Chapter 6: I’m Worried My Little Sister Will Be Led Astray by You All.
“Director, do you think Miss Shen has already blocked me?” Feng Xiangpeng wanted to cry. The invitations for the other guests had all gone smoothly; they had only gotten stuck here with Shen Xun.
“Forget it, forget it. I’ll use my phone to call her again.” With that, Cheng Fei used his personal mobile phone to dial Shen Xun’s number.
Shen Xun had just contacted Zhang Qiao, arranging to meet at the cafeteria entrance in a bit. It was finals week, and no one wanted to bother going out to eat.
She had just confirmed the plan with Zhang Qiao on Green Bubble when she received a call from another unknown number. Shen Xun’s brow furrowed slightly, and she hung up directly.
She had just locked her dorm room door and left when, after only a few steps, her phone rang again. Shen Xun simply switched it to silent and ignored it.
By the time she reached the cafeteria entrance, there were over a dozen more missed calls on her phone.
Seeing her looking at her phone, Zhang Qiao asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Someone has called me dozens of times this afternoon, saying they’re inviting me to some romance variety show. After I refused, they called me another dozen times,” Shen Xun said with a frown.
“A romance variety show? Isn’t that great? You can meet well-off alphas and make money at the same time. Why not go?” Zhang Qiao said excitedly.
Shen Xun shook her head. “Not interested. Isn’t dating just a waste of time? With that time, I could intern at my family’s company and earn money just the same.”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk, you’re such a hypocrite. When that little sister of yours comes to see you, why don’t you feel like spending time with her is a waste?” Zhang Qiao sensed something was off and teased her.
Shen Xun, however, was quite frank. “She is naturally different from others. How can those strangers compare to her?”
“Oh, please. So our great campus belle Shen has two faces. Hey, your phone is lighting up again. Why don’t you just answer it? Reject them one more time so they stop harassing you,” Zhang Qiao suggested.
Shen Xun thought about it and felt it made sense. If she didn’t answer, these people would just keep calling. It was better to refuse them clearly.
She nodded at Zhang Qiao. As the two walked into the cafeteria, Shen Xun answered the phone. “Hello?”
“Hello, Miss Shen. I am the director of the Heartbeat Emergency production team. The staff member who called earlier might not have explained things clearly. I would like to explain it to you again. You can decide whether to accept the invitation after you’ve heard me out. Is that okay?” Cheng Fei’s tone was exceptionally sincere. He humbled himself as much as possible, just wanting to persuade Shen Xun.
“Fine, then go ahead and speak,” Shen Xun said with great reluctance.
Zhang Qiao, beside her, gave her a look. “You find a place to sit. I’ll go get our food.”

On the other end of the line, Cheng Fei, hearing that Shen Xun was willing to listen to his explanation, immediately said, “Our show has no script. It’s the most authentic kind of reality show. It’s fine even if you don’t end up with anyone in the end. Also, Miss Su Jian Yue has already signed a contract with us…”
Shen Xun didn’t hear a single word after that. Her mind only latched onto the news that Su Jian Yue had already signed. “What? She accepted your invitation?”
“That’s right, Miss Shen. Miss Su has already signed with us. I’ve even transferred her appearance fee. If you don’t believe me, you can ask her and then give us your answer,” Cheng Fei said. He felt there was a chance, so he wasn’t as anxious as before.
“Alright, I’m hanging up then.” After Shen Xun hung up, her face was terrifyingly cold.
Zhang Qiao had already gotten food for Shen Xun. Seeing her grim expression, she asked, “What’s wrong with you now? Why do you look so terrible?”
“They said Little Moon has already signed with them.”
“Su Jian Yue signed with them? Isn’t that perfect? You two can go together,” Zhang Qiao said, not thinking it was a big deal.
Shen Xun frowned. “How could she go? Little Moon is only a freshman. What if she gets tricked by someone with ill intentions on the show?”
“Hiss… she’s a university freshman, not a middle school first-grader. How could she be tricked? You, you’re just worrying yourself into a mess,” Zhang Qiao said, exasperated.
“No, I have to ask her.” With that, Shen Xun called Su Jian Yue.
Su Jian Yue was in her dorm. When she received her older sister’s call, her eyes lit up. “Older Sister? Are you done with your exams?”
“Not yet.” Hearing the little sun’s voice, Shen Xun’s agitated mood calmed down a bit.
“Hehe, me neither. Older Sister, I miss you~” Su Jian Yue began to act cute out of habit.
Shen Xun’s expression softened, and a smile finally appeared on her face. She could imagine the little puppy wagging its tail and acting cute with her, and immediately, all her anger dissipated.
“I heard you’re participating in a romance variety show?” Shen Xun still asked.
Su Jian Yue immediately replied, “Mhmm, I’m going to play for half a month and can earn 6.5 million in pocket money. It’s a pretty good deal.”
Shen Xun’s eyes darkened. “Then you’re not coming to see me during the summer break?”
“I am! I’ll play on that variety show for half a month, and then I’ll go to Linhai City to play with you. I’ve already thought it all out. Older Sister, we can go play in the water at the beach then,” Su Jian Yue said, fantasizing about her happy life after the exams.
Shen Xun, however, looked helpless. “Do you even know what a romance variety show is? How dare you sign a contract with them?”
“I do. It’s about dating. But the director said it’s okay if I don’t end up with anyone. I’ll just treat it as making friends and having fun. Hehe, and the company’s legal team reviewed the contract for me. There won’t be any problems,” Su Jian Yue said with confidence.
“Don’t you know how sinister people can be? What if someone has ulterior motives toward you?” Shen Xun was still worried.
“Older Sister, they said you’re going too. So why don’t we just go and have fun together?” Su Jian Yue thought for a moment and added, “Older Sister, it’s okay if you don’t want to go. I’ll be back after just half a month of playing.”
Shen Xun nearly ground her teeth to dust. “The fear is that you’ll be snatched away by someone in just half a month. Forget it, I have something to do here. I’m hanging up.”
“Okay, Older Sister. I’ll call you again tonight,” Su Jian Yue continued to act cute.
Just then, her roommate Liu Yujia returned. Even though she was used to Su Jian Yue acting cute on the phone with her older sister, she still found it a bit much. “Hiss, are you really an alpha?”
“Mmm! What’s wrong, never seen a cute top before?” Su Jian Yue said proudly.
Liu Yujia chuckled and retorted, “And you’re proud of it. That’s so you.”
“Of course.” Su Jian Yue happily rolled around on her bed once before pulling Liu Yujia downstairs for dinner.

Shen Xun wanted to call the production team again, but Zhang Qiao stopped her. “Big sis, let’s eat first. Don’t worry, your Little Moon is very safe right now. No one can snatch her away. It’ll be the same if you call that production team after you’ve eaten.”
Shen Xun took a deep breath. “Okay.”
But despite saying that, Shen Xun ate at an extremely fast pace. In no time, she had put down her chopsticks and called the production team.
Cheng Fei saw Shen Xun’s call and answered with a wide grin. “Miss Shen, how is it? Have you considered it?”
Shen Xun frowned. “Mmm, wasting a few days is no big deal. I’m worried my little sister will be led astray by you all.”
“Then you can just come and watch over her yourself. How about this, I’ll send you the show’s contract?”
Shen Xun thought for a moment and said, “I’ll have someone from my company add you. As for the specific appearance fee, you can talk directly with our legal team.”
“Fine, fine.” Cheng Fei had thought he could save over a million, but it turned out this one also came from a family with a company. When it came to money, their production team really couldn’t gain any advantage.
For the next few days, both Su Jian Yue and Shen Xun were in the midst of their exam week. They had exams during the day and reviewed at night. However, Su Jian Yue had gotten into the habit of calling Shen Xun every night before bed. She liked to chatter on about what she had done that day to Shen Xun.
“Older Sister, I think I did well on my exam this time. But it’s so boring, it’s just been exams these past few days. But I ran into a cute little orange cat at school today. Guess what happened?” Su Jian Yue described vividly.
Shen Xun still had her review textbook in front of her. She listened patiently to Su Jian Yue’s chatter, a smile playing on her lips. “What happened?”
“That little orange cat actually got attached to me! Hehe, it kept rubbing against my legs and meowing at me. So I went to the little supermarket and bought it a small bag of cat food, then went back to feed it. The little cat was so well-behaved, it even rolled over and let me rub its belly,” Su Jian Yue said, her eyes curving into crescents as she recalled the little cat that had played cute with her during the day.
Shen Xun could hear the smugness in her voice over the phone and played along. “Is that so? You’re so cute, of course the little animals like you too.”
“Of course, hmph! By the way, Older Sister, did you sign the contract with that show?” Su Jian Yue asked.
“Mmm, I was worried about you going, so I decided to just go with you,” Shen Xun replied.
“That’s great! Then I can be with you for the whole summer break! Yay!” Su Jian Yue happily rolled around on her bed a few times.
Her roommate on the opposite bunk, Liu Yujia, rolled her eyes at her. Annoying couples just love to show off, and it’s always ‘Older Sister, Little Sister’ every day. She was done with it. What kind of sisters talked on the phone for hours every day?
Every time she met her own little sister, they would start bickering after just a few words.
On the other end of the line, Shen Xun heard the little puppy’s cheerful tone, and the smile on her face grew wider. “Mmm, you can see me every day during the break. Are you happy?”
“Mhmm, super happy!”
The two continued their sticky-sweet phone call for another half an hour before finally hanging up.
Zhang Qiao, playing a game on her own bunk, teased, “Well, well, how come the great scholar Shen isn’t talking about wasting time now? It’s usually a pain to ask you to go shopping, but you have time to chat on the phone with your little sister?”
The corners of Shen Xun’s lips lifted slightly. “She’s different.”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk, ‘she’s different’~ Hiss, annoying couples are so cheesy,” Zhang Qiao muttered under her breath. Little sister, my foot. She could only fool a ghost. Anyone with eyes and ears would know they weren’t just normal sisters.
Used to her roommate’s teasing, Shen Xun didn’t argue back. She had to talk to Su Jian Yue on the phone every day before she could peacefully review her lessons.
On the other side, Su Jian Yue’s roommate Liu Yujia was also complaining, “Big sis, you are seriously the most coquettish alpha I have ever seen.”
“Naturally!” Su Jian Yue looked proud. An alpha who knew how to act cute had the best life. Her family and her older sister all doted on her, hmph.
Su Jian Yue wasn’t particularly passionate about her grades; as long as she didn’t fail, it was fine. Therefore, she didn’t have the habit of reviewing in the dorm. Instead, she started playing games with Liu Yujia.
