22. Why Resist?
The good news was that Reina was all too familiar with the Goddess of Light.
The bad news was that she hadn’t seen any of these three before.
The man in the clown suit on the right exuded no magical aura, seemingly a “gimmick-based” type, or perhaps his true body wasn’t even here. This deliberate disguise of having no magic power was like a form of “showing off.”
The dragon on the left had a more terrifyingly massive body than Gold Scale’s, or rather, the two were incomparable. Just from his appearance, it was clear that he was incredibly strong, a completely different kind of terror from Calysia.
—If she had to say, one was cold and ruthless, while the other was violent.
This dragon’s entire being was filled with “violence.”
Just from his appearance, she could tell that his strength far surpassed Calysia’s from the previous difficulty level. Reina gave him a conservative estimate—level 150.
The bandaged girl in the center was even more mysterious. In comparison, the other two seemed less frightening.
Reina could feel the unbridled magic power emanating from her, and the unfathomable ambition in her eyes, which made Reina shudder. She had no idea what her identity was, what race she belonged to, or when she had become active on this continent.
As the saying goes, the greatest fear is the fear of the unknown.
If she judged by magic power alone, based on the level calculation curve, she should be around level 140.
In conclusion, the clown man’s level should also be between 120 and 150. Of course, these were all conservative estimates. If she were to predict on the high side, Reina would even give that mysterious dragon the same level as Calysia.
After Phantom Dragon’s death, Reina discovered that this world was gradually becoming unfamiliar to her, including the previous Goddess of Light and that unknown hidden ending, as well as these three unknown enemies before her.
And as for the greatest threat, it was still the Goddess of Light.
Reina looked at the pitch-black darkness and the burning black flames.
This is too bright?!
Just from that one attack, Reina could give her a level of 200.
The physical strength of [Sinking Statue] was arguably the strongest among all the colossi.
To be able to effortlessly swallow this giant of over level 95, the power gap was already immense.
If judged by strength alone, no one, including everyone present with Calysia, could possibly win. Even if they all attacked at once, it wouldn’t be a guaranteed victory against this legendary being. After all, she was a god!
—All of the above thoughts occurred in an instant.
They had no time to breathe.
According to the normal storyline, Reina should have had ample time to think about countermeasures before the boss battle, but in reality, these fully prepared enemies were far ahead, not only in terms of strength but also in intelligence and information.
“Snap—”
The bandaged girl at the front snapped her fingers. The bandages on her chest loosened slightly, revealing her fair skin, leaving much to the imagination.
The next second, space distorted.
No magic circle, no warning, no detectable element.
This one attack made Reina understand just how terrifyingly powerful the leader of the Shadow of God was. Of course, everyone, including Calysia, realized this problem, but it was too late.
Space became like jelly, constantly twisting and swaying. For those within it, it was like being on a pirate ship at 50 times the speed, instantly making them dizzy.
The Dark Elf Queen recognized her skill, but her despairing spirit made her unable to react in time.
“Damn it, I’m so dizzy!”
The werewolf leaned against a rock. His mental fortitude was the lowest, and he couldn’t cope with the situation. In just a few seconds, he foamed at the mouth and fainted, unconscious.
Most of the ordinary people suffered the same fate as the werewolf.
At the very least, they were dizzy; at worst, they fainted, completely losing their ability to fight.
Just as everyone was about to be crushed like cookies by the spatial fluctuations, Calysia raised her hand, and the fluctuations stopped.
[Chaos]
Seeing her power being quickly broken, the bandaged girl tilted her head and said in a mechanical, emotionless voice:
“What a troublesome person. But this way, the battlefield is much cleaner.”
Reina looked around and discovered that the once-large group was now reduced to just a few.
All the dragon Demon Moons were conscious. Although Azure Dragon and Fire Dragon were affected, they didn’t faint. Half of the Dragon Knights were conscious, half had fainted, but their overall combat power hadn’t been greatly weakened.
The orcs were in a more miserable state. The cat girl, the shaman, Kribi, and Kritz were the only four survivors. The ground was littered with traces of used Goddess’s Treasures, but clearly, they were helpless against the exaggerated gravitational fluctuations. The orc soldiers were nowhere to be seen, it was unknown if they had survived the Goddess of Light’s black sun.
On the blood race’s side, Sophia and Peter were still standing. The princes had only three elite members left, who were still conscious, but unfortunately, none of the blood race soldiers survived.
Nothing happened on the Dark Elf Queen’s side, but the fate of her stationed army was unknown.
Surprisingly, with the help of their faith, almost all the human Holy Knights and priests were conscious. In the current situation, they were a considerable fighting force.
“Priests, form a formation!”
“Holy Knights, raise your shields!”
The Saintess shouted, her voice hoarse.
The Holy Knights formed a formation, raised their large, half-body-sized shields, and a defensive barrier of light attribute rose from all sides.
The priests chanted magic, forming a huge magic circle, and began to heal the wounds of those who had fainted.
The Cardinals also acted quickly.
For a moment, the weak humans actually became the most steadfast force.
“Do you think you’ve already won?”
A roar sounded, and Court Statue Kribi, wielding his broadsword, erupted with a lightning aura no less powerful than the Beast King’s. The latter also gathered his strength in the next second, and the lightning wrapped around the two of them instantly became the brightest light in the dark night.
As if remembering something, Kribi threw a handful of something towards the dragon race.
“Catch, dragons!”
Reina caught it with gravity and found that it was a box.
Opening the box, she saw countless golden rings—the same Goddess’s Treasures as Phantom Dragon’s!
Kribi also threw boxes to the Dark Elf Queen, Sophia, and the Saintess, showing no mercy.
…The orcs were quite reliable at critical moments.
These Goddess’s Treasures were probably useless to her.
But for others, they were “get out of jail free cards.”
Sophia nodded in thanks, a huge red scythe appearing in her hand, her crimson eyes making her look like a goddess of the night.
The Saintess walked up to the despairing Dark Elf Queen, extended her hand, and said:
“Tris, we haven’t lost yet.”
“The battle has just begun.”
At the same time, the bandaged girl crossed her long, slender legs, looking down at the people below with interest.
“Why resist, you insects?”
“It’s meaningless…”
