Chapter 254: Revival and Conclusion
Ren Yinshan felt the dizziness fade and looked up in surprise.
Behind the ice sculpture that was once Qi Xucai stood a beautiful young woman in a white dress, her silver hair shimmering in the moonlight like a celestial being. She flicked her sleeve, and ice crystals scattered like stardust.
Qi Xucai, the powerful Crimson Demon, hadn’t even had a chance to react before he was frozen and shattered, his remains scattering like dust in the wind.
“…”
Ren Yinshan staggered to her feet, her eyes flickering. “May I ask… who you are?”
“We met at the Lin residence.”
“The Lin residence?”
She paused, her mind racing.
She recalled her visit earlier that day.
Besides the three beautiful women, she had also glimpsed a silver-haired young lady in the corridor, her figure shrouded in a mysterious mist. But to avoid causing any misunderstanding, Ren Yinshan hadn’t approached her or inquired about her identity.
Could this be the same mysterious young lady from the Lin residence?
The woman in white lowered her arms, her gaze calm. “My name is Yun Yue.”
“Miss Yun, thank you for saving me… Cough, cough!” Ren Yinshan clutched her chest, coughing, still feeling dizzy and weak.
“Don’t move.”
Yun Yue approached gracefully, her long sleeves swaying. She gently touched Ren Yinshan’s forehead. “If you move, your soul will be damaged. Even I can’t easily heal that.”
“Thank you for your help.”
A cool, soothing energy flowed from Yun Yue’s fingertip, and Ren Yinshan felt the discomfort subside. “That man’s technique was quite unexpected. I didn’t even sense his preparations…”
“You shouldn’t be so weak.”
Yun Yue withdrew her hand, her voice indifferent. “You’ve reached the Savage Realm, far surpassing that man. If you were serious, he wouldn’t have lasted five seconds.”
Ren Yinshan chuckled awkwardly. “I haven’t fought anyone in a long time. If I hadn’t left Ganchang Village recently, I might have forgotten most of my techniques. I was just… rusty.”
“Peace has dulled your fighting spirit.”
Yun Yue glanced towards the center of the village. “And that young lady… is clearly more ruthless than you.”
BOOM—!!
A deafening explosion echoed through the village, dust and debris flying everywhere.
Moments later, An Ke Lin, her golden hair disheveled, rushed towards them, clutching a torn piece of black robe, her face filled with concern. “Sister Ren, are you hurt?”
“I’m fine. This Miss Yun saved me. I’m unharmed.”
Ren Yinshan waved her hand, her gaze concerned. “But that man…”
“He was troublesome, but nothing special.” An Ke Lin tossed the torn robe aside. “I took care of him.”
She then bowed respectfully to Yun Yue. “Thank you for saving Sister Ren.”
Yun Yue simply nodded, her gaze shifting to the motionless bodies lying on the ground.
“D-Did you… defeat those monsters, goddesses?”
A timid voice echoed as the woman from earlier cautiously approached, holding her daughter, seeing that the fight was over.
Ren Yinshan smiled gently. “You and your daughter don’t have to be afraid anymore. Those villains are dead. And we’re not goddesses, Madam. There’s no need to be so formal.”
“Thank you… thank you for saving us!”
The woman bowed deeply.
But there was no joy on her face, only grief and sorrow.
Looking around the village, the familiar faces of her neighbors lay lifeless, the entire village seemingly deserted except for her and her daughter. Although they weren’t blood relatives, the loss of her community filled her with pain, tonight’s events a horrifying nightmare.
The smile on Ren Yinshan’s face faded, and she sighed softly.
If she and An Ke Lin hadn’t been passing by, they might not have noticed this village being attacked. Being able to save this mother and daughter…
“Help me.”
Yun Yue’s sudden words surprised both Ren Yinshan and An Ke Lin.
“Miss Yun, are you… going to cremate and bury these villagers?”
“No.”
Yun Yue’s gaze was calm and clear. She raised her hands, then pressed them down. “These people can still be saved.”
A vast, mystical formation spread out from beneath her feet, shimmering like ripples on water, enveloping the entire village in an instant. A surge of Yin energy, transformed into a gentle, life-giving force, flowed towards the villagers’ bodies.
“Hoo—”
Yun Yue’s breathing was steady as she formed a series of complex hand seals, moonlight descending from the sky.
This miraculous display stunned not only the village woman but also Ren Yinshan and An Ke Lin.
“Such a mystical technique… can it truly bring the dead back to life?!”
“No.”
Ren Yinshan’s eyes flickered. “Miss Yun is channeling the earth’s spiritual energy, merging it with Yin energy and moonlight, transforming it into life force to replenish the villagers’ lost essence.”
“This is truly…”
An Ke Lin was still astonished.
She had traveled extensively but had never witnessed such a technique. After all, Yin energy was usually associated with death, not life. To reverse its nature and use it to heal mortals was unheard of!
But they quickly recovered and placed their hands on Yun Yue’s shoulders, channeling their own Yin energy to support the ritual.
“…”
The village woman covered her mouth, watching intently as a nearby ‘corpse’ twitched slightly, its arms moving.
Although she didn’t understand Yin techniques, she sensed a glimmer of hope.
After about fifteen minutes, a burly man nearby suddenly shuddered and sat up abruptly, clutching his chest and gasping for air, his face filled with fear.
Then, one by one, the other villagers began to stir, looking around in confusion, unsure of what had happened or why they were lying on the cold, dirty ground.
“Hoo—”
As the ritual concluded, Ren Yinshan and An Ke Lin withdrew their hands, relief washing over them.
Seeing these innocent villagers revived, saved from this disaster, filled them with joy.
“Wonderful! Thanks to Miss Yun’s tech… Hmm?!”
Ren Yinshan paused, her eyes widening in alarm as she reached out to support Yun Yue, who was swaying unsteadily.
But as her fingers brushed against Yun Yue’s body, she vanished like a phantom, without a word.
An Ke Lin was stunned. “She… what happened—”
“…Don’t worry, she’s fine.”
Ren Yinshan’s momentary panic subsided. “That was just an avatar, a manifestation of her consciousness and power. It dissipated after expending its energy.”
“An avatar?”
“Miss Yun’s cultivation must be far beyond our imagination.”
Ren Yinshan sighed in relief, shaking her head and chuckling. “Since she lives with Mr. Lin, it’s not surprising that she possesses such power. We were just overreacting.”
“Thank you, goddesses, for descending from the heavens to help us!”
The village woman knelt down, kowtowing ecstatically. “You saved hundreds of lives in Yangzhu Village! You have the hearts of Bodhisattvas!”
“We’re not goddesses or Bodhisattvas. We don’t deserve such praise.”
Ren Yinshan smiled gently, helping the woman to her feet. “Please explain the situation to the other villagers, Madam. We won’t stay any longer.”
“Eh?”
The woman looked up, startled, only to find that the two ‘goddesses’ had vanished.
“They’re truly…”
…
On a nearby mountain path, the autumn wind howled, swirling fallen leaves around them.
Ren Yinshan looked towards the flickering candlelight in Yangzhu Village and murmured, “This place is safe for now. But there might be other demons and ghosts heading towards Changling.”
“Savage Realm demons… are beyond my capabilities.”
“We’ll do what we can.”
She gathered her hair, looking down the dark path, her eyes narrowing. “Those villains, committing such heinous acts for their own selfish desires… they deserve to die! I’ve only been in seclusion for a few years, yet these demons and ghosts have become even more reckless, believing those baseless rumors and using them as an excuse for their atrocities. It’s truly unforgivable!”
“Calm down, Sister Ren,” An Ke Lin sighed. “This hard-won peace has only lasted for a little over a decade, but this stalemate has displeased many factions. Conflict is inevitable, the only question is how and when it will erupt.”
“But their methods… are truly despicable.”
Ren Yinshan closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself.
After a moment, she regained her composure. “I hope this farce can end peacefully.”
…
Back at the Lin residence…
Lin Tianlu, having finished washing up and sent Hua Shuya and Mao Ruoyu to their rooms, walked towards the corridor to check on Yun Yue, who was quietly sipping her tea.
“Yun—”
“Cough!”
Yun Yue suddenly coughed, a pained expression flitting across her face. She clutched her chest, exhaling slowly.
Lin Tianlu frowned and leaned closer. “What’s wrong?”
“Just some insignificant pests causing trouble. They triggered a warning seal I left behind.”
Yun Yue’s expression quickly returned to its usual calm, and she picked up her teacup. “My avatar has dealt with the situation. You should go to sleep, Tianlu… Hmm?”
She blinked, a soft moan escaping her lips.
Lin Tianlu had placed his hand on her head, gently massaging her scalp.
“Tianlu?”
“Do you think you can hide your injuries from me with such tricks?”
Lin Tianlu smiled wryly. “I can see you’ve been hurt, your Yin energy depleted. If I didn’t say anything, would you just pretend nothing happened and hide it from me?”
Yun Yue lowered her eyes, her long lashes fluttering. “It was just atonement. Whether I’m injured or not… doesn’t matter.”
“You…”
Lin Tianlu raised an eyebrow.
It seemed his words had left a deep impression on her. Even in her current state… no, perhaps because of her current state, she was even more fixated on ‘atonement.’
“Miss Yun.”
“…Hmm?”
“Your kind deeds since arriving in Changling have already atoned for your past sins. There’s no need to be so reckless with your own well-being.”
Lin Tianlu’s hand moved to her back, gently pressing against her spine, channeling his abundant spiritual energy into her depleted body.
“Ahh—!”
Yun Yue’s face flushed, a soft, seductive moan escaping her lips. Her body trembled, her ample bosom jiggling, her loose dress slipping from her shoulder, revealing her alluring curves.
“Haa… I… I just wanted… Mmm!”
A blush spread across her skin, her eyes shimmering with moisture. She looked at him, her usually cold expression softening, a gentle warmth in her eyes.
She bit her lip, her legs trembling slightly, her hand instinctively moving to cover her pounding heart. The warm spiritual energy washing over her felt like a cleansing of her soul, a blissful sensation.
After a while…
Her soft moans filled the air, her body relaxing against his, her slightly dazed expression as she leaned closer, seeking his affection.
Lin Tianlu smiled, massaging her temples, his eyes narrowing. “I was tempted to… continue, but tonight… I have to take the initiative and put an end to this farce.”
