Chapter 19: You’re Not Leaving
It wasn’t just a children’s nursery rhyme; it was the ballad of the bards.
And so, Eirya, completely disregarding her status, wrapped her arms around Yier Meng from behind.
This front-and-back pincer movement, with two things of considerable weight pressing against her, made Yier Meng feel a profound, sinful pleasure amidst her suffering.
Judging by her figure, Eirya’s peaks were in no way inferior to Elise’s.
An enraged dragon is one that has lost its reason.
Perhaps Yier Meng hadn’t quite understood it before—the trait of dragons becoming more easily angered after taking human form. In her experience, dragons were more rational than emotional. Before the war with the Holy Light Kingdom, she had attempted to form an alliance with the dragons, who were not on good terms with humans, but they had refused her.
Although humans are greedy, some of their descendants carry our draconic blood. Therefore, we dragons will not get involved. In the war between you demons and the humans, we will not favor either side.
That was what they had said at the time.
But right now, Yier Meng couldn’t see a shred of reason in the ice dragon princess, Eirya.
“Teacher!”
“Who do you choose?!” the two of them demanded, speaking almost in perfect unison from front and back.
“…”
Listen to that. Are those the words of a rational person?
The question of “who do you choose”—only a child makes choices. She, Yier Meng, would of course choose to—!
“Sorry, I have something to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now.”
This was a desperate bid for survival. Yier Meng was on the verge of collapsing from their torment.
But even if Yier Meng wanted to leave now, would the two of them, their eyes red with rivalry, let her go? Of course not.
The moment Yier Meng’s body twitched, as if trying to break free in a gentle manner, she was immediately embraced even more tightly by the two of them.
“Teacher!”
“You’re not leaving until you make it clear!”
Another instance of superhumanly tacit understanding.
Yier Meng truly felt that the two of them forming a united front at a time like this was simply not giving her a way out.
And so, Yier Meng could only play deaf and dumb. Although this was obviously just a delaying tactic, being held from both front and back, if she wanted to leave, she couldn’t just use martial arts or magic to send them both flying, could she?
But time was ticking by, second by second. For now, this method could only buy her a little time.
Please! Just give me a lucky break!
Just as Yier Meng was thinking this, it turned out that prayers are sometimes answered.
“You students over there! Please! Get out of the way!”
A loud shout, filled with a fiery urgency, signaled to Yier Meng that things were about to take a turn.
About a hundred meters away, a seemingly soft and petite knight-girl was mounted on a warhorse whose hooves trod on black flames. It was clear the horse had gone berserk and was no longer obeying its rider’s commands, charging forward with all its might.
The hard stone path even began to show spiderweb cracks from the forceful stomping of its hooves.
The shockwave from its mad dash kicked up dust and dirt as it galloped over patches of earth, creating a visible cloud even from a distance, sullying the otherwise spotless campus.
Thankfully, it was Holy Radiance Day, and there was hardly anyone on the path. Otherwise, who knows what kind of situation this sudden stampede would have caused.
Moreover, Yier Meng didn’t know if this horse could somehow smell the scent of a high-ranking demon on her, but the warhorse, which seemed to have some sort of demonic flame attribute, appeared to have locked onto Yier Meng, charging straight for her.
