Chapter 2: The Demon Girl
Waking once more from a deep darkness, the girl came to.
A gilded ceiling stretched above her, and a blindingly holy crystal chandelier shimmered at its center.
Near the room’s window, bright yellow curtains swirled abruptly, their beaded pull chains made from the Holy Light Kingdom’s finest crystal diamonds—Holy Light Star Diamonds.
“Where am I?”
The girl was at a complete loss.
The bizarre situation made her suspect she had arrived in the kingdom of heaven. After all, “he” was the greatest sovereign of the Yeling Empire; never in his life would “he” have a pleasant chat with the Holy Light Kingdom he despised, let alone be forced to live in a room that might as well have had “Holy Light” branded upon it.
“Wait…”
The girl clutched her head, which was throbbing with a severe pain caused by an extreme intolerance to Holy Light.
But as “he” touched his head, he discovered something was wrong.
“Damn it! Why do I have long hair?!”
The greatest sovereign of the Yeling Empire was, of course, a demon. As a supreme being among the creatures of darkness, “he” had always worn a mask, his entire body shrouded in shadow.
“Hold on, something’s not right… Hmm? My voice?”
The girl’s hand moved to her “Adam’s apple.”
It was gone.
Then, checking lower… “…That’s gone too.”
Thump!
Unable to bear it any longer, the girl flung herself from the bed.
“And I’m even flat-chested…”
This was the last straw. It was one thing to be turned into a girl! But not even a busty one!
In the mirror, the girl gently touched the slight curve of her chest, the soft mound fitting perfectly in one hand. Snow-white hair cascaded down to her waist, but atop her head were the distinctive horns of a demon.
There was no doubt. “He,” Yueshen Guang, had been transformed from a man who could match a dragon’s strength head-on into the short, loli-like little demon girl before him. The magical power that was once as vast as a raging sea was now so faint he could barely feel its existence.
“Sigh…”
Unable to help it, he let out a sigh. The girl’s hand reached for the only magical image crystal in the room.
“He” had been reluctant to touch anything on the desk. After all, everything from the Holy Light Kingdom made “him” feel nauseated to his very core.
A brilliant light projected out in an inverted triangle, making the room, which was already excessively bright, even more luminous.
“Teacher, are you satisfied with your new body?”
The person in the image waved at the girl.
With just one glance, the girl—who moments before had found the room so garish she wanted to gouge her own eyes out—was now staring intently, as if she wished she could press her eyeballs right up against the crystal.
This wasn’t a two-way communication crystal, so the girl couldn’t rebuke or question her. Instead, “he” listened in silence, like the calm before a storm.
“Ahh~ I really wish I could see your expression, Teacher. But knowing you, I bet you have a super dense and serious look on your face right now☆,” the person continued, tapping a fingertip against her lips, her black eyes filled with a playful teasing directed at her teacher.
She wore an exquisitely magnificent papal robe. Set against the primary colors of gold and white, she appeared incomparably holy.
In “his” eyes, even the cross on her papal miter, embroidered with holy flowers and thorns, no longer seemed so repulsive.
“I know you must have a lot of questions for me, Teacher, but I’ve been busy preparing for some ceremonies lately and can’t make it back just yet. Don’t worry, your demon identity can only be perceived by high-ranking demons, so for the next few days, I’ll have to trouble you to do a little teaching for me at the Holy Light Academy~”
With that, the image vanished.
