System PP’s voice drifted faintly: 【Looks like the host and I were on the same wavelength.】
Jiang Xiaoyi: 【……】
Hearing her own thoughts voiced out loud by System PP this time somehow made it feel even more embarrassing.
Through the glass door of the office, Jiang Xiaoyi heard her mother’s voice. She tensed up a bit. Had Mom finished talking with Meng Chuning’s mom yet?
“Sis, I’m gonna step out for a sec.” Jiang Xiaoyi scooped Meng Chuning up and settled her on the sofa.
“Okay.” Meng Chuning sat on the edge of the sofa, her skirt riding up to reveal two snow-white legs dangling down.
Jiang Xiaoyi crouched down and tugged the skirt back into place. “Sis, your skirt’s all wrinkled.”
The once-smooth suit skirt was now creased from being rumpled like that. If she went out looking like this, people might get the wrong idea.
“No worries. I’ll just change into another one later.” Meng Chuning pointed toward the lounge in the inner room. “Most of my work clothes are here at the office.”
Only then did Jiang Xiaoyi notice the hidden door tucked away in one corner of the office. Meng Chuning must take her naps there during lunch breaks.
“You change first, Sis. I’ll head out.” Jiang Xiaoyi slipped out and closed the door behind her. Turning around, she spotted Jiang Meilian just about to hit the elevator button to head downstairs.
“Mom.” Jiang Xiaoyi hurried over and stepped into the elevator with her. “What’d you talk about with Chairman Meng?”
Jiang Meilian looked up, the corners of her eyes drooping wearily. “Meng Qinglan is one tough nut to crack.”
“Mom…” Jiang Xiaoyi was startled by her mother’s blunt words. “Don’t say stuff like that.”
Fortunately, the elevator was empty. Jiang Xiaoyi draped an arm around Jiang Meilian’s shoulders as they left YN Group and hailed a cab home. “Mom, you can spill now.”
Jiang Meilian took a sip of water to steady herself. “Xiaoyi, I never expected you’d find a girlfriend so quickly. Even less did I expect to meet her parents this soon. And the last thing I imagined? They’d be the chairman of YN Group.”
She laid it out in that rhythmic, emphatic way, and Jiang Xiaoyi got a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“Mom, did things fall apart with Auntie Meng?” Jiang Xiaoyi could already guess the outcome. Meng Chuning’s mom had never thought much of her to begin with, so no way would that change overnight.
“Pretty much.” Jiang Meilian still looked shaken. “Tougher than closing a business deal, even. But I did get something out of it.”
Jiang Xiaoyi perked up. “What?”
Jiang Meilian explained, “I noticed Meng Qinglan loves fruit. She polished off the entire fruit bowl on her desk. Doesn’t that mean she’s pretty happy with the stuff we sent over from home?”
Jiang Xiaoyi nodded. “Sure seems like it. Anything else?”
“I suggested we could supply fresh fruit to YN Group’s headquarters for free every month. Whatever kinds she wants, just say the word.”
Jiang Xiaoyi sensed potential. “And then?”
“Then…” Jiang Meilian sighed softly. “Meng Qinglan said if it’s free, does she look like the type to live off the Jiang family’s charity?”
“…” Jiang Xiaoyi felt a chill crawl up her scalp. She could totally picture the icy, spine-tingling tone Meng Chuning’s mom must have used.
“Looks like I blew it.” Jiang Meilian gave a wry smile.
Jiang Xiaoyi’s heart sank, but Jiang Meilian patted her reassuringly. “It’s okay, Xiaoyi. Mom’s not giving up. I’ll win Meng Qinglan over eventually.”
“Thanks, Mom.” Jiang Xiaoyi was starting to get a little scared. Her mom might actually be better suited to business deals after all.
After dropping Jiang Meilian off at home, Jiang Xiaoyi got a call from Lu Xi summoning her back to Spring Wind Entertainment.
The moment she walked in, a few people crowded around her, dying for the gossip.
Lu Xi pulled up the trending topics and showed her. “Xiaoyi, you’re blowing up again.”
Jiang Xiaoyi blinked, eyeing the new hashtags climbing the charts.

Jiang Xiaoyi scrolled through from top to bottom and summed it up. “They seem kinda jealous of me?”
Lu Xi inhaled sharply. “So, Xiaoyi… you really hooked up with Meng Chuning?”
“You told me before you wanted to get in good with her. I thought you were just talking big.” Lu Xi grew more alarmed the more she thought about it. “What if Meng Chuning sees these comments and blacklists you?”
Jiang Xiaoyi shook her head. “She won’t.”
“How do you know?!” Lu Xi demanded.
Jiang Xiaoyi grinned. “Because we’re together now.”
“Wha—what?” Lu Xi’s eyes went wide, convinced she’d misheard. “You two moved this fast and I didn’t even know?”
“Who said you could start dating?” Lu Xi looked utterly betrayed. “Did you even loop in your agent?”
Right—Spring Wind Entertainment had a no-dating policy before.
Jiang Xiaoyi turned to Ruan Feng. “Boss, can I date?”
Ruan Feng was glued to the backend stats for Jiang Xiaoyi’s profile. Views were skyrocketing, discussions heating up non-stop.
“Date away!” Ruan Feng beamed. “Make it serious with Meng Chuning. When are you two going public?”
Lu Xi: “……”
The boss was fickle as ever.
“Huh?” Jiang Xiaoyi hadn’t even considered going public. “We just got together. Haven’t talked about announcing it.”
Ruan Feng chuckled. “No rush, Xiaoyi. I support whatever you do.”
Jiang Xiaoyi: “……”
“Oh, right. There’s a friendship variety show that’s interested in having you on.” Ruan Feng handed her the program script. “Big production from a major studio. Mostly hot-topic celebs lately. Wanna take a look?”
Jiang Xiaoyi flipped through it. “Boss, am I really that buzzy right now?”
“Not bad.” Ruan Feng shrugged. “Netizens talking about you is good—means you’ve still got heat.”
The friendship variety show script looked pretty fun. She’d meet a bunch of industry folks. Jiang Xiaoyi skimmed it carefully and saw the filming locations split into two spots: A City No. 1 Middle School for the school-life friends theme, and Fruit Garden Village for childhood pals.
Both places were familiar to her. Should be a blast if she joined.
After reading it over, Jiang Xiaoyi told Ruan Feng, “Boss, I wanna do it.”
“Great. Filming kicks off in a few days.” Ruan Feng pulled Five Years Gaokao Three Years Simulation from her drawer and handed it over. “Study up when you get home.”
Jiang Xiaoyi hugged the hefty tome. “?”
Did variety shows come with exams now?
…
That evening, wrapping up from the Want to Hear You Say set, Jiang Xiaoyi passed by YN Group and noticed Meng Chuning’s office light still on.
Half an hour ago, she’d called Meng Chuning, who said she was already home.
Jiang Xiaoyi checked the time—nearly ten. Had her sister come back to grind through more work?
The office floor was dead quiet at night. The sharp clacking of keys from inside stood out crystal clear.
What was Sis doing, pounding the keyboard like that? Sounded pissed.
Jiang Xiaoyi knocked on the office door and pushed it open. “Sis?”
Meng Chuning, brow furrowed, dragged her gaze from the computer. Spotting Jiang Xiaoyi, her expression softened into delight. “Xiaoyi, you should’ve told me you were coming.”
“I was just passing by and saw your light on, so I came up.” Jiang Xiaoyi circled around the desk. “What’re you up to, Sis?”
Meng Chuning’s screen switched to Weibo, trending topics about Jiang Xiaoyi front and center. The reply box had a draft half-typed.
【I’ve screenshotted every one of you trash-talking Jiang Xiaoyi and sent them to my lawyers. Lawyer letters incoming @OnePunchBigMouth @SpeaksWithoutThinking @JealousyTwistedMyFace…】
Jiang Xiaoyi glanced over, and Meng Chuning hastily slapped a hand over the screen. “Don’t look…”
So Meng Chuning was out here clapping back at her haters.
“Sis…” Jiang Xiaoyi leaned in close. “Thanks for having my back like this.”
Meng Chuning looked up at her. “Xiaoyi, just ignore those comments. What they’re saying is awful.”
Jiang Xiaoyi gazed down at Meng Chuning. She’d changed into a fresh skirt, a faint shower-fresh scent clinging to her. Damp strands of hair framed her face, like she’d bathed, gotten mad all over again, and come back to throw down with the trolls.
“Those comments don’t faze me.” Jiang Xiaoyi stroked her hand gently. “But they sure seem to be getting to you, Sis. Don’t bother with them—really, it’s not worth it.”
Jiang Xiaoyi perched on the edge of the desk, legs slightly apart. Meng Chuning stood between them, nestling into her embrace. “I can’t stand people talking smack about you.”
“I’m fine, Sis.” Jiang Xiaoyi smiled. “My boss says the buzz just pumps up my visibility.”
Meng Chuning insisted, “Still, lawsuits for the worst ones.”
Jiang Xiaoyi nodded. “Okay.”
They were so close now, Meng Chuning standing between her thighs, eyes downcast on her, satisfied only once she saw Jiang Xiaoyi truly wasn’t bothered.
“Xiaoyi, what’s this?” Meng Chuning eyed the book on the desk. “Five Years Gaokao Three Years Simulation?”
Jiang Xiaoyi gave her the rundown on the variety gig Ruan Feng had lined up. Meng Chuning nodded knowingly. “I saw the proposal a few days back. Thought it was fun, was mulling an investment. But if you’re in, no need to mull—I’m investing for sure.”
Jiang Xiaoyi’s cheeks warmed. “Sis, you can’t just greenlight it ’cause of me. Maybe think it over?”
“No need.” Meng Chuning’s eyes sparkled with anticipation. “Xiaoyi, you know the celebs have to wear City No. 1 Middle School uniforms?”
Jiang Xiaoyi shook her head. “No clue.”
Meng Chuning explained, “The school-friends part films mostly on the City No. 1 campus. Uniforms, classes, exams—the works.”
“Sounds just like going back to school.” Jiang Xiaoyi tilted her head at Meng Chuning. “Sis, why do you look more excited than me?”
“Mm.” Meng Chuning snuggled closer, smiling. “Super excited.”
Jiang Xiaoyi tipped her face up. “What’re you thinking about, Sis?”
How to lure school-uniform Xiaoyi off for a hotel romp. But Meng Chuning kept that to herself, planning to play it sly.
“Nothing.” Meng Chuning pulled away and flipped open the book. “Xiaoyi, how were your high school grades?”
“…” Jiang Xiaoyi went quiet for a beat, brow furrowing. “Sis, can we talk about something else?”
“It’s fine if you don’t want to tell me your score.” Meng Chuning said thoughtfully, “Didn’t Ruan Feng tell you to come back and prepare? Do you want me to tutor you?”
Jiang Xiaoyi’s eyes lit up. “Can you, Sis?”
That book was so thick it gave Jiang Xiaoyi a headache just looking at it. With Meng Chuning tutoring her, it should be easy to pinpoint the key points. That way, she wouldn’t mess up too many questions during the variety show recording and embarrass herself.
“Of course I can.” Meng Chuning tapped the book with her fingers and asked, “So, what are you going to call me?”
Jiang Xiaoyi thought for a moment and said, “Teacher Meng?”
Meng Chuning nodded in satisfaction. She reached out and pinched Jiang Xiaoyi’s cheek. “Good girl.”
“Mmph…” Jiang Xiaoyi grabbed her hand. “Teacher Meng, don’t pinch my face.”
She’d actually called her that. Meng Chuning smiled and withdrew her hand. She selected a few questions from the sea of problems and said, “Xiaoyi, try doing these few. Teacher needs to assess your level before adjusting the teaching method.”
Jiang Xiaoyi gripped her pen and carefully read through the questions once. Not understanding them, she read them again. Why were these questions so hard?
Meng Chuning had picked five questions in total. Jiang Xiaoyi spent ten minutes finishing them. “Sis…”
Realizing her slip, Jiang Xiaoyi looked up and corrected herself. “Teacher Meng, I’m done.”
Calling her Teacher Meng felt so embarrassing—like they were role-playing or something.
“Let me see.” Meng Chuning stood by her side and glanced down at the questions. “Five questions, and you got three wrong.”
Jiang Xiaoyi felt utterly humiliated. “…So, Teacher Meng, what teaching method should you use for a student like me?”
There were only three days left until the variety show recording. She wondered if she could catch up in time. The last thing she wanted was to score dead last on the show.
Meng Chuning leaned against the desk and bent down to pinch Jiang Xiaoyi’s chin. “One kiss per wrong answer seems perfect for you.”
Jiang Xiaoyi leaned back in the swivel chair, her cheeks flushing as she looked at her. “Sis, what kind of teacher does that? Are you tricking me?”
Meng Chuning wasn’t done playing yet, but Jiang Xiaoyi had caught on. Meng Chuning continued, “Xiaoyi, do you still want me to teach you?”
“…Sis, will you teach me seriously?” Jiang Xiaoyi thought about the one-kiss-per-wrong-answer rule. If they went through the whole book like that, her lips would be swollen.
“Of course seriously.” Meng Chuning’s fair finger tapped her own lips. “But first, kiss me three times.”
Meng Chuning’s lips looked so soft and rosy. Jiang Xiaoyi leaned in for a quick peck, but just as she tried to pull away, Meng Chuning pressed closer, sealing off her breath.
“Mmph…” Jiang Xiaoyi tilted her head back in response, parting her lips to welcome Meng Chuning’s soft, red tongue. Her mind went fuzzy from lack of oxygen before Meng Chuning finally released her.
Jiang Xiaoyi panted lightly a few times, her lips tinged pink. “Sis, don’t kiss so hard.”
“Two more to go.” Meng Chuning slid into her lap and captured Jiang Xiaoyi’s lips again. Her hands kneaded her waist. Jiang Xiaoyi’s body trembled, her soft whimpers swallowed back into the kiss. She turned her head slightly and grabbed Meng Chuning’s mischievous hands.
“Sis…” Jiang Xiaoyi’s cheeks burned bright red, a flush spreading down her pale neck. “Don’t rub my waist.”
Meng Chuning clearly wasn’t planning to teach her at all—she was just bullying her on purpose. Fifteen minutes and two kisses later, they hadn’t covered a single question.
“What’s wrong?” Meng Chuning loved seeing Jiang Xiaoyi tremble from the kisses. “Can’t Sis rub you even a little?”
“It’s not that you can’t… It’s just that I make these little noises, and it feels embarrassing to hear.”
Jiang Xiaoyi’s eyes were red at the corners too—one blink and glistening tears clung to her lashes. Her waist was too sensitive; even a light rub drew out whimpers. And being kissed and rubbed at the same time? Her breathy little gasps sounded so indecent even to her own ears.
“I like hearing it. Moan a bit more for me.” Meng Chuning kissed her as she spoke. “I’ve used that moaning recording of yours a few times.”
“Hm?” Jiang Xiaoyi’s breathing quickened as she recalled the moaning task. “You used it, Sis?”
Meng Chuning had said it casually, and Jiang Xiaoyi hadn’t registered it at first. But now she wondered what Meng Chuning had used it for.
“It’s really useful.” A sly smile curved Meng Chuning’s eyes. “Half a minute in, and I—”
“Don’t say it, Sis.” Jiang Xiaoyi flushed and covered Meng Chuning’s lips. She licked her own and added, “Don’t use that anymore.”
Meng Chuning took Jiang Xiaoyi’s hand and whispered, “Are you mad?”
“Not mad.” Jiang Xiaoyi bit her lip. “Sis has me now. Don’t do it yourself.”
Meng Chuning had thought Jiang Xiaoyi was upset about her using it. She hadn’t expected this earnest declaration that she had Jiang Xiaoyi now.
“Got it.” Meng Chuning wrapped her arms around Jiang Xiaoyi’s neck. “But what if Sis wants to use you right now?”
Jiang Xiaoyi’s breathing sped up. She scooped Meng Chuning up and sat her on the desk. “Sis, wait just a sec.”
“Mm…” Meng Chuning had no idea what she was up to. She watched as Jiang Xiaoyi went to the break room, poured a cup of hot water, and came back. Then she locked the office door tight.
Jiang Xiaoyi held the cup and asked, “Sis, want some hot water?”
“Mm.” Meng Chuning took the cup and sipped. It was a bit scalding.
While she drank, Jiang Xiaoyi kept her eyes downcast as she pushed up Meng Chuning’s skirt to her waist. She slid the black lace panties down to her ankles and off.
Jiang Xiaoyi sat back in the swivel chair and looked up at her softly. “Sis, rest your legs on my shoulders.”
As if entranced, Meng Chuning draped her bare, porcelain thighs over Jiang Xiaoyi’s shoulders. They were so close—Jiang Xiaoyi’s warm breath ghosted over her.
Below her waist, everything in Jiang Xiaoyi’s view was pink. She swallowed lightly. “Sis, you’re so pink.”
“Xiaoyi, you…” Meng Chuning’s hand trembled on the cup, her lower belly tightening. She had a feeling she knew what came next.
The next moment, the wet, slick sounds of slurping filled the air. She raised a hand. “Sis, give me the cup.”
Meng Chuning could barely speak. She handed over the cup. “The water’s still hot. Don’t drink it.”
“Sis, hot is what feels good.” Jiang Xiaoyi gulped down the steaming water with a muffled voice, set the cup aside, gripped Meng Chuning’s waist with both hands, and dove in.
“Hm?” Meng Chuning hadn’t anticipated it. The sudden heat made her instinctively try to close her legs.
Jiang Xiaoyi opened her mouth wide, enveloping her with the scorching warmth inside.
“Xiaoyi…” Meng Chuning’s waist was held steady in her grasp. She bit her lip as waves of tingling pleasure spread through her. Now she understood what Jiang Xiaoyi meant by “hot is what feels good.”
Jiang Xiaoyi swallowed and licked her lips. “Relax, Sis.”
