
—”V me a million and let me see your strength.”
Jiang Mi: “…I was just kidding.”
After she finished speaking, she was actually quite happy looking at the balance. She said with a grin, “Oh, you’re too polite. I earned so much in one night. Come again next time, customer.”
Yan Wei: “?”
Yan Wei actually quickly accepted this setting. She curved her lips, and her chin rested on Jiang Mi’s shoulder. The fragrance from her body after a shower was like a seductive fruit landing on Jiang Mi’s heart. “Mmm, I’ll definitely come… remember to work hard. I won’t treat you unfairly.”
It was clearly Jiang Mi who had started the acting, but hearing Yan Wei’s words, her face turned a little red. But she quickly found it quite interesting and laughed, holding Yan Wei’s waist.
She smelled the fragrance on Yan Wei’s body and sniffed at Yan Wei’s silk collar. “Teacher Yan, you smell so good.”
Yan Wei’s eyes glanced over.
Jiang Mi understood and looked up to kiss Yan Wei’s chin. “Weiwei, good Weiwei, you smell so good.”
A smile appeared in Yan Wei’s eyes, faint, but it was clear that she was in a very good mood.
“You can’t smell anything?”
“I can.”
Milk fragrance.
Jiang Mi’s scent.
For some reason, Jiang Mi suddenly imagined Yan Wei applying this shower gel with a similar scent to her own on her body, from her slender neck to her pale pink toes.
The bubbles from the shower puff covered her body.
Soaking Yan Wei’s whole person in that fragrance.
“But it’s still not as good as the smell on you,” Yan Wei suddenly said softly.
These words made Jiang Mi unable to help but raise the corners of her lips and shrug triumphantly. “I’m going to take a shower now, and then… I’ll sleep with you~”
“Okay.”
“I’ll sleep all day!”
Jiang Mi was about to get up when she heard Yan Wei ask, as if casually, “When you go to work, and I’m at home alone and can’t sleep, and there’s nothing else to do, what should I do?”
Her voice had recovered a little, and so it revealed her usual coolness.
Jiang Mi also replied with a casual smile, “Then you can come to work with me.”
Of course, she was just kidding.
How could she really let Yan Wei go?
When Yan Wei actually said it, “Okay.”
Jiang Mi’s movements paused, and she blinked in some disbelief. “…Huh? Mmm? Okay?”
“Mmm. Zhao Xi and I are old acquaintances, and we haven’t seen each other in a long time. It’s reasonable to visit the set.”
Jiang Mi was stunned.
Yan Wei looked at her expression, and her eyes faded a little. “What’s wrong? You don’t want me to go?”
Jiang Mi shook her head. “Not really… but, then, isn’t our drama a romance? I’m afraid you’ll get jealous when you see it.”
“Oh.” Yan Wei’s eyelids lifted slightly. “A kissing scene?”
“No, no, no, not today.”
Jiang Mi coughed lightly. “Then it’s very normal to hug in a romance drama, right? If you go and see it, you can’t be jealous and angry. Okay? No being angry?”
Not today?
Hugging is very normal?
Yan Wei smiled slowly. “I won’t.”
