107. An Easy to Understand Dummy (Part 1)
On a crisp autumn morning, Reina, having finished her meal, was resting in the living room with a cup of tea.
When the time was right, she closed her eyes and silently chanted “[Place of Prayer].” When she opened her eyes again, Reina found herself still in the bedchamber. No, she was certain she had arrived at the [Place of Prayer].
This was a rare instance of “in-place teleportation.” Little Cal was sitting beside Reina, their bodies close, yet they were looking at each other’s faces. Of course, Reina would never allow anyone else to touch her body.
If it were Calysia, perhaps… for her hard work, Reina could forgive her.
Little Cal, seeing Reina arrive so frequently, seemed quite surprised and asked:
“What brings you here this time?”
“Little Cal, I’m a little tired…” Reina yawned and leaned tiredly against Calysia’s body. Little Cal looked at her with concern, but as a “system,” she did nothing.
“Little Cal, there are some things I don’t want to tell Calysia. I’m sorry, you’re the only one I can confide in.” Little Cal originally wanted to refuse Reina’s request, saying that she was just a system, and tried to find ways to make Reina talk to Calysia herself. But after Reina’s tail coiled around hers, she submitted.
Reina wanted to vent.
“Little Cal, I really miss Calysia bathing me…”
“Hmm?”
“Lately, we haven’t had much time to bathe together. After all, that dummy always spends two hours with me in the bath, and she likes to play with me in the water… there’s just no chance anymore~”
“Mm…”
“Calysia asks me how I am every day, but I always refuse.” Little Cal’s eyes flickered, and her tail swayed.
“Actually, I really care about her.”
“It’s just that I didn’t have time back then…”
“Can you turn back time, Little Cal? I really want to go back in time and hug Calysia~”
Reina’s voice was filled with sadness, her genuine emotion making Little Cal’s heart pound. But she just shook her head: “Perhaps you can learn time-related magic in the near future.”
“…Humph,” Reina nuzzled against Little Cal’s shoulder, a gesture of affection among dragons.
Little Cal remained expressionless… but it took a great deal of effort. “Actually, my recent research into forbidden magic has made me… very sad.”
“Why?”
Little Cal’s eyes narrowed slightly, seemingly concerned about this matter. “[Gate of Heaven] is a magic that spans the entire world.”
“The entire process requires about ten people to complete, and of the thirteen members who completed the magic back then, only two remain.”
“The others either died in disputes or mysteriously disappeared.”
“That period of history is also vaguely recorded.”
“I don’t know what happened back then…”
“Hey, Little Cal, Calysia will be okay, right?”
Reina told Little Cal everything she had translated from the book.
“And then there’s that so-called [Shadow of God], an extreme forbidden magic organization…” Reina’s expression suddenly became serious. Then, she lowered her head, looking desolate and sad. “I found out that Phantom Dragon might be one of them.”
“I originally thought that deciphering that book would help me understand the [Gate of Heaven] and save Calysia, but I was wrong.”
“This is just the tip of the iceberg of the [Gate of Heaven].”
Hearing these words, Little Cal’s body trembled unconsciously. But even such a slight reaction was noticed by Reina.
Saying that, Reina took Little Cal’s hand, suddenly turned her head, and looked at Little Cal with affectionate eyes. “Little Cal, do you know how much pain Calysia is in, having lost a part of her soul?”
“…”
Little Cal’s trembling became more obvious.
“I like her, I really like her… so, I really hope to absorb her soul and understand her past…”
Saying that, Reina’s other hand wrapped around Calysia’s waist, pressing her body down, directly pinning Little Cal onto the bed.
She could smell the faint fragrance on Little Cal’s body through her nightgown—there was no mistake, it was Calysia’s unique scent.
Little Cal was instantly flustered. She wanted to explain something, but Reina’s breath and proactive actions made her helpless.
She lost all her strength. Finally, just as she had figured out how to rationally refute Reina, the latter kissed her.
A minute later, the two separated.
“Calysia, I like you.”
…
The matter traced back to when Reina woke up from a warm bed, originally happy about not having to do housework… but suddenly remembered that the one-week deadline was approaching!
Deciphering an obscure ancient text in two weeks was indeed too difficult. All her time had been wasted on researching forbidden magic.
Reina quickly began to plan her escape before the wedding. But simply running away seemed completely unfeasible.
Escaping the wedding was definitely not an option.
Pretending to be missing would undoubtedly lead to the entire Dragon Realm turning the world upside down to find her.
Even faking her own death, Calysia would probably become obsessed and find a way to bring her back.
Reina discovered that the Church of Light had a sacred prayer place.
As long as her clone prayed there with a calm mind, she could eliminate the distracting thoughts in her heart—perhaps, Calysia’s mental submission could also be purified in that way.
Therefore, Reina no longer had to worry about mental submission. Finally, she came up with a reliable method: pretend to submit to Calysia. However, if she really got pregnant with dragon offspring, it would no longer be a matter of mental submission!
Reina thought of an excellent way to expose Little Cal.
Based on her observations over the past few days, Reina discovered that Little Cal was definitely not a so-called “system.”
Calysia was a simple little girl who craved love and companionship. She would definitely feel guilty and submit to Reina after her identity was exposed. If she could use emotions to restrain Calysia’s behavior, it would be for the best.
After the wedding, Reina could use this as a reason to refuse Calysia. Then, Reina would gradually unravel Calysia’s obsession and find an opportunity to create a more realistic Light Clone to replace her current self.
Her main body would then find a chance to escape the Silver Dragon Airspace.
As expected of her. To carry out this plan, Reina could stay in the office for long periods every day. When Calysia passed by the office, she would always see Reina diligently deciphering forbidden magic.
At these times, she would always show a worried expression.
—Calysia took the bait.
…In the [Place of Prayer], Little Cal pursed her lips, a look of surprise and disbelief on her face. Her mind raced to process the current information, wanting to say something to brush it off, but she was powerless. She wouldn’t refuse my affection. Just like before. Knowing she had succeeded, Reina smiled faintly and muttered to herself:
“What an easy to understand dummy.”
