75. White Scale
The difference between light magic and other types of magic was stark: its immense plasticity and versatility, and its ability to combine the advantages of multiple attributes.
Light attribute magic was a modified, civilian, simplified, mini version of light magic.
Their usage and power differed drastically.
Reina could manifest dark wings, but she could also use light magic to change their appearance to that of dragon wings, thus avoiding suspicion.
If she were exposed, people would definitely point and say:
“—Azure Scale is actually the corrupted Goddess of Light!”
“—Lord Azure Scale has a hidden past?!”
“—The Goddess of Light has been captured by the Dragon King?!”
Thinking of this, Reina wanted to laugh.
First, she wasn’t the Goddess of Light.
Second, she wasn’t corrupted.
More importantly, the Dragon King hadn’t captured her.
Although Reina was uncertain about the future of the dragon race, she was certain that she was free!
Although this world differed in difficulty from the previous one, it was only a slight difference.
She was still that powerful speedrunner.
Since absorbing the Seven Sins of Corruption, Reina’s Light level had increased to 26.
This brought not only new skills but also increased proficiency in using magic and a boost to her attributes.
Now, Reina could not only fly proficiently but also extend her flight time by two whole hours.
More importantly, her light magic could now be used offensively—Reina guessed that using light magic wouldn’t increase her Dragon Mark level, which was the most crucial aspect.
But unfortunately, [Light Clone] was difficult to use.
Currently, the [clone] was just an illusion, unable to attack, not even able to lift its feet.
Therefore, this matter had to be put on hold for now.
Two hours of flight time was enough for Reina to reach her destination.
The Silver Dragon Airspace was surrounded by storms, and the exit was a large gate on the west side, like a mythical silver-white bridge magnified countless times.
The patrolling dragons noticed her and, instead of greeting her, flew to her side to escort her—their gazes seemed to question why Reina was flying so slowly.
Reina naturally noticed their doubts.
But it wasn’t a big deal.
Royalty and nobles didn’t gallop into cities on horseback, and she wasn’t going to a fight~
Maintaining elegance was the quality of a Demon Moon~
…My foot!
Reina was flying slowly because this was her top speed.
Compared to those dragons with real, powerful wings, her magically created wings were weak—of course, Reina could use [Gravity] to accelerate.
But such superfluous actions would only increase the risk of exposure.
After flying out of the Silver Dragon Airspace, Reina finally felt free.
Following her memory, she flew to a desolate area of black earth, littered with bones and shrouded in mist, looking like a construction site undergoing land reclamation.
After flying over two mountain peaks, a cave transformed into a white fortress came into view, resembling a small castle built into the mountain.
Of course, the most shocking thing wasn’t this mountain castle, but the two dragons guarding it on either side.
—These weren’t the Twelve Great Dragons, but two genuine [Bone Dragons].
Their bodies were made entirely of white bones, like living fossils pieced together by archaeologists from ancient ruins.
At first glance, they looked fragile, as if they would shatter at a touch, but they possessed a ferocity and loyalty that ordinary dragons couldn’t comprehend.
Reina landed on a large platform on the mountainside, resembling an airfield.
“Roar…”
Seeing Reina, the Bone Dragons landed gently on either side of the “airfield,” their hundred-meter-tall bodies a breathtaking sight. They lay on the ground, their bone wings spread out, a standard dragon greeting.
Reina shook her head and walked straight into the palace.
A wave of cold air washed over her as she entered.
She took a step inside, and the large door behind her suddenly closed, leaving her in pitch darkness.
Ghostly blue flames ignited in a chain reaction, illuminating the dark interior.
At the end of the castle was a massive sarcophagus, so large that Reina had to look up to see it fully. Its surface was covered in indescribable murals, so ancient that they dated back to the Primordial Era.
Suddenly, the murals began to writhe and twist, constantly changing into new texts and images before Reina’s very eyes, like an ever-evolving ecosystem, endlessly changing with the passage of time.
“White Scale, what are you doing?”
Reina sighed.
“Shall we talk?”
A clear, girlish voice came from within the sarcophagus.
“Come out.”
At Reina’s urging, the murals stopped changing.
A hidden door suddenly appeared on the sarcophagus. It opened, and a cute-looking dragon girl timidly stepped out, a hint of fear in her blue, ghost-fire-like eyes.
“Waaah—! Don’t eat me!”
“I’m Azure Scale.”
Reina covered her face with her hand.
And even if she wanted to eat, who would want to gnaw on a skeleton?
But the girl walked up to Reina, her whole body still trembling.
Reina realized that White Scale had known she was coming all along.
Suddenly, Reina, for some reason, thought of White Scale in the normal storyline.
When humans approached, she would burst out of the sarcophagus in her dragon form, like an unstoppable war machine, charging at the protagonist and smashing through entire mountain ranges until the protagonist was dead.
And now, she had emerged like a little girl afraid of Reina.
“I won’t eat you, don’t worry.”
“Sob, sob~”
White Scale huddled, her face pale as she looked at Reina.
Reina found it a bit amusing:
“Why are you afraid of me?”
“Because, because… Lord Azure Scale was able to easily defeat Crimson Scale, so you can definitely… easily kill me too. I don’t want to be turned into dragon soup!”
Reina couldn’t help but laugh.
“White Scale, I think you’ve misunderstood something. I’m here to ask you for a favor.”
She said, handing White Scale a small box she carried with her.
“Eh?”
White Scale looked up, took the box, opened it gently, and looked at the contents inside, a delighted smile appearing on her face.
Inside the box were Crimson Scale’s brain, spleen, several important scales plucked directly from his body, and some unmentionable body tissues soaked in saline.
These items, in any movie set, would be considered top-tier horror props, the kind that could give people nightmares.
But White Scale, the Bone Dragon, was ecstatic:
“Lord Azure Scale, you’re actually quite nice!”
“Do you need any help?”
White Scale immediately acted like a puppy, nuzzling closer.
This was normal.
Crimson Scale often made White Scale work for him.
But Crimson Scale never gave her any reward. For White Scale, working for nothing had become the norm.
But Reina had actually given her the remains of a high-ranking dragon!
As someone well-versed in necromancy, these were excellent materials.
If she had to make a comparison…
It was probably equivalent to the value of a house for a low-ranking individual.
But White Scale’s next reaction was completely unexpected.
“Is it for the wedding? I’ll definitely attend and help you please the Dragon King!”
“No…”
“I can also make… adult toys!” White Scale said eagerly.
Reina’s veins bulged.
“I can also make… adult toys!”
Wait… What?
