Chapter 56:
When she was woken up again, it was already afternoon.
The weather was still the same. The Thirteenth District showed a rare gloom in the middle of summer. The mist had almost seeped into the room, covering the space.
The mess on the floor had not been cleaned up, and the thin blanket had not been pulled back. The two people on the sofa were stacked together.
Ji Yulin, who was lying on her side, her beautiful but tired brows were tightly knitted. After trembling a few times, she was woken up by a strange feeling.
The hand behind her head moved, and her slender fingers passed through her pink hair. Just as she was about to pull it away, she suddenly sobered up.
Her eyelids were half-lifted, revealing her extremely tired eyes. Then, she saw the creature in her arms arch impatiently, squeezing Ji Yulin further into the sofa, her lips clamped on a certain spot, it was unclear what she was sucking, but she had not stopped.
It was obvious that Ji Yulin had been woken up by this action.
Ji Yulin’s head was in a daze. She couldn’t remember when it had started, nor could she remember when it had finally ended. Everything was controlled by instinct.
When she opened her eyes again, it was now.
The creature that should have been in a lower position had very consciously climbed into Ji Yulin’s arms and had turned into this state.
Ji Yulin, who had been woken up twice in a row, couldn’t help but feel annoyed. But before her raised hand could fall, she saw the face that was covered by her hair and the rest, still flushed red from being smothered, with a residual mist at the corners of her eyes.
Even at this moment, she was still unconsciously showing a panicked and helpless expression.
The hand that should have slapped down thus gently fell, and rhythmically patted this person’s back.
Her eyelids drooped several times, urging her to fall into a deep sleep again. But Ji Yulin forced herself to stay awake, recalling Li An’s abnormality after the nightmare.
What did she dream about?
Heart, tentacles?
The fragmented and illogical words were repeatedly recalled, but in the end, there were still no clues.
A hint of thought flashed in Ji Yulin’s eyes, and then she lowered her head and kissed Li An’s forehead.
The person didn’t know what she was mumbling, but her head rubbed against her, and she buried herself deeper into Ji Yulin’s arms.
Ji Yulin was silent, just silently watching her.
A moment later, her breathing became long and even again. The patting hand gradually stopped, and it was still on Li An.
When she woke up again, it was even later.
The sound of water in the bathroom was intermittent. A moment later, someone pushed open the door. Ji Yulin, who was half-lying on the side of the bed, looked up and waved at the person.
Li An took two steps at a time, and without caring about her dripping hair, she was wearing a wide white short-sleeved shirt and sat directly on Ji Yulin’s side.
Ji Yulin doted on her. She immediately got up, picked up the towel that had been prepared, and wiped her hair.
The same scent of shower gel was warmed by her body temperature and silently intertwined.
Li An was still a little listless. She had been up late last night and had not slept well today. If it weren’t for the fact that she was really uncomfortable, she would have stuck to the sofa all day.
It was the same now. Her fingertips brushed past her hair several times, and her head tilted, and she almost fell into Ji Yulin’s palm.
“Sleepy,” she mumbled and complained.
“Don’t sleep. Sleep at night,” Ji Yulin pulled her face.
“Really sleepy,” Li An raised her hand and grabbed her wrist, pulling her hand down, and then pressed her face into the other’s palm, rubbing it coquettishly.
The towel was put down. The weather was stuffy today, so it was fine to just wipe it half-dry. Occasionally, a breeze would blow in, and she could get a hint of coolness.
“Good girl, hold on,” Ji Yulin coaxed her warmly and said, “Go to bed early tonight.”
Li An subconsciously nodded, then quickly shook her head and said, “I can’t go to bed early.”
Ji Yulin pinched her face, then led Li An to sit cross-legged in front of her and asked, “Why not? Do you have something to do tonight?”
Li An blew up, and the hair that was blocking her vision was lifted, revealing a pair of watery, sapphire-blue eyes. She looked at Ji Yulin obediently, but her reply was malicious, “Last night was not enough.”
Ji Yulin: …
Ji Yulin was about to kick her but was held by the ankle by this person and pressed against her abdomen.
“Mama, step here. It’s soft here,” Li An’s eyes were innocent, but her iron-like hand did not loosen at all.
After last night, her timid appearance was completely gone, and she had turned back into that spoiled little octopus. No, a little octopus would not make a fuss about taking a bath with Ji Yulin and would not wait eagerly at the bathroom door. Fortunately, Ji Yulin had locked the door early on and had stopped this rascal.
Now that there was no door to block her, she couldn’t wait to press against her.
Ji Yulin didn’t speak, just gave her a slight glare, and at the same time, her toes ground a few times, as if in punishment or reward.
Li An pretended not to understand and even lowered her head to get closer, kissing Ji Yulin’s instep and then her calf.
It was a good thing this person was beautiful. Her delicate features were youthful but not without charm, between a bright and beautiful girl and a mature woman. The corners of her eyes were still red, like a faint blush left by a fallen peach blossom. Her half-closed eyes were devout and docile, reminding one of a devout woman who had worshipped a god since she was a child. No matter how absurd her actions were, they did not feel like blasphemy.
Tiny kisses fell again and again, from her ankle to her calf. Just as she reached the bend of her knee, she was stopped by Ji Yulin, who lifted her leg and kicked her shoulder.
“It tickles,” Ji Yulin’s voice was no longer clear. Even after drinking a whole glass of water after waking up, she could not soothe the hoarseness of her voice.
Li An still wanted to get closer shamelessly, but Ji Yulin lifted her leg again, and her pale toes hooked her chin, forcing her to look up.
“You bad thing,” she scolded without any threat.
The creature did not refute and just looked at her with eager eyes.
It was the same last night. She had said no but had not stopped. She had just looked at Ji Yulin with a pair of wet, blue eyes, with a look of a glutton who could not get enough, which made Ji Yulin’s heart soften. She had said “last time” over and over again. In the end, she couldn’t take it anymore and bit Li An’s shoulder in anger, and only then did the person barely stop.
Ji Yulin was not fooled by her today. The same trick had been used so many times. Even the dumbest person would not fall for it.
She kicked Li An’s shoulder and said, “Sit up straight. I have something to say.”
Li An could only show a regretful expression and obediently sat back in her original position.
Ji Yulin then got up and sat opposite her. Because she was only wearing a shirt, she pulled over a blanket to cover herself.
It made Li An look at her with resentment.
You’re guarding against me.
Ji Yulin gave a faint glance, and Li An shrank her head. The words she had not been able to say were thus held back.
If you don’t look, you don’t look.
She started to act wronged again. Ji Yulin ignored her and instead said, “You said two sentences.”
Li An didn’t understand but asked, “What did I say?”
“Say it again,” Ji Yulin’s gaze fell, and she looked at her lip shape.
Li An didn’t understand but did as she was told and obediently repeated, “What did I say?”
Ji Yulin nodded slightly and said, “Next sentence.”
Li An scratched her head and said randomly, “The sky outside is so blue?”
“It’s blue,” Ji Yulin corrected her meticulously.
Only now did she know what she was going to do. Li An had been in the shape of an octopus for too long. Before, her thoughts had been fine, and she could say every word. But after turning into a person, it was very awkward. Although she was thinking of this sound in her heart, she would say it with a different tone. She had not yet fully adapted to this human body.
Ji Yulin had wanted to correct her before, but at that time, she was busy with Li An thinking about things, and she was also cold to Ji Yulin, so she had helplessly postponed it until today.
“Blue,” Li An tried to imitate.
Ji Yulin gently slapped her face and corrected her again, “Blue.”
Li An didn’t feel any pain and continued with a focused expression, “Blue.”
Finally, it was correct. Ji Yulin held Li An’s face with both hands and placed a kiss on her forehead.
There were rewards and punishments.
Li An’s eyes curved, and she laughed shamelessly, and said in a fawning manner, “Teacher Ji.”
These three words were standard.
Ji Yulin kissed her forehead again and encouraged, “Classmate Li An, keep it up.”
The meticulous teaching was boring. She asked again, “What’s in the Thirteenth Safe Zone?”
“What’s in the Thirteenth Safe Zone?” Li An subconsciously repeated.
“Hmm?” Ji Yulin asked again.
Li An thought for a moment and said, “Houses.”
“Villas.”
In this way, she asked and asked, and after a few times, Li An would say whatever she thought of. If she was wrong, she would be corrected by Ji Yulin. There were more rewards than punishments.
Until Li An said, “Qi Fu.”
The tone was not off, but Ji Yulin repeated, “Qi Fu?”
“Qi Fu,” Li An followed.
—Thwack!
A slap landed on her cheek, a little heavier than before. Li An rubbed her face against her hand.
“Qi Fu,” Ji Yulin ignored her and continued.
Li An sensed that something was wrong and hummed twice, not wanting to continue, but she was punished with another slap.
“It hurts,” she complained in a low voice.
Ji Yulin’s eyes grew heavy, and she repeated through gritted teeth, “Qi Fu.”
The jealousy from a few days ago, now she finally had a chance to settle the score. It wasn’t something that Li An could get away with by acting coquettishly.
Li An also knew this. Although her face was not red at all, she showed a miserable expression. The moment she said “Qi Fu,” she bit Ji Yulin’s fingertip.
Ji Yulin raised an eyebrow and felt a warm, wet sensation.
And the creature did not stop. She looked up and kissed the corner of Ji Yulin’s lips, and complained, “I said it right.”
She was asking for a reward.
Ji Yulin smiled, and asked with an ambiguous tone, “You said it right?”
Li An was immediately alert and, while pecking at her, said repeatedly, “I said it wrong, I said it wrong.”
But Ji Yulin would not let her go and asked again, “You said it wrong?”
Her raised hand was by her cheek again.
Li An quickly turned her head and pressed her cheek against her palm a few times, as a punishment.
She admitted her mistake as quickly as she did bad things.
Ji Yulin gave her a half-smile, as if to say, “If there’s a next time, you just try it.”
Li An smiled guiltily.
Ji Yulin casually looked out the window and said, “What’s outside?”
Li An was obedient now and said everything about the trees, flowers, and grass, not daring to mention any names.
At this moment, the window was already misty, which affected the light in the room, and it also became a little dim.
In her movements, the blanket that was used to cover her was pulled, revealing a section of her slender calf.
Li An glanced out of the corner of her eye, and slowly moved up, and then landed on the open part of her shirt. She didn’t know if it was intentional or not, but Ji Yulin had unbuttoned two buttons now. Under her straight collarbone, a half-arc was faintly visible, and the marks left by Li An could still be faintly seen. Compared to her tentacles, her mouth was still much worse, leaving only a faint mark.
A little dissatisfied, Li An narrowed her eyes and stared at the mark, and unconsciously recited the answer to the last question.
Ji Yulin noticed but did not stop her. Her straight, bamboo-like back was slightly curved. When she was rewarded with a close touch, the fabric was pulled, revealing more.
Li An unconsciously gripped the bedsheet beside her.
“What did you dream about last night?” Ji Yulin nonchalantly changed the subject, and in the next second, she said, “Do you want to change the reward?”
Before Li An could be alert to the first question, she was attracted by the question.
“Dream.”
“Mmm, dream,” Ji Yulin waited patiently. As she lifted her leg, the fabric was pulled a little more.
“I dreamed of you.”
“Hmm?” Ji Yulin coaxed, “What did you dream about?”
“You’re bad,” Li An stuttered out.
“Bad, where am I bad?” Ji Yulin’s hand was on the tightly fastened button, her tone alluring.
“You’re not obedient,” Li An’s gaze followed and landed on that spot.
She remembered that she had left a lot of marks, especially where the red wine had flowed. Why couldn’t she find them now?
“Where am I not obedient?”
The button was easily unbuttoned, and Li An finally saw another one, right on the edge of the roundness, a little deeper than the last one, but it looked thin.
Li An frowned, feeling that she could do better.
In her distraction, her reply was even slower, and she just said, “You’re very stubborn?”
“Oh?” Ji Yulin frowned slightly, not knowing what she was reminded of.
Li An subconsciously wanted to say something else but suddenly stopped, her eyelids trembling.
The dream was like a dream, and she didn’t know if she should say it. When Li An still had a deeper secret.
System, mission.
When these two words flashed in her mind, Li An suddenly sobered up. The hand that was gripping the bedsheet tightened, afraid that Ji Yulin would notice something else. Her voice was still the same, “I don’t remember.”
Ji Yulin paused for a moment, her gaze even deeper.
“You don’t remember?”
Li An blinked, showing an innocent expression, and said with a righteous tone, “Yes, it’s been so long. I just remember that in the dream, you were also pushing me away, not letting me continue. You were very bad.”
Did the events of the night extend into her dream?
Ji Yulin gave her a deep look and didn’t say anything else, just raised her hand to Li An.
Li An obediently leaned into her palm.
—Thwack!
A solid slap landed, more painful than any of the previous ones.
Li An, who had been prepared, was stunned for a moment.
Ji Yulin lifted her eyes and gave her a condescending look.
“You just got a word wrong,” she said.
Li An didn’t dare to refute and just said, “I was wrong.”
Ji Yulin didn’t continue. She got up and said, “Let’s eat.”
Li An blinked, looking at Ji Yulin with a hint of regret as she buttoned her shirt.
She didn’t dare to push her luck. Seeing that Ji Yulin was about to leave the room, she quickly got out of bed, randomly put on her slippers, and frantically followed her.
The door closed with a click, and the sound of footsteps grew more and more distant, until it disappeared.
