121. Big Cutie and Little Turnip
Retreating from the ravaged main road of the city, they finally reached the outside of a circular high wall, and the sounds of the beasts’ impacts gradually subsided.
Cythia put down the little princess in her arms, letting her walk a few steps on her own.
Ruo Xiaoxi’s beauty was exceptionally striking. Perhaps she was just leveraging her prettiness, cuteness, and thoughtfulness to act like a little princess, but at least Cythia had never seen a fairy-tale girl with snow-white hair like hers.
Her clothes were also very pretty: a white top that subtly accentuated her figure, paired with a pleated skirt reaching mid-thigh, and she was wearing knee-high white stockings. Her round-toed white shoes were also clean and neat.
So, the question was, why would such a girl exist in the ruined city?
As far as Cythia knew, this place called the Land of Silence had been cut off from the outside world for an unknown period. This place had only one city, and the rest of the surroundings were all endless ocean.
Like a mysterious small island drifting in the distant sea, undiscovered.
No one had lived in the ruined city for a long time. It seemed many people had already been taken away and left this place. This city was completely the territory of Beyond Beasts. How could such a clean and beautiful girl appear?
She was also carrying a black camera.
Cythia could vaguely sense magical power, but in reality, it was as weak as she appeared.
Cythia didn’t know where Ruo Xiaoxi came from, and Ruo Xiaoxi didn’t know where she had been teleported to. Strangers to each other, the two girls, one tall and one short, walked together on the desolate street.
“It’s getting late. The moon is about to rise,” Cythia suddenly muttered, looking up.
All in all, she decided to take this white-haired little loli home and ask her more clearly…
Cythia led Ruo Xiaoxi to a small house with a vegetable garden, far from the city. This area consisted of low houses. If the city was the downtown, this was probably the suburbs.
The house was built by Cythia herself using wood and reinforced with other salvaged materials.
“Welcome home, Cythia! Did you find anything in the ruined city today?”
As soon as they reached the fence in front of the small house, a little loli suddenly rushed out of the room, her face beaming with joy, happily greeting Cythia.
Ruo Xiaoxi was startled. She found this little loli quite unique because she had a cute little flower blooming on top of her head.
“Not much of a gain. I just found some usable things to bring back, and… I found a white-haired girl. Her name is Ruo Xiaoxi.”
“Oh, I see. Cythia used to bring back food or supplies. This time, she brought a woman back. How delightful… What!?” The girl with the little flower on her head stared at Ruo Xiaoxi, dumbfounded.
“Eh!? Uh… hello?”
As Ruo Xiaoxi was subjected to the extremely sharp gaze, she immediately felt uncomfortable. To be honest, it should be me staring at this girl with a little flower on her head with such a look!
Cythia had already entered the room, seemingly not very interested in Ruo Xiaoxi.
But the girl in front of her was very curious, circling Ruo Xiaoxi endlessly, scrutinizing her from head to toe. Ruo Xiaoxi, being a newcomer, could only stand rigidly in place.
What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen a beautiful woman before? Stare at me any longer and I’ll turn you into my little blood bag!
Just as Ruo Xiaoxi thought this little girl didn’t welcome her, the girl with the small flower on her head suddenly complimented her: “Wow, little cutie, where did you come from?”
“What little cutie? You look shorter than me, don’t you? If you’re going to call me anything, you should call me Big Cutie.”
“Okay, Big Cutie! Where did you come from, Big Cutie? There’s no one in the ruined city. It’s all Beyond Beasts in there. How did you get here?”
Hearing the girl actually call her Big Cutie, Ruo Xiaoxi couldn’t help but cross her hands, clenching her fists, and puff out her chest proudly.
However, when asked how she arrived, Ruo Xiaoxi found herself at a loss for words.
Regarding the matter of finding a strange stone, then giving that stone to a large-chested succubus to create a teleportation array, and then being teleported to this apocalyptic place.
After listening to Ruo Xiaoxi’s brief summary, the girl didn’t quite understand, but she found it very impressive.
A girl who had accidentally teleported from somewhere else to the Land of Silence. Such a thing had seemingly never happened before. She had always thought this place was sealed, where no one could enter or exit.
“Then what’s your name? And why do you have a flower blooming on your head? Is it glued on?”
“Me? I don’t have a name. As for my origin, I’m not too sure myself…” The girl said, looking a little troubled, then glanced at Cythia in the room.
Cythia was unbuckling her leather belt, placing some items salvaged from the ruined city onto the table.
“Don’t ask me,” Cythia said expressionlessly. “One day, when I went to the vegetable garden to harvest vegetables, I intended to pull out a radish for cooking, but I pulled her out of the ground instead, and she’s been following me ever since.”
“Mmm-hmm!” The girl nodded in agreement. She also remembered being pulled out of the ground.
“??? Radish spirit.” Ruo Xiaoxi was baffled. There’s such a thing? Then I have to talk about the little cat my family used to keep. You transform too!
But why would a girl be pulled out of the ground? Her first thought was that it sounded like a monster. But since there were yaks as big as elephants, a radish spirit might… be acceptable.
“Then I’ll call you Little Radish from now on.”
“Okay! I don’t have a name anyway. Big Cutie, let’s go inside and chat. It can be a bit dangerous outside at night.” Little Radish took Ruo Xiaoxi’s hand and walked into the house.
Lolis are naturally attracted to each other. The two enthusiastic and outgoing lolis quickly befriended each other.
Cythia held a cup of hot water, leaning against the table and drinking. She watched the lolis enter one after another. One had a small flower bobbing on her head, the other a cowlick. She couldn’t help but touch her own head in doubt.
Although the cottage wasn’t large, it was very compact.
Cythia was a demon slayer – at least, she considered herself one, because she could defeat the Beyond Beasts. So she used some of her power to reinforce the wooden house.
The sky outside darkened quickly, becoming completely black and cold. After closing the wooden door, the fireplace fire gradually started, and a small oil lamp illuminated the table.
There was only one bed in the house, and a pile of quilts in the corner. A long table was placed in front of the fireplace, with several chairs surrounding it, brightly lit by the firelight.
Although it felt a bit scary outside, the warm cottage was full of security.
Cythia prepared some hot food for herself, and also shared a bit with Ruo Xiaoxi and Little Radish. It didn’t look particularly delicious, but it was enough to fill their stomachs.
Little Radish habitually picked up a spoon. It seemed their lives were always like this.
“Big Cutie, what are you doing here?”
“Are you here to play? But there’s nothing fun here, you know.”
