#Explode! Song Wenwei’s Car Exploded#
#Lu Nan Lends a Helping Hand#
#Linyu Bridge Guardrail Loose, Bystander Falls into Lake#
[Holy crap, how did the car suddenly catch fire?]
[Who are these two?]
[Lu Nan, thank you for saving Song Wenwei’s life. I won’t curse you anymore—you’re truly a good person.]
[Beautiful and kind-hearted, my Lu-jie.]
[Lu Nan, I won’t call you an ice block anymore. You’re clearly Lei Feng reincarnated.]
[Song Wenwei is so pitiful. I heard she’s still in the hospital.]
[That fall must’ve caused a concussion, right?]
[Why didn’t Song Wenwei move? The car hit the guardrail and she didn’t budge, it caught fire and she still didn’t move. In the end, Lu Nan had to carry her out.]
[This wasn’t an accident, was it??]
[Possible. Why wouldn’t a driver even twitch? No braking in the video either. Could there really be something wrong…?]
[Don’t go full conspiracy theory, guys.]
…
Ten minutes earlier, Li Erning received an anonymous email about Lu Nan and Song Wenwei.
—[30 million, buy the video. Female celeb comes out.]
Clicking it open revealed a video about five minutes long. In the pitch-black footage, only a few scattered lights glowed. A car suddenly burst into flames, its rear end slamming into the guardrail. Immediately after came a piercing honk.
Beep beep beep—!
A silver SUV braked hard right as the flames erupted, the vehicle lurching forward and scraping a long mark on the ground.
The person grabbed an extinguisher to douse the fire, then stumbled to the front seat. As the firelight died, that figure swayed. In the silent night, only the wind whistled past.
The distance was too far for a clear view, but in the blurry footage, one could see the person holding a woman, comforting and kissing her. Listening closely, amid the wind, there were sobs and whimpers…
The video ended there.
Lu Nan lowered her eyes and watched it through, her grip tightening on her phone. Impatience flickered across her face.
[Li Erning: Did you watch the video? They’re asking 30 million.]
Lu Nan thought for a moment before typing back.
[Don’t buy it.]
[Li Erning: Funny, Song Wenwei’s side says the same. Neither of us wants it, so it’ll leak in under ten minutes. Get ready—coming out will be a hassle at first, but it’ll blow over in a few days.]
[Lu Nan: Highway robbery. Let them leak it. Wishful thinking on their part.]
Since Song Wenwei’s side hadn’t bought it either, that meant they’d seen the video—and were okay with the two of them coming out.
[Lu Nan: If I come out, will it affect that movie in two months?]
[Li Erning: No impact. As long as you don’t break the law, nothing matters.]
[Lu Nan: Good.]
As expected, just two minutes after their exchange, the video went public and spread like wildfire online.
But unlike the full version they’d seen, this one was only three minutes long. The missing two minutes never surfaced.
She watched it carefully—it matched exactly what they’d viewed before, except it cut off right as Lu Nan picked up the person. No comforting, no kisses.
[Lu Nan: You bought the last two minutes?]
[Li Erning: No, I didn’t. Someone else did.]
Seeing those last three words, long-buried memories flooded back to Lu Nan. She’d almost forgotten—there was someone blocking between them. Since neither she nor Song Wenwei had bought it, “It” must have.
Anyone could guess this wasn’t good. The thought of someone spying on them for over six years made Lu Nan’s stomach churn. That total lack of privacy was creepy and repulsive.
[Lu Nan: Can you trace who bought it?]
[Li Erning: No, it’s a paparazzi solo op. Untraceable.]
Fair enough.
But Lu Nan wouldn’t let it go. This was serious. Neither of them had anything worth surveilling. What did they want from the two of them?
The only lead was that Su Shi from years ago, Song Wenwei’s father, and Xia Zhengyun…
—
A lavish crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. Click. A large hand switched off the light.
“Why sleep with such a bright light on? Doesn’t it hurt your eyes?”
Footsteps approached, and the mattress dipped. The chill of a winter night clung to her body, sending a shiver through the morning air despite the hour.
“Stop pretending. I know you’re awake.”
A hand shot out from under the covers, swatting away the restraint, then leaned against the bedhead to create distance.
The person’s tone was indifferent: “So what? Xia Yubing, look at what you’ve done.”
A scoff echoed in the room: “What did I do? I don’t even know.”
As the person in her arms opened her mouth to retort, those hands clamped over Xia Zhengyun’s mouth, yanking her closer.
“By the way, did you see that video of Lu Nan and Song Wenwei last night? So intimate, just like us now…” Xia Yubing’s lips brushed the earlobe of the woman in her arms. Her mouth parted slightly, sharp teeth grazing the soft flesh. She nibbled like a grinding bite: “Was it good?”
Revulsion hit Xia Zhengyun like nausea roiling in her gut. She didn’t want another second of this confinement, trapped like she had been in the psych ward.
She bit down hard on those hands, clamping until her gums ached. Only then did Xia Yubing release her in pain.
The distinctively boned hands bore a row of teeth marks, throbbing faintly.
Xia Yubing held her hand high. In the sunlight, glistening liquid gleamed on it. Unfazed by the woman’s disgusted stare, she curved her lips and slowly brought her hand to her own mouth, throat bobbing as she licked.
“Disgusting. You’re a real psycho.”
Xia Zhengyun flung the blanket over her face. The other woman toppled backward, but her struggles were like a kitten’s scratches against Xia Yubing—futile.
Soon enough, Xia Yubing tired of their little game. She swung her leg over, flipping their positions and pinning the woman down.
“Guess right. What should I reward you with?”
“Get off.”
“Teach me, sis.”
“I’m just someone no one cares for. If you care, teach me—teach me…”
