Chapter 37: Is This Right? May I Ask?
Su Jian Yue felt Shen Xun stop. She felt that the surroundings were too quiet. Besides her and Shen Xun, there was no one else.
“Older Sister, what’s wrong?” Su Jian Yue’s voice was trembling.
Shen Xun patted Su Jian Yue’s hand reassuringly. “It’s okay. There are just fewer people on the second floor. You can keep your eyes closed.”
“Okay,” Su Jian Yue replied, shivering.
Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue into the hallway marked “Orthopedics.” The green lights in the hallway were eerie and terrifying, but Shen Xun wasn’t afraid of this. She calmly pushed open the door of the first consultation room. The door opened with a creak, accompanied by the sound of rusting metal.
The consultation room was pitch black. Shen Xun pushed the door open wider. Suddenly, the incandescent light in the room lit up, illuminating a ghost face sitting in a chair.
The male doctor’s face was covered in bloodstains, and he was holding a blood-stained saw in his hand. On the consultation bed to the side, a corpse-like figure was still dripping with blood. It did look quite scary, but Shen Xun wasn’t afraid.
She glanced at the doctor calmly. “Hello, we’re here to find something. You can continue.”
With that, Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue, or rather, with one hand held by Su Jian Yue, she used her other hand to quickly search the room.
The doctor gave a resentful smile, his two eyes staring intently at Shen Xun. Shen Xun glanced at him and continued to search.
She found a holographic card with the words “Heartbeat Card” written on it on the doctor’s office desk. Shen Xun then pulled Su Jian Yue around to the male doctor’s side. Seeing him still standing there with the saw, Shen Xun reached out and pushed him. “Excuse me, please make way.”
The male doctor had obviously never encountered someone so bold. Most of the people who entered his room either cried and ran out, or screamed and ran out. There had never been anyone like Shen Xun who ignored his feelings.
The male doctor glared at Shen Xun fiercely and even tried to saw her with the saw.
The saw was covered in bloodstains, but Shen Xun reached out and grabbed it. She felt that the material of the saw was plastic. Perhaps to prevent tourists from getting injured, it was even wrapped in a layer of rubber.
Shen Xun glanced at the male doctor. “Stop fooling around. You can go stand over there for a while. I’ll be done searching here soon.”
Su Jian Yue, with her eyes closed, was still terrified. “Older Sister, who are you talking to? Is there someone else in this room?”
“Mmm, there’s a doctor treating a patient. Don’t be scared. I’ll be done searching soon.” With one hand held by Su Jian Yue, Shen Xun could only use her right hand to quickly search the doctor’s office drawers. She finally found another holographic card with the words “Heartbeat Card” written on it.
This way, she already had three cards in her hand.
Shen Xun put the card into her small bag with some joy. When she looked up, she saw the male doctor’s resentful gaze. If a timid person were stared at like this, they would probably have broken down long ago. But Shen Xun was not afraid of this.
Her gaze swept across the room again. She had already searched the most likely places to hide cards. The only place she hadn’t searched was the single bed. The person on the single bed had half of their thigh sawed off and was still dripping with blood.
Of course, these were all models. Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue to the bed.
The male doctor gave a smile. He couldn’t scare this woman, but that didn’t mean that other places couldn’t scare her either. Most tourists would be scared to death by the things on that bed.
Shen Xun had also reached the bed by now. She was thinking of searching under the bedsheet and the corners of the bed to see if she could find a card.
The moment Shen Xun bent down, the seemingly patient-like thing on the bed sat up straight. Blood began to flow from its face, and a terrifying wail came from its mouth.
Shen Xun remained calm, but Su Jian Yue was so scared she hugged Shen Xun’s waist from behind. “Sis, Older Sister, what’s that thing talking?”
Hearing Su Jian Yue’s trembling voice, Shen Xun quickly said softly, “It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s just a scary model. You can keep your eyes closed. We’ll be leaving soon.”
Because the model had scared Su Jian Yue, Shen Xun was not very polite to it. She even reached out and searched the model all over. In the end, she found another card under the body model.
Up to now, they had already found four cards.
Shen Xun put the card away and led Su Jian Yue out of the room. The moment they went out, the door slammed shut with a bang. The lights in the hallway were still green. Just as Shen Xun was leading Su Jian Yue forward, something suddenly fell from the ceiling. But it was still a few steps away from them, so it wasn’t very clear.
Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue forward a few steps and saw a human head on the ground. She reached out, picked it up, and took a look. She found another heartbeat card inside the head.
Just as Shen Xun had put the card in her bag, a headless person rushed out from a room in the middle of the hallway. As he rushed towards Shen Xun and the others, he shouted, “Give me back my head! My neck hurts so much!”
The voice echoed on the quiet second floor. Su Jian Yue’s face turned pale with fear. She didn’t dare to open her eyes to look.
Shen Xun, however, was so amused she laughed. As she comforted Su Jian Yue, she pulled her to run. “It’s okay, it’s okay. The staff are chasing us.”
The moment Su Jian Yue heard “staff,” she was no longer so scared. But if she had opened her eyes, she would have seen a headless person chasing them.
The netizens in the live stream were also stunned. They hadn’t expected the production team to be so ruthless, putting the guests in such a terrifying place.
[Oh my god, if I were Shen Xun, I wouldn’t dare to enter that room just now.]
[Seriously, I would have fainted from fear just by seeing that doctor with the saw.]
[Shen Xun actually dared to search the person lying down. She’s so ruthless.]
[Yeah, and the human head that fell from the ceiling. If it were me, I would have been scared out of my wits. How would I dare to pick up the card inside?]
[It has to be Shen Xun. She’s so awesome.]
She pulled Shen Xun and ran for a while, reaching the lobby on the second floor. Liang Wenjing and Jiang Ying had just run out from another hallway on the second floor, also with a person covered in blood chasing them.
Seeing Shen Xun and the others also come, Liang Wenjing shouted, “Run! What cards? We haven’t found a single one.”
“No need to run. They’re just staff. Everyone, don’t get excited,” Shen Xun said, and led Su Jian Yue towards the consultation desk in the lobby. There were also a lot of books scattered there. Shen Xun started to search, and sure enough, she found another card inside.
While Liang Wenjing and the other two were playing cat and mouse with the ghost behind them, Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue towards the hallway they had just run out of.
Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue inside and saw a broken rag doll in the middle of the hallway. Almost without thinking, Shen Xun picked up the rag doll. She unzipped the doll, and sure enough, she saw the card inside.
Including this card, Shen Xun already had six cards in her hand.
According to the pattern, she should be able to find more cards at the consultation desk upstairs. With that thought, Shen Xun led Su Jian Yue upstairs. Just then, Liang Wenjing and the other two had also rushed up to the third floor.
The originally quiet third floor suddenly became lively. A few ghost nurses in the lobby, seeing them come up, all rushed towards them.
Shen Xun pulled Su Jian Yue and ran, persuading them, “Everyone, don’t chase, don’t chase. The light is too dim. It’s easy to get hurt. Be careful.”
As she spoke, she unhurriedly led Su Jian Yue to the consultation desk on the third floor. In the end, she found another card in a drawer at the bottom of the desk.
One of the male doctors, seeming to be displeased with Shen Xun and Su Jian Yue’s leisurely manner, ran towards them. Shen Xun stuffed the card into her small bag and quickly led Su Jian Yue towards a hallway on the side.
Seeing the two of them enter this area, the male doctor’s face showed an excited smile. He blocked the hallway, clearly not wanting them to come out.
Shen Xun scanned the hallway. Suddenly, a row of arms reached out from under the wall on the right side. These arms were clearly trying to grab her and Su Jian Yue. Shen Xun quickly led Su Jian Yue to dodge and walked deeper into the hallway.
In the hallway, the dark red light flickered on and off. A few drops of fresh blood would drip from the ceiling from time to time. The doors on both sides were tightly closed. Shen Xun pulled on the handles of several doors in a row, but the doors seemed to be sealed shut. Not a single one opened.
Shen Xun looked back. The male doctor with blood on his face was still smiling eerily. He seemed to be intentionally blocking them in this alley.
The netizens in Shen Xun and Su Jian Yue’s live stream were about to be scared to death. The bullet comments were also scrolling by rapidly.
[Prosperity, democracy, harmony…]
[Ahhhhhh, how can this be? Mama, I’m scared. Let’s just go out.]
[Zheng Tianming and Yu Lin have already given up. The two of them are now happily eating fruit outside. Sister Shen, why don’t we give up too?]
[Being forced into the hallway by that doctor ghost. There’s definitely something terrifying in this hallway.]
[Sob, sob, sob, I don’t dare to look anymore, but I still want to.]
Su Jian Yue was also very scared. Her back was already covered in cold sweat. “Older Sister, where are we?”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. We’re almost there. We just need three more cards to get out. When we get out, you can rest for a while,” Shen Xun continued to comfort her softly. They had already gotten seven cards. It would be too much of a loss to give up now.
Since that male ghost wanted her and Su Jian Yue to go inside, then they would just go inside and see.
With that thought, Shen Xun continued to lead Su Jian Yue inside. Seeing the sign hanging on the large door at the end of the hallway, Shen Xun was so amused she laughed.
Alright, no wonder that male doctor was forcing them into the hallway. The sign on it said “Morgue.” Most people would turn and run at the sight of this, right?
But Shen Xun was not ordinary. She didn’t believe in these things to begin with. Besides, it was a variety show filming. Everyone inside was just staff.
The more dangerous the place, the more cards there would be. With that thought, Shen Xun reached out and pushed open the large door.
The moment she led Su Jian Yue in, the incandescent lights inside all lit up with a bang.
The inside of the morgue was terrifyingly quiet, with almost no sound.
And the staff member disguised as a male ghost who was blocking the outside was also stunned. Shouldn’t most people scream and run away at the sight of a morgue? How could she be so calm and just walk in? Is this right? May I ask?
