78. Secret Mission
“These are just training injuries, hehe. Liya has been training hard lately.”
Gold Scale explained.
Only then did Liya nod slightly, her voice somewhat tired: “Good afternoon, Sister Reina, Dragon King.”
Reina originally wanted to ask about Liya’s current condition, but after thinking about it, she decided against it. After all, everyone had their ups and downs. But out of concern for her subordinate, and also because of her attitude towards someone she valued, she asked:
“Liya, did something happen on your end?”
“On my end, well… I’ll figure it out myself. But Sister Reina, what’s wrong with your eyes?”
Logically, Reina would have crossed her arms, pretended to be cool, and said, “Work injury.”
“It’s a bit complicated to explain. My strength is increasing… and it has affected my eyes.”
Saying this, Reina could clearly feel Liya tremble slightly, as if she had been stimulated. But on the surface, she just smiled gently as usual.
“I see, Lady Reina, remember to take care of yourself.”
After exchanging nods, the group parted ways again.
Holding Reina’s hand, Calysia and the two of them returned to the highest office in Norville Castle. The effects of her blindness were much more severe than she had imagined. If it were before, she could have quickly taken over Calysia’s work now, but from a certain perspective, she didn’t have to worry at all now. Calysia would tell her what needed to be confirmed, and Reina would be responsible for confirming it, so there would be no problems.
During this time, Reina had been sitting on Calysia’s lap, and the high-ranking members of the God Slaying Society would come and go without thinking anything was strange, which made Reina a little embarrassed. She could only hope that no one would recognize the difference between her clone and her main body.
“Hey, President! You’re back!”
Kribi scratched his head, a wide smile on his face.
Reina had once been convinced that Kribi was a gloomy warrior, but now she discovered that he might just be a lively uncle.
“How’s work going?”
“Everything is normal! Also, Holsey found a trace of the Shadow of God yesterday, but the base disappeared after the second confirmation.”
“I’ve read the document. It’s a normal phenomenon. Remember to mark it. The Shadow of God might move to any possible location. We need to replan now.”
“Oh—!”
Kribi seemed to have understood and scratched his head.
“But, President, how did you read the document with your eyes covered?”
Saying this, Calysia’s tail coiled around Reina’s tail as if asking for praise. Reina originally wanted to brush it off, but seeing her expression, she could only say, “It’s all thanks to my assistant. The Dragon King has been helping me these past few days.”
She said it a little more subtly. After all, directly saying that the Dragon King was managing the God Slaying Society was a bit inappropriate. In principle, due to the Four Kings of the Realms, the other two would also have to turn a blind eye.
However, she still had to maintain some face.
“Then we really have to thank the Dragon King,” Kribi nodded in understanding and then returned to his seat to write a report. Of course, this wouldn’t take long.
Then, another person entered the office. Reina sensed the magic in the air and discovered that it was actually Mura.
Mura still had that respectful and shy look.
If it weren’t for the hatred of the God of Light causing her to become overexcited, she would always be so reserved.
She clearly hadn’t suspected Reina’s flat belly either.
“President, Dragon King.”
Although it wasn’t obvious, Reina could feel that Mura had some reservations about Calysia.
It was probably because of the problem caused by Calysia’s public declaration that the God of Light was her private property.
Thinking of this, Reina’s tail wrapped around Calysia’s even more tightly.
“President, I assume you’ve read the document. We need some funds now to start the [God Slaying Plan]. The dark elves will be responsible for driving it and assisting the God Slaying Society.”
“Mm…”
Reina nodded.
The so-called God Slaying Plan was simple.
Create an ultimate magic that could kill the Goddess of Light, for tactical use, to prevent any accidents during the Four Kings of the Realms’ meeting. It was clear that they didn’t know that Reina already had the [God-Binding Collar] artifact, and Reina had also agreed to this agreement on paper.
“I’ll consider it. It’s important to be able to respond to the Goddess’s devastating attacks in a timely manner, but I have one condition.”
“Please speak.”
“The creation and experimentation of the magic need to be completely guided and led by me.”
“Forgive my lack of understanding…” Mura nodded slightly.
“Because it’s more efficient, and I don’t want to see any chaos,” Reina said with a smile, hinting that she didn’t want the dark elves to secretly cause any trouble. “And I already have a good idea to offer you. Simply put, it’s a devastating attack method that can specifically harm the God of Light and also destroy the world… This is also why I want to take the lead.”
She didn’t want to personally create a magic that might kill her.
At least leave a backdoor.
Mura thought it made sense, nodded, and returned to her seat. Based on observing her breathing and the emotional fluctuations caused by her way of speaking, Reina could judge that she didn’t suspect her identity. This was enough.
“By the way, where is the Saintess?”
Peter, who was following behind Mura, asked.
“I haven’t seen Miss Saintess these past few days, and it just so happens that there’s chaos on the human side, what with the so-called Pope… Could something bad have happened?”
“That’s true!” Kribi slapped his thigh. “As a member of the God Slaying Society, isn’t that Saintess a bit too carefree? She can’t even manage the human territory!”
Reina felt like they were scolding her, the nominal Goddess of Light.
She suddenly remembered that Agnes was still cleaning before she left.
“The Saintess has been assigned a special mission by me.”
“So that’s how it is,” Kribi was enlightened. “So that’s how it is…”
“That must be very dangerous!” Peter, sitting beside him, said with concern. Although he hated humans, the Saintess was a companion after all.
Reina remembered Agnes trying to use light magic to conjure countless mops and almost tripping herself.
“Very dangerous.”
“Does she need support?”
Kribi was eager to try. He hadn’t had a fight in a long time, and his fists were itching.
Reina thought of the cooperation between herself and Agnes and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“No need, I’ll find a way, but not now.”
“I see…” Mura also seemed to have understood something, her expression serious. “I thought the President was recuperating. It turns out you’re still secretly carrying out a mission. How is the situation now?”
Reina was speechless.
She remembered that her main body was still locked in chains and hadn’t been released. The dragon egg was growing bigger day by day, and her belly was also swelling. She chuckled wryly:
“I’ve encountered a crisis, but it’s about to be resolved. You don’t need to worry.”
Instantly, the three people present were filled with admiration for the President. They had never seen such a calm, serious, and decisive leader.
