Chapter 44: Yoga Part 2

Finally, Xu Yinian overcame all the shyness in her heart. With a flushed face, she stood on her tiptoes and whispered into Bai Ran’s ear.

“I… I like it.”

That soft, shy voice sounded like a confession whispered directly against her ear.

It caused Bai Ran’s pupils to contract sharply. She nearly lost control.

She had phrased the question that way specifically to hear the word “like” from Xu Yinian’s lips ahead of time. But she had clearly underestimated Xu Yinian’s fatal attraction to her.

She had fallen, so easily.

Soon. It would be very soon.

From the moment Xu Yinian easily indulged her, she could no longer escape.

It wasn’t until Xu Yinian returned to the dorm that day that she realized her phone was missing. She couldn’t find it anywhere.

The thought of it being lost and having to buy a new one made her mind go blank with anxiety.

It was Bai Ran who helped her contact the Student Club Federation and the infirmary staff to help search for it.

Fortunately, it was found the next day. Bai Ran’s secretary delivered it personally, saying Xu Yinian had left it in the infirmary.

The phone was an old, cheap model, and it seemed perfectly fine when it was returned. She didn’t think twice about it.

The “lost phone incident” meant Xu Yinian completely missed the grand spectacle on the forums where people were shipping her with her two roommates. She was blissfully unaware of it all.

Military training finally ended after the drill ceremony. Because of her sprained ankle, Xu Yinian hadn’t really participated much.

She had merely sat in the stands and watched Qin Jiashu’s full broadcast of the event and Shen Ruoshuang’s stunning appearance as part of the flag-bearing squad.

However, being naturally quiet and introverted, she preferred attending classes. She couldn’t wait for university life to get back on track.

Once classes started, almost all freshmen found their schedules packed. Xu Yinian’s load in the Chinese Department was slightly better.

Chemistry and Clinical Medicine classes were scheduled into the evenings, and there were even experiments on the weekends.

But even so, Bai Ran would still make time specifically to go to lunch or dinner with Xu Yinian, maintaining the rhythm they had established during military training.

On Ji Yan’s side, however, something major had happened. Her father, a famous director, had been caught by paparazzi in a series of cheating photos.

Public opinion was currently fixated on whether the entertainment industry’s “model couple” would divorce, causing a massive storm.

Likely because of this, Ji Yan hadn’t returned to the dorm for a week.

Xu Yinian wasn’t really close to Ji Yan; in fact, she was only afraid of her. Seeing the news only made her feel surprised, and she had no intention of asking her about it on WeChat.

In the blink of an eye, it was Wednesday afternoon—the scheduled time for yoga class.

The only downside was having to travel all the way to the yoga room in the Central District gymnasium, though luckily, the school bus went straight there.

Jiang Ke had already made plans to go to class with her.

The bus was crowded, obviously filled with students heading to their PE classes. Jiang Ke was quick and nimble, snatching up the last two seats.

“Sis, you lied to me about your elective courses! If we hadn’t picked the same PE class, we wouldn’t even be able to go to class together.”

Ever since Jiang Ke saw Xu Yinian’s schedule, she knew her cousin had played her. She had been so annoyed she didn’t speak to her for several days, only to come crawling back right before yoga class to go together.

“My other classes aren’t things you’d need or like, Ke-ke. Don’t be mad.”

Xu Yinian had known this would happen and spoke in her softest voice to soothe her cousin.

Just then, a shadow suddenly fell over them as someone stood beside her.

They seemed a bit too close; their leg was almost touching her knee. There were so many empty standing spots, so why did they have to stand right in front of her…?

Socially anxious as she was, Xu Yinian’s attention was instantly seized. She peeked upward, only to discover that the person was actually Shen Ruoshuang.

Feeling her sister’s body stiffen, Jiang Ke also looked up. Her tone was immediately unfriendly. “Shen Ruoshuang.”

She naturally knew this famous roommate of her sister’s, but her dislike for the girl had truly begun when she saw the “CP” shipping posts of Xu Yinian and Shen Ruoshuang on the forums.

Jiang Ke could clearly sense the irritating way Shen Ruoshuang coveted Xu Yinian.

Fortunately, after some indirect questioning, she was sure her sister didn’t like the girl. After all, Jiang Ke knew all too well how dense her sister was; she wouldn’t like anyone.

Jiang Ke didn’t dare to clash with her head-on, so she could only resort to throwing tantrums and sticking close to Xu Yinian. Anyway, Bai Ran couldn’t control Xu Yinian’s WeChat all the time, right?

“This is my cousin, Jiang Ke.”

For some reason, the moment Xu Yinian saw the way Shen Ruoshuang was staring at Jiang Ke, she instinctively made the introduction.

Shen Ruoshuang’s gaze flickered. The faint scent of jealousy that had just begun to spread was retracted without a trace. She looked away and gave a curt reply. “Mhm.”

“Are you going to PE class too?” Xu Yinian asked casually, looking at her athletic outfit and the bus route.

She was a bit curious about which PE class Shen Ruoshuang had chosen.

But she never once suspected that Shen Ruoshuang would have chosen the same yoga class as her. After all, that day, she had clearly seen that the yoga class was fully booked.

Yoga poses were, after all, quite… embarrassing to do.
