Chapter 17: Drawing Lots to Choose Gifts
Su Jian Yue placed the gift bag containing the aromatherapy diffuser to the side and took off her hat.
After finishing these small tasks, she set up the simple easel she had bought and then took out all the acrylic paints, placing them aside for use.
She took out her palette, poured the acrylic paints she needed into it, and then took out her paintbrushes.
Su Jian Yue thought for only a moment before starting to paint. The colors of the acrylics were brilliant, and in no time, a sunset scene began to take shape.
Next, Su Jian Yue sketched a slender figure with a few strokes, drawing the back of a black-haired woman.
The woman was holding books in her hands, her long white dress billowing in the wind, as pure as a fairy from the heavens, untouched by the mortal world.
Su Jian Yue painted for nearly an hour and a half before her work was considered complete. Looking at the finished product, although it was a bit rushed, Su Jian Yue was still quite satisfied.
This was a scene she had witnessed with her own eyes before. After graduating from high school, she had gone to Linhai City to visit her older sister. Auntie Shen had arranged for her and her older sister to stay at a villa in the suburbs for a while.
The villa there was surrounded by endless grasslands. She often pestered her older sister to go out and play. Her older sister had a heavy workload and also had to manage some company affairs, so she would bring books or documents with her. While her older sister handled her work, she would sit on the grass and play, and would often pester her older sister to play with her.
Su Jian Yue looked at her painting, her eyes curving into crescents. The day she remembered most vividly was the day her older sister wore a white dress. She had brought a camera that day and pestered her older sister to let her take photos. Her older sister couldn’t say no to her and let her direct the shoot.
Her favorite photo was the one of her older sister’s back. She had been mesmerized at that moment. Su Jian Yue felt that she would never forget that scene in her entire life. Therefore, this time she painted a picture similar to that scene. She felt that her older sister would definitely be able to choose correctly, to choose her!
Thinking of this, Su Jian Yue became even happier.
At this moment, the live stream’s bullet comments were also very lively.
[Wow, wow, wow, our baby is so good at painting. The painting is so beautiful.]
[Let me see who the person in the painting is? So hard to guess. (dog head.jpg)]
[Hahaha, it’s definitely her Older Sister Shen Xun~]
[To the person in front, you’re overthinking it, okay? What if Little Moon just painted it randomly? Can you not lock in the CP from the very beginning?]
[Oh my god, does our Little Moon have toxic solo stans already? She’s liked Shen Xun since she was a child. Everyone knows that, okay?]
[Is liking someone as a child the same as liking them when you’re older? Taking our Little Moon away, no thanks, no thanks.]
Su Jian Yue had no idea that people were arguing over this painting. She happily took the painting and the aromatherapy diffuser she had prepared to the first floor. When Su Jian Yue went over, she saw that there were already a few gift boxes on that table. It seemed she was the last one to place her gift.
Su Jian Yue simply placed the gift box and the painting together to indicate that both items were from her. After doing this, the alphas were asked to return to their rooms. The next part of the time belonged to the five omegas. They would come down to the first floor to choose their gifts.
At this time, on the third floor, some of the omegas were watching a movie together, while others were sitting at the bar reading magazines. Hearing the announcement, the group was visibly relieved.
Shen Xun had flipped through the magazine in her hands several times. Adhering to the principle of being professional since she was getting paid, she had been staying on the third floor with everyone and had not returned to her room alone.
“It’s finally done. Let’s go, let’s go. We can finally go downstairs to choose our gifts,” Ren Peng said excitedly.
“Then how do we decide who gets which gift? We can’t just choose based on the packaging, can we?” Liang Wenjing also said.
Yu Lin thought for a moment before saying, “Based on the principle of fairness, we should definitely open all the gifts before choosing. As for how to choose, we can draw lots to determine the order. This is both fair and just, all depending on luck.”
Shen Xun also nodded. “Indeed.”
Seeing that no one had any objections, Yu Lin smiled. “Alright, then it’s settled. I’ll go back to my room to get a pen and paper.”
“Okay, then let’s all go downstairs first,” Shen Xun reminded them.
No one had any objections. They thought this was novel and fun, and it all depended on luck. Even if you could guess what gift your person of interest would give, you still had to be lucky enough to draw a number at the front to choose first. Just this alone created a lot of suspense.
The audience in the live stream was also very nervous.
[Ahhhhhh! I’m nervous. Will our Shen Xun and Little Moon be able to go on a date together?]
[S-ha, s-ha, it feels like opening a blind box. So interesting.]
[I wonder if baby Shen Xun will be able to choose Little Moon’s painting.]
[By the way, does anyone want to see a love triangle? I actually kind of want to see Little Moon go on a date with another older sister.]
[Oh my god, to the person above, wouldn’t baby Xunxun die of jealousy?]
[Want to see +1. I want to see baby Xunxun get jealous. It would definitely be a great ship!]
The audience loved the drama, but the omegas were inexplicably getting a bit nervous.
“How should we do this? Should we unwrap all the gifts first?” Mao Ning asked.
Shen Xun nodded, but her gaze subconsciously fell on the painting. With just one glance, Shen Xun already had the answer in her heart. However, she didn’t let her gaze linger on the painting for too long, afraid that the other omegas would see through her.
Ren Peng looked at the painting and said, “The person in this painting is a girl. Doesn’t that directly rule out me and Mao Ning?”
Mao Ning also looked at it with a wry smile. “Alright, we’ll try our best not to choose that painting.”
Shen Xun looked at the things on the table and said, “Then let’s unwrap the gifts first.”
With that, Shen Xun casually unwrapped a pink-packaged box. Inside the pink box was a wooden box. Shen Xun opened the box, and inside was a necklace with a pendant. The pendant was shaped like a teardrop and looked quite nice.
“A necklace? Who could have given this?” Ren Peng muttered under his breath.
At this moment, Yu Lin, who had gone back to get a pen and paper, also returned. She had brought down some sticky notes. The notes were only the size of a palm, and each one was the same size, which would make the lot drawing fairer.
“Did you unwrap it? Only this one?” Yu Lin asked.
Shen Xun nodded. “I unwrapped this one. Let’s each unwrap one.”
Yu Lin nodded. “Alright, then I won’t be polite. Let me think which one I should unwrap.”
With that, she put down the pen and paper in her hand and reached for the painting. Shen Xun’s heart sank.
Could Little Moon’s gift be very popular? Her fingers unconsciously clenched. Afraid that others would see through her, she quickly relaxed her hand.
Yu Lin picked up the painting. “Did the person paint this themselves? Or did they buy it?”
“I don’t know,” Mao Ning replied.
“But the painting is quite nice. It has a great atmosphere. Then I’ll continue unwrapping.” With that, Yu Lin picked up the white handbag below, opened the box inside, and saw that it contained an aromatherapy diffuser.
Yu Lin looked at the aromatherapy diffuser inside with some surprise. “I use this aromatherapy diffuser often. Who gave this? It suits me so well.”
Shen Xun pursed her lips and said nothing. Her little puppy is too good at giving gifts. She must draw a number at the front later, or her little puppy will have to go on a date with someone else.
