Chapter 91 p1
Xu Jinnan, still slightly intoxicated, nuzzled against Shen Shu, her light brown curls tickling Shen Shu’s neck.
Her hand, restless, wandered along Shen Shu’s leg, the cool skin a stark contrast to the warmth of Xu Jinnan’s touch, making Shen Shu shiver.
Startled, she tried to pull away, but Xu Jinnan, her reflexes surprisingly quick, caught her wrist.
“Don’t move,” she murmured, her voice slurred. “Cuddle.”
“…” Shen Shu’s face burned, but she couldn’t bring herself to push Xu Jinnan away.
Viola, in the front seat, quickly raised the privacy divider, shielding them from view.
Shen Shu glanced at the divider, then gently pushed Xu Jinnan aside. “Xu Jinnan, you’re really…” she began, her words muffled by Xu Jinnan’s lips, the scent of alcohol and the warm, sunny fragrance of her pheromones mingling with Shen Shu’s breath.
On the other side of the divider, despite the soundproofing, any contact with the partition would be audible.
A slight tremor ran through the divider, and Tong Jia, hearing the muffled sounds, chuckled. “They’re really going at it, aren’t they? No shame.”
“Should I put on some music?” Viola asked, coughing slightly.
“No, no,” Tong Jia replied. This was a rare opportunity; it would be a shame to miss it.
I should record this, she thought.
She was trying to curb her own tendency towards suggestive comments, and Viola, with her serious demeanor, clearly wasn’t interested in such things. “Whatever you want is fine,” she said with a smile.
Viola, driving slowly, glanced at Tong Jia, whose head was turned towards the back seat, her interest in the ongoing… activities evident. She smiled faintly and chose a song.
Help, I lost myself again…
…It’s the only thing that makes me talk, and opens up my eyes…
I won’t, I miss the nights…
The English song, with its soothing melody, had a calming effect.
“I love this song, ‘Lost Myself’,” Tong Jia commented.
“What a coincidence. Me too,” Viola replied, smiling, then turned up the volume slightly.
Tong Jia leaned back in her seat, seemingly oblivious to the two women behind her, and hummed along to the music, the lyrics, We both know this feeling is fleeting, her favorite part of the song.
Her short, silver-gray hair, tucked behind her ears, shimmered in the dim light of the car. Viola, glancing at her, then looked back at the road, a soft smile playing on her lips. Tong Jia’s profile was elegant, her nose straight and her features refined.
The song’s opening and closing lines were the same:
Help, I lost myself again…
But I still remember you.
—
“I’m your wife! Don’t you recognize me?” Xu Jinnan whined, her head resting against the privacy divider, her hair disheveled, her expression a mixture of confusion and mock-hurt. She had slid down from the seat, her hand resting on the back of her head.
“Xu Jinnan, are you drunk? Sit up,” Shen Shu said.
“You pushed me.”
Shen Shu: “…”
She reached out to pull Xu Jinnan up. “Who told you to be so… handsy?”
They were in a car, after all, and Xu Jinnan’s earlier attempts to… escalate things had made Shen Shu’s ears burn.
“You pushed me,” Xu Jinnan repeated petulantly, then, as Shen Shu pulled her up, she leaned against Shen Shu’s lap, pouting. “You won’t kiss me, you won’t let me…” Shen Shu quickly covered her mouth before she could finish the sentence.
Even with the privacy divider and the soundproofing, there were still other people in the car. How much had she drunk to be acting like this?
“You fell down yourself. Why are you blaming me?” Shen Shu asked, amused by Xu Jinnan’s drunken antics, a playful smile touching her lips. She had never seen this side of Xu Jinnan before.
A strange, exhilarating feeling bubbled up inside her.
Xu Jinnan’s hand reached up, trying to remove Shen Shu’s hand from her mouth, then, like a child discovering a new game, she grabbed Shen Shu’s finger and put it in her mouth.
Shen Shu’s heart skipped a beat.
She froze for a moment, knowing she shouldn’t indulge her, but she couldn’t bring herself to pull her hand away.
I must be drunk too, she thought.
After finally managing to get Xu Jinnan to sit up straight, Xu Jinnan swayed slightly, then collapsed against Shen Shu’s lap again.
Shen Shu, expecting another round of drunken antics, waited, but Xu Jinnan’s breathing evened out, her movements ceasing.
She gently brushed a stray strand of hair from Xu Jinnan’s face, her delicate features softened by the dim light of the car, the soft music creating a strangely intimate atmosphere.
Xu Jinnan’s skin, flushed from the alcohol, was a delicate shade of pink, and Shen Shu’s fingertip gently traced the curve of her cheek, the warmth of her skin making Shen Shu’s own fingertips tingle.
“You’re such a… lightweight,” she murmured.
Xu Jinnan, as if hearing her words, nuzzled against Shen Shu’s stomach, murmuring, “Kiss.”
Shen Shu’s breath hitched as she caressed Xu Jinnan’s face, her voice husky. “Behave yourself. We can… kiss when we get home.”
—
They arrived at Xingcheng International.
Viola helped Shen Shu carry Xu Jinnan upstairs, and as Shen Shu was about to go to the kitchen to boil some water, Xu Jinnan grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer.
Tong Jia, seeing this, said, “I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone then. Shu Shu, I’ll be back at 4 p.m. to pick you up,” then, without waiting for a reply, left with Viola.
As they reached the elevator, Tong Jia, remembering Xu Jinnan’s drunken antics, chuckled.
“What’s so funny?” Viola asked.
“I can’t wait to see CEO Xu’s reaction when she wakes up tomorrow morning. It’ll be epic. I’ll miss it, though. You’ll have to tell me all about it,” Tong Jia said.
Viola smiled faintly.
“Viola, can you handle it?” Tong Jia asked, her voice teasing.
Viola glanced at her, then nodded. “I can.”
—
Inside the apartment, Shen Shu gently disentangled herself from Xu Jinnan’s embrace.
Why does she always grab me when she’s drunk? she wondered, then went to the kitchen to get some water, wiping Xu Jinnan’s face, neck, and hands with a damp towel.
As she returned to the bedroom with a fresh towel, she saw Xu Jinnan frowning, her hand fumbling with the button of her jeans.
“What are you doing?” she asked, but Xu Jinnan didn’t seem to hear her.
Shen Shu watched her for a moment, then understood.
She put down the towel and guided Xu Jinnan’s hand to the button.
Then, she let go, letting Xu Jinnan do it herself.
In her current state, Xu Jinnan was clearly incapable of even this simple task.
Shen Shu sighed and sat down on the bed, looking at Xu Jinnan’s face, her brow furrowed in her sleep. “I’ll help you, but don’t move,” she murmured, her voice soft.
Xu Jinnan, as if sensing her words, stilled slightly.
Shen Shu straightened her body, her gaze fixed on Xu Jinnan’s…
A soft ripping sound echoed through the room as the zipper came undone.
—
After settling Xu Jinnan in bed, Shen Shu took a quick shower.
As she emerged from the bathroom, she heard a buzzing sound from the living room and realized it was Xu Jinnan’s phone vibrating in her bag.
She opened the bag, noticing the green box of AOH suppressants, but didn’t think much of it, carrying the bag into the bedroom.
The phone’s screen lit up with a WeChat notification. She knew Xu Jinnan’s password, but she didn’t check the message.
If it was urgent, they would call.
She placed the phone on Xu Jinnan’s bedside table, and just as she did, the bag slipped from her hand and fell to the floor with a thud.
The sound seemed to wake Xu Jinnan, who stirred and turned over, facing Shen Shu.
Shen Shu bent down to pick up the scattered contents of the bag – wet wipes, car keys, and a small box she didn’t recognize. She picked up the green box of AOH suppressants, about to put it back in the bag, when she heard Xu Jinnan’s voice.
“You don’t need that,” she mumbled, her eyes half-open, staring at the syringe in Shen Shu’s hand.
Shen Shu thought she was awake, but a closer look revealed she was still drunk.
“Why not?” she asked.
Xu Jinnan, her body twisting restlessly, suddenly seemed upset, burying her face in the pillow.
Shen Shu looked down at the syringe in her hand, then at Xu Jinnan.
She put the suppressant back in the bag, turned off the light, and slipped into bed beside Xu Jinnan, her arm gently circling her waist.
“Xu Jinnan, are you hiding something from me?” she whispered.
Xu Jinnan’s face was still buried in the pillow, her body tense, her demeanor troubled.
Shen Shu gently lifted her chin, turning her face towards her. “Tell Jiejie,” she murmured, her voice soft and coaxing, a tone she hadn’t even realized she was using.
Her own face flushed as she repeated the words silently.
As if sensing her warmth, Xu Jinnan snuggled closer, her face nuzzling against Shen Shu’s neck.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled.
Shen Shu paused, her hand gently stroking Xu Jinnan’s back. “What are you sorry for?” she asked, her voice like a patient teacher’s.
Xu Jinnan mumbled something incoherent, her words slurred and disjointed, her breath warm against Shen Shu’s neck.
A cool breeze drifted in through the slightly open window, dispelling the heat that had been building between them.
Shen Shu, staring at the ceiling, gently pushed Xu Jinnan’s head away.
“Is ‘sorry’ enough?” she asked softly.
After a long silence, Xu Jinnan mumbled, “Hit me. Hit me.”
It was difficult to tell if she had even heard Shen Shu’s question.
As she spoke, her hand reached out, groping blindly for Shen Shu’s, and Shen Shu, her skin tingling, took Xu Jinnan’s hand in hers. “I’m not going to hit you. Make it up to me,” she whispered, then added something else, but Xu Jinnan didn’t seem to hear her.
Shen Shu, her hand still clasped in Xu Jinnan’s, her gaze fixed on the ceiling, said softly, “Don’t think you can get away with this.” Then, she turned over, pulling Xu Jinnan closer, her arms wrapping around her.
—
Xu Jinnan woke up with a throbbing headache, the sunlight streaming through the window.
She turned over, her eyes still heavy with sleep, her mind replaying the strange, erotic dream that had left her heart racing.
She had dreamed of Shen Shu asking her, Do you want this, Nannan?
And she had replied, Yes.
Then…
She blinked, the memory making her suddenly wide awake.
In the dream, she had surrendered to Shen Shu’s touch, but each time she was about to reach her peak, the dream would end, her body heavy and unresponsive, her movements sluggish, her desire frustrated.
And then…
She couldn’t remember the rest, her head throbbing.
Drunk people rarely remembered their dreams.
Perhaps she had simply been missing Shen Shu? The dream had felt so real.
As she reached for her phone, she paused, a strange feeling, a sense of… wrongness, settling over her.
She looked down at herself, then threw back the covers.
Xu Jinnan: “…”
Her mind, reeling from the sight of her naked body, slowly pieced together the events of last night, her gaze falling on her discarded shirt and jeans, the jeans inside out, carelessly tossed onto a nearby chair.
Xu Jinnan: “…”
She was starting to remember.
She swallowed, her throat dry, a lump forming, making it difficult to breathe.
She felt a wave of dizziness, a strange disorientation.
She rubbed her head, then, still barefoot, jumped out of bed and searched the apartment, but Shen Shu was gone.
She grabbed her phone and called Shen Shu, who answered almost immediately, the background quiet.
“Shu Shu.”
“You’re awake?”
“…Did you… come back last night?” she asked, the question redundant.
Shen Shu paused. “What do you think?”
Xu Jinnan: “…”
Her tone sounded almost… deliberate, as if she had intentionally left Xu Jinnan in such a state, wanting her to wake up and see… And Xu Jinnan had vague memories of last night, of Shen Shu stopping her, refusing to let her… It had been frustrating, almost painful.
“I did it on purpose,” Shen Shu admitted.
“Why?”
“I should be asking you that. What did you do that made you apologize so profusely?”
Xu Jinnan froze. She had said a lot of things last night, but she couldn’t remember any of them.
It was a terrifying feeling.
“What did I say?” she asked, trying to sound calm.
“You apologized, and when I asked what you were apologizing for, you said…” Shen Shu paused, enjoying Xu Jinnan’s obvious discomfort. “Guess.”
“…”
Shen Shu’s voice was calm, almost gentle. “Guess what you said that made me… do that to you.”
The more she said, the more uneasy Xu Jinnan felt.
What did I say last night?
She sighed inwardly, knowing she wouldn’t get an answer.
“Xu Jinnan.”
“Yes?”
“Does it hurt?”
“…No,” Xu Jinnan replied.
But the dream had been a torment.
And now, she knew it hadn’t been just a dream.
And she also knew that she hadn’t… finished, hadn’t reached her peak, unlike Shen Shu.
She thought Alphas and Omegas were the same in that regard, the only difference being the act of marking, the Alpha the dominant one, the Omega the receptive one.
But besides that inherent difference, Xu Jinnan, with her dominant personality, preferred to be in control, the one taking the lead.
But with Shen Shu, if it made her happy, she didn’t mind being the… receptive one.
“Then think about what you said to me last night,” Shen Shu said.
Someone called Shen Shu’s name, and she hung up.
Xu Jinnan sat on the bed for a moment, then got up, gathered her dirty clothes, tossed them into the washing machine, and went to the bathroom to wash her face, the cool water a welcome relief against her burning skin.
What did I say?
She couldn’t remember.
She sent Shen Shu a message: [Can you give me a hint?]
A few minutes later: [No.]
Xu Jinnan sighed. There was nothing she could do.
After a simple breakfast of toast and milk, she got ready for work. Since she had been drinking last night, Viola was driving her today.
She tried to remember what had happened last night as they drove.
“My wife picked me up last night?”
“Yes, Miss Tong messaged me for your address,” Viola replied.
Xu Jinnan remembered Shen Shu getting into the car, then… nothing.
She rubbed her head, giving up on trying to remember.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a WeChat notification.
Tong Jia: [CEO Xu, are you still alive?]
Xu Jinnan: [?]
Tong Jia: [Just checking.]
Xu Jinnan: “…”
Thanks for your concern.
She was about to close the chat when she saw a screenshot Tong Jia had sent, a Weibo comment.
I want to suffocate in Jiejie’s… embrace!
Tong Jia: [CEO Xu, look at this comment! So steamy! So hot! That Omega-Omega energy is beyond even me! Beyond me! Skrrrt~]
Xu Jinnan: “…?”
Cai Ying: [@Tong Jia Hahaha, Jia Jia, what are you doing? Rapping?]
Tong Jia: [@Cai Ying Yes.]
Tong Jia: [@Xu Jinnan CEO Xu, do you still have those fairy lights up? Keep them. You might need them later, for… inspiration.]
Cai Ying: [What do you mean?]
Tong Jia: [For… recreating the scene.]
Cai Ying: [Huh?]
Xu Jinnan frowned, staring at the messages, then, looking back at the screenshot of the Weibo comment, she suddenly remembered a specific moment from last night, her face buried in Shen Shu’s… embrace.
Xu Jinnan: “…”
She glanced at Viola, who was driving, and rubbed her temples, a throbbing headache spreading through her skull.
The group chat fell silent; they were probably messaging each other privately now, and she didn’t even have to guess what they were talking about.
A few minutes later, Cai Ying tagged her in the group chat.
Cai Ying: [@Xu Jinnan Laughing hysterically]
Xu Jinnan: “…………”
Seriously?
Xu Jinnan: [@Tong Jia @Cai Ying Find yourselves wives before you laugh at me.]
As expected, they both reacted immediately, especially Cai Ying.
[Shut up! What’s so great about having a wife? Your wife is my best friend! I’ll go to your apartment every day and monopolize her!]
Xu Jinnan: [Only those without wives are so desperate.]
Cai Ying: [? Just you wait! You’ll pay for this! I’m so angry!]
Tong Jia: [CEO Xu, that’s a low blow! Be reasonable!]
Cai Ying: [Reasonable? I’m going to steal your wife tomorrow!!!]
Xu Jinnan chuckled, ignoring them.
