Chapter 19: The Hype Man
Shen Xun pinched the bridge of her nose, looking at the remaining items on the table. She really didn’t know which one to choose. Without Su Jian Yue’s gift, it was all the same to her.
So, Shen Xun simply said, “Then I’ll choose that black fountain pen.”
Next was Liang Wenjing. The only options left for her were the necklace and the book. She decisively chose the teardrop-shaped necklace. After all, giving a book on a show felt like the person was trying to build a persona, and she didn’t like that.
Finally, Mao Ning sighed at the camera and picked up the book. He didn’t like the book either; he wasn’t a fan of literary things at all, but he had no choice now.
After everyone had chosen their gifts, Yang Rui came out. “Alright, everyone can now take your gifts back. You are not allowed to reveal them to each other. As for tomorrow’s date location, I will inform you all via message. You can just go directly there then.”
The omegas returned to their rooms to put away their gifts. Only then did the loudspeaker in the Heartbeat House sound again. “Alright, all guests, please gather in the living room.”
Hearing the voice, the guests came out of their rooms one by one.
When Su Jian Yue came out, Shen Xun happened to be coming out of her room as well. Seeing Shen Xun, Su Jian Yue thought she had already gotten her gift and winked at her.

“Then the alphas will draw in one group. Five slips of paper, two of which have numbers. The person who draws a numbered slip will be responsible for that day’s meals and grocery shopping. The omegas will do the same,” Zhao Qifei continued.
Shen Xun nodded. “That’s fine. It’s very fair. It all depends on luck.”

Su Jian Yue was already hungry. Her stomach rumbled several times in a row.
Shen Xun heard it and brought some potato chips from the kitchen for everyone to share. “Eat something to tide you over.”
“Mhmm.” Su Jian Yue opened a bag of potato chips, took a bite herself, and then quickly handed it to Shen Xun for her to eat as well.

With that, he also stood up to serve everyone.
