123. Thankful for Nature’s Bounty
Looking at the two skirts hanging on the clothes rack, Ruo Xiaoxi and Little Radish exchanged glances.
They had accidentally pulled down the big sister’s pants, and now their skirts had also been confiscated as punishment for their mischief. In short, they wouldn’t be wearing them tonight.
Both lolis were now only wearing panties on their lower halves, still blaming each other with their eyes.
Oh, Ruo Xiaoxi also had an extra pair of white stockings for warmth compared to Little Radish.
She didn’t know the exact time in this place, but Ruo Xiaoxi glanced out the window, estimating it was probably around eight or nine in the evening in her own city.
“Hey, Big Cutie, where are you going? You can’t go out at night.”
Seeing Ruo Xiaoxi standing up from the chair, Little Radish quickly reached out and grabbed her.
“Will there be those beasts?”
“Yes! Since you came from the ruined city, you must have seen those Beyond Beasts. Their bodies are mutated, much larger than ordinary animals. And they like to gather and move around at night. You absolutely cannot go out at night!”
Cythia was looking at the map spread on the table. Seeing Ruo Xiaoxi about to go out, she almost stood up.
In this Land of Silence, night not only represented darkness but also danger. Even in this suburb, far from the ruined city, it was possible to encounter Beyond Beasts active at night.
Ruo Xiaoxi hugged the camera in her arms. She actually wanted to go out and see.
Hearing Little Radish say that, she had no choice but to come back.
Ruo Xiaoxi knew she had no self-preservation ability, so she absolutely wouldn’t take risks, lest she implicate Little Radish and Cythia. She retreated faster than anyone.
“Do you want to look outside?”
“Yes, but if it’s dangerous at night, I won’t go out.”
“Then we can go to the balcony of this cottage’s attic. You don’t have to go outside, and you can still see what it looks like. I’ll go with you. Cythia, is that okay?” Little Radish turned her head to ask the big sister for permission.
Cythia lightly tapped the map on the table with her pen and said to them, “Go ahead, just don’t make too much noise. Tomorrow, we still need to go to the ruined city, to a few abandoned supermarkets to find some supplies.”
“Okay, that’s right. We’re almost out of food. We need to go out and scavenge properly.”
Little Radish nodded, took Ruo Xiaoxi’s hand, and started walking towards the attic. The cottage had two floors, connected by a winding wooden ladder.
Oh? The ladder was so close to the clothes rack! Good opportunity!
Ruo Xiaoxi was about to reach out and grab her skirt to put it back on, but another hand reached for her pleated skirt first. “No wearing.”
“Waaah, okay.” Ruo Xiaoxi retracted her hand. Her little schemes were all seen through by Cythia.
Her little schemes were all seen through by Cythia.
But at the same time, she whimpered softly, “Senior Cythia is a pervert! She likes to watch little girls in just panties wiggle their butts in front of her.”
“Ah!? I didn’t think that way…” Cythia was inexplicably flustered by Ruo Xiaoxi’s remark, her cheeks flushing slightly. She suddenly felt she should perhaps return the skirt to her.
“Hee hee~” Ruo Xiaoxi’s aggrieved expression vanished the moment she ran upstairs, replaced by a sly, mischievous grin.
These two girls were the ones who caused trouble first, so why am I the one feeling guilty now…? Besides, I wasn’t even paying attention before, but now my gaze is drawn to Ruo Xiaoxi’s perky, round little butt?!
Cythia watched Ruo Xiaoxi run upstairs, feeling an inexplicable flush.
As a result, she still followed Little Radish to the attic, wearing only panties, feeling somewhat ashamed.
Though, it wasn’t like anyone else was around anyway…
Ruo Xiaoxi arrived in the attic. It contained some boxes filled with various items, as well as some iron weapons, such as long swords or chains.
Stepping onto the balcony, Ruo Xiaoxi looked out into the distance. It was pitch black, devoid of any light.
But with her vampire night vision, she could see a landscape of low-lying houses, appearing long uninhabited, their walls severely eroded by the wind, covered in dense cracks.
According to Little Radish, this was the Land of Silence, and indeed, it was utterly quiet.
“There’s nothing interesting to see, right?” Little Radish rested her elbows on the railing, cradling her head in her hands.
“This place is desolate. No one has lived here for a very, very long time. Where everyone else went, whether they passed away or evacuated, I don’t know. This is all Beyond Beasts’ territory.”
“Little Radish doesn’t know either? Speaking of which… I came in from some kind of sealing stone.”
“Sealing stone? Hmm, I haven’t heard of such a thing. But in my guess, this place is indeed sealed by some barrier, like a cage.”
Ruo Xiaoxi hugged the camera to her chest, unable to photograph anything in the pitch black.
She glanced at the camera’s battery life; it seemed to be full, but she capped the lens anyway.
Ruo Xiaoxi walked over to Little Radish, joining her at the railing, resting her face in her hands and feeling the breeze. “Luckily, you two are here. Otherwise, if I were alone, I’d definitely be doomed.”
“Hahaha, I can’t believe Cythia just happened to find you! So, where exactly are you from?”
“A place called Tiantan City.”
“Is the night there as dark as it is here?”
“No. The nights there are brilliantly lit. Many tall buildings have dazzling large screens, and the river reflects colorful lights. Commercial centers are always bustling with people, a scene of prosperity.”
“Is that so? It sounds like a very nice place.” Little Radish imagined it in her mind.
“How did you two get here? And how do we leave?” Ruo Xiaoxi asked curiously. It was clear that Cythia and Little Radish had arrived here earlier than her.
Facing Ruo Xiaoxi’s question, Little Radish blinked, then smiled.
“Cythia and I have always lived here. I was pulled out of the ground by Cythia in the vegetable garden behind this cottage. Before that, I just felt like I was always sleeping.”
“You’ve always lived here? What happened to this place? Why did it turn into that… barrier?”
“I don’t know. I seem to have a faint memory from before I woke up. There was a war here before. Beyond Beasts invaded people’s homes, and people fought them. Later, a method was used to separate this city, and gradually, no one lived here anymore.”
“Have you never thought about leaving here?” This was Ruo Xiaoxi’s most pressing question. She already knew she hadn’t been teleported to another world, but had been pulled into this barrier.
She also needed to know what had happened here before and how to leave.
But Little Radish was utterly indifferent to this question. She shook her head and said, “We’re used to it. And I mostly follow Cythia. She found me, so wherever she goes, I go.”
“So, whether to leave, and how to leave, still depends on Cythia’s will.”
“But Cythia has amnesia. She can’t remember many things. She doesn’t even know who she is. At first, she even had aphasia and couldn’t speak. I was the one who taught her. Hmph hmph~”
At this, Little Radish proudly puffed out her chest and put her hands on her hips. “Aren’t I amazing!”
“Amazing… standing on the balcony with your panties showing and bare legs, hands on your hips, is very amazing!” Ruo Xiaoxi gave her a serious thumbs-up.
“Ugh…” Little Radish’s eyelashes fluttered. Her posture stiffened, and her cheeks gradually grew redder.
“Ah! Big Cutie, you’re so lewd! You’re also…”
“My shirt hem is longer, so I can… Wah! It’s being blown up by the wind!” Ruo Xiaoxi shyly squeezed her exposed, supple, and well-proportioned white legs together, quickly pressing down on her hem.
“So beautiful! Thank you for nature’s bounty.” Little Radish feasted her eyes, clasping her hands over her chest and saying devoutly.
