Final Chapter (2)
In the afternoon, Velvet Bamboo Studio held a meeting.
Pei the Little Able Cat sat on the sofa and, one by one, counted the little beasts, and her peach blossom eyes fluttered lightly.
“Bee-Bee is not here.”
Gu Yue scratched her chin. “Mmm, I was just about to tell you all. I saw Bee-Bee arguing with a flower this morning.”
Pei the Little Able Cat tilted her head slightly. “A flower?”
“Do you still remember the seed that the sea otter we met before gave us?”
Gu Yue said, “Last time the panther was drunk, she gnawed on Bee-Bee’s flowerbed. Later, only that one seed was newly planted in the flowerbed.”
“Two days ago, it finally bloomed.”
That day, Bee-Bee had woken up one night and had found that her precious flower, which had been in bud for a long time in her flowerbed, had finally bloomed.
In the early morning, the light pink flower was soaked in a thin dew, shimmering with a watery light, beautiful and alluring.
A gentle breeze blew by, and the delicate petals trembled and swayed, magnificent and unparalleled.
For a moment, Bee-Bee was mesmerized.
She, a bee, had seen countless flowers and had also filled her flowerbed with flowers before.
But at this very moment, she had suddenly realized that she had been diligently exploring and planting flowers everywhere, all just to finally find this one flower.
Bee-Bee carefully circled the flower for a moment, and then gently landed on a petal.
The fragrance was subtle and rich, and it was intoxicating.
Bee-Bee had been fed honey water and other food by the little beasts since she was little. She would usually only occasionally eat pollen and was naturally resistant to eating nectar.
But at this very moment, she was so captivated by this flower that she unconsciously began to collect nectar.
The nectar was sweet and intoxicating to the bee.
And the flower trembled lightly, and its beautiful and delicate petals closed slightly, as if it were silently and gently enveloping Bee-Bee’s fluffy body.
In the end, Bee-Bee had eaten until she was dizzy and had fallen into a limp sleep on the flower.
“I passed by a few times over the weekend and saw Bee-Bee rolling around and sleeping on that flower,” Gu Yue said.
All the humans and beasts present were curious. “Then why did they argue today?”
Gu Yue said, “It wasn’t really a verbal argument.”
This morning, Bee-Bee had woken up on her precious flower.
Ever since she had had this flower, she had not been to the flower patch again.
Her stomach was empty, and she had, with practiced ease, collected nectar to eat, and she had eaten until the flower’s body was trembling lightly.
But Bee-Bee had thought it was just a gentle breeze.
After she was done, she had lain on a petal and had patted her half-full stomach.
She had suddenly felt a little heartache.
Her precious flower was being collected for nectar every day. Would it not be able to take it?
After a moment’s thought, Bee-Bee had resolutely stood up and had flown to a patch of wildflowers on the roadside, and had made do with some pollen to fill her stomach.
Then she had hurriedly flown back to her flowerbed.
She had dragged her round and fluffy belly and, with a body full of the fragrance of flowers, had gently landed on her precious flower.
Just as she had landed, she had felt the petal suddenly tremble and had been shaken off.
Falling onto the soft grass, Bee-Bee was at a loss.
Was there a strong wind just now?
Bee-Bee had buzzed her wings and had wanted to return to her precious flower again.
But she had seen that the flower was visibly and quickly closing its petals, and the whole flower had closed up.
It had closed into a sullen flower bud.
“!”
Bee-Bee was stunned and was frozen in mid-air.
“When I passed by, Bee-Bee was nuzzling against that flower bud and was pitifully crying and saying, ‘Please bloom and let me in,’ but the flower bud was ignoring her,” Gu Yue said.
“…”
The second floor of the small building fell into a silence.
After a moment, Nian Qiu said what was on everyone’s mind:
“In this world, plants can also become sentient…”
After a moment of silence, Pei the Little Able Cat spoke, and her words were very much like a big sister beast.
“If we can become sentient, plants can too. Perhaps all things in the world should not be completely restrained in their forms.”
The woman’s peach blossom eyes were lazy, and as her red lips opened and closed, a certain charm was exuded.
Ye Qingyu was engrossed at the sight.
Although this little red panda’s next sentence was:
“But I still hope that apples and mangosteens won’t become sentient for the time being.”
Licking the tip of her teeth, Pei the Little Able Cat continued to add, “And grapes, honeydew melons, watermelons…”
Otherwise, it would make a red panda feel troubled.
After speaking, she subconsciously looked at Ye Qingyu.
She saw the human’s lips curl slightly, and her pair of clear and gentle eyes were completely filled with her, a red panda, as if everything she said was correct and cute.
And so, the little red panda proudly lifted her head a little.
Since Bee-Bee was temporarily trapped in a conflict with the flower, everyone did not specifically call Bee-Bee over and simply started the meeting.
Pei the Little Able Cat said, “The second issue of the ‘Small Animal Survival Guide’ has been released for some time. It’s time to prepare for the third issue…”
…
4:30 PM.
“Green Bird” had been dealt with cleanly, and this matter had been completely closed.
Ye Zhao and Xiao Yu, who had been busy with it for a long time, finally had a moment of leisure.
The Ye family’s villa master bedroom.
The bed was a dim and messy sight, and Xiao Yu gently turned over and sat up.
Ye Zhao, her breathing not yet stopped, poked a pink-flushed hand out from under the covers and held the corner of her clothes.
“What are you doing?”
“The children are coming back soon. I’m going to cook.”
Xiao Yu turned around and held that hand with one of her own.
Her other hand reached out and gently pushed aside Ye Zhao’s slightly damp, dark hair, and she saw the woman’s spring-filled face, which was hazy and charming in the dim light.
She reined in her breath, trying to suppress her chaotic heartbeat.
“Jiejie can rest for a while and then come for dinner.”
Seeing this person’s spirited appearance, Ye Zhao’s misty lashes fluttered slightly.
After a hard afternoon of work, Xiao Yu could still be so enthusiastic about making a big meal. And she, who had clearly just been on the receiving end, was already so tired she didn’t want to move.
An eight-year age difference, and their physical strength was simply worlds apart.
Ye Zhao spoke lazily, and with a half-smile, she said:
“You’re so full of energy. It seems you need to be walked on a regular basis.”
Xiao Yu chuckled lightly. “Mhm, Jiejie can walk me more.”
After speaking, she got out of bed and generously showed off her graceful and beautiful body.
Sensing the woman’s gaze on her, she unhurriedly picked up her clothes and put them on, and said:
“You know, a little dog will tear down the house if it’s not walked.”
“But I’m very well-behaved. I won’t tear down the house.”
Ye Zhao moved her sore and weak legs and said faintly, “So you tear people down. You’re really so well-behaved.”
Xiao Yu showed her a stunning smile. “Thank you.”
…
When Ye Qingyu and Pei the Little Able Cat got home, Little Mom was busy in the kitchen, and Mom was cutting apples for the red panda.
The human and the little red panda washed their hands and helped their mothers set the table.
The family of four sat down and had a happy and harmonious dinner.
After taking a shower at night, Ye Zhao took out a thick photo album from the depths of her cabinet and placed it on the large bed.
“These are pictures of Yu Bao and Rong Bao from when they were little until now.”
Ever since Rong Bao had left, she had not dared to open this photo album, because she could not bear it.
But now, with a heart full of stable happiness, the photo album had become a pure and warm memento.
She gently opened it.
The first picture was of a young Ye Zhao holding a little red panda cub that was covered in wounds and had been bitten bald.
“This was taken on the day I got my red panda breeding license.”
She smiled.
Ye Qingyu’s eyes widened at the sight. “Such a small Neng Bao.”
Pei the Little Able Cat was nestled in Ye the Little Tree’s lap in her beast form and also licked the tip of her teeth with a certain novelty.
Flipping through the pictures, the little red panda cub’s injuries healed day by day, and she gradually grew soft and dense grayish-yellow fur.
Her four paws were short, and a fluffy tail was attached behind her, like a whole caterpillar.
In every picture, she was very clingy and was nestled in her mother’s arms.
And Ye Zhao’s features were gentle, and she held the red panda and smiled at the camera.
In the next few pictures, Ye Zhao’s belly began to gradually swell.
“It’s Yu Bao.”
Pei the Little Able Cat raised a paw and, through the photo, touched Ye Zhao’s belly.
And the next photo was like this—the little red panda cub had raised its paws and was carefully nuzzling her mother’s belly.
And then, Ye Qingyu was born.
The soft and cute human cub had a pair of large, dark eyes and was gnawing on her hand at the camera.
The little red panda cub was on the side, licking its paws at the camera.
And then, the little red panda cub finally began to color up and slowly grew reddish-brown fur.
And the human cub also grew dark black hair, and would cling to the red panda and follow her fluffy tail, and the human and the red panda would crawl happily on the ground in the same posture.
